Joshua looked pleased with this response. "He wouldn't eat us," He reassured his friend. "Eskimos don't taste very good," He whispered, giggling. "I don't think anything eats them."
He paused, and said, "The polar bear's it first!" He took off, giggling.

That made sense; eskimo coats had a lot of hair, and who wanted to eat hair? Maybe cats, but there were no cats at the North Pole, he didn't think.
Bal didn't have time to ponder it, though, because suddenly it was time to run and so he did that, bolting after his new friend and laughing. Snow kicked up in wet clods under his boots, and he realized it was not really that hard to run, just cold.
Suddenly he gave an affected stagger and windmilled his arms like he was trying to keep his balance. "The polar bear got me!" he yelled, grinning.

"You're it then!" Joshua replied, giggling. He kept running, sometimes making a sharp turn right or left, but for the most part he ran in a straight line. It was hard to change direction when you were in puffy coats and clunky boots.

Bal giggled and took off after Josh, the furry hood of his coat bumping against his back as he ran. He was surprised at how fun it was to run in all the snow; he hadn't expected to be able to do it at all, but it was easy and nice and he liked the cold air in his face.
He could almost reach the end of Josh's coat, but he thought it would be unsportsmanlike to grab it, so he lurched forward with a fierce battle cry instead, brushing the other boy's back with the tips of his fingers.
"You're it! No tag-backs!" he giggled, scrambling up from the snow and skipping back a step, just in case.

Joshua giggled as he was tagged, and he ran towards the invisible polar bear. He tripped over a snow covered tree root, but that just made him giggle all the more. The snow wasn't as cold as it had seemed when he'd first come outside.
Now it was just... Fun.
