Azaff looked up at her a little surprised. He wans't that sure of what to think. He hadn't played tag in so long. Not since the pride. Wow. But he wanted to at the same time. He stood up with a grin on his face. Streching out for a moment before following after her. His muscles ripping under him, oh he hadn't played in solong he forgot how it felt.
"I'm going to get you!" He called out with a grin on his face as she went after her.

Her laughter rang through the sky as they ran, muscles rippling under her coat. The amethyst ligress didn't remember the last time the wind felt this good against her fur. She couldn't remember how far back in her life where she played a game like this. She called out to him. "You can try! Let's see if you can still run!" Anya felt much like a cub again.
Not much a childhood, huh? Her thoughts flew as fast as her feet. The plains were a blur to her. As the two lions neared water, flocks of birds took to the sky, the sun setting over the land signaling night to come. Her tail streaked out behind her like a banner, her feet never slowing kicking up dirt as she went. She had never felt this good in all her days of living.
But why?

Zaff chuckled deeply as he followed after her. Loving the sounds of her laughter and then her comments. "I might be old but I can!" He laughed himself. A good 'ol laugh he hadn't had one of those in a while. He pushed himself forward, loving the feeling of the air in his mane. A grin grew on his face as he went after her as fast as she could. It would be something he would have to get used to. He was going to be watching grandcubs from both Umi and Zarah, and he could see some coming soon from Soyala she would have a mate too he knew it.
But those ideas of being old he shrugged off, he didn't want to think of that right now as he was having fun, not at all. No. Soon he was pushing himself along and he wasn't that far behind her. A smile growing on his face. He looked at her tail that he was next to and pushed himself more so he was coming up on her side. "I'm going to get you." He warned again with a larger grin on his face.

She first felt his maw brush against her tail feather. Then his body along the tail. He was getting too close. With a laugh, she pushed her body forward willing her muscles to move. Though her muscles screamed with strain, she would never cease her run.
As night fell over them, she began to slow. Suddenly, she felt her feet hit water. Then the rest of her plunged into the cold lake. Anya gave a shriek of laughter feeling her body automatically take to the water. She swam slowly looking back to try and find Zaff's form. "Zaff! Zaff?" She tilted her head a little, tail acting like a rudder as she swam circles in the water. "Come, the water isn't that cold."

Zaff made a small face as she started to push herself forward again, damn and he almost had her. He panted slightly as he ran, he was so out of shape, telling himself he needed to do this more often. He would probably get one of his daughters to join him with a run every now and again some time soon. But the falling of night was a bit of a relief, the sun wasn't as intense making it a little easier on him.
As he was the water come he started to slow down, with it being night it had to be some what cold, he also thought Anya was going to stop, he was getting ready to shift his course and head in another direction but then he heard the splashing of water and then his eyes backed up the idea more. He started to chuckled softly as he watched him.
"You sure?" He asked looking at her before smiling and heading in anyway. He relaxed as he realized that she was right the water wasn't cold. A smile grew more on his lips as he started to move more into the water. "Ah you're right. Its nice." He grinned at her with a small chuckled then started to wade toward her.

The ligress laughed gently, her tail flicking a little being used as a rudder. She came toward the bank of the water suddenly bumping into Zaff. "Ooops!" Anya pawed at her nose a little as she floated in front of him, her ears back against her skull flakes plastered against her fur. As night feel, she looked up as the stars began to come out, her eyes taking them in. "Wow...it's so beautiful..." Anya whispered a little letting herself be swallowed by the night sky, the water brushing and lapping up against her fur.

Zaff looked at her and chuckled some watching her as she did. She was a beautiful lioness he had to admit. He chuckled and started swimming around some himself, feeling his mane staring to get heavier as he did. He glanced over at her as she spoke again. He chuckled slightly before nodding. "It is very, very beautiful." He chuckled as he moved closer to the more shallow part of the water, sitting down and looking up at the sky.

Anya swam over to the shallows letting herself rest on the shore, half of her still in the water. She looked over to Zaff as she swam. The old timer seemed to be enjoying himself well enough. With a smile, she watched him for a moment before looking up to the sky. As he came to the shore, she came over to him resting close by. "So, did you have fun today?" She asked, not letting her eyes trail away from the stars above them. "I did. I haven't had this much fun in a long time.."

Zaff smiled as the female came up next to him. At her question he started to nod right away. "Yes, I did, and I have to say the same ting. I haven't had this much fun in a while." He leaned over some to nudge her gently. "I have to thank you for showing me a good time." He chuckled slightly and gave her a goofy grin, even if she didn't see it as she was lookgin up at the stars, he stared at her for a moment before looking back up at the sky with a smile still on his face.

With a laugh she nodded. "No problem." She turned to give him a bit of a bow with her head before giving a low, tired sigh. "Oh, if only I was a bit younger..." Anya wasn't old, but she felt like she was sometimes. Standing up,s he shook the wet from her fur before stretching her body a bit getting the kinks from her joints. "It's late. Shouldn't you be heading home to your daughters?"

Zaff chuckled softly and clicked his tongue off of the roof of his mouth. "Well I have to say we all wish for our youth back." He smiled at her. "You look quiet young I have to say, be proud of that too." As she stood he did too and nodded. "It is and I should." He moved away from her a bit so he could shake off with out getting her wet again. "However would you like for me to walk you back to your home?" He looked back at her. "I would not leave a lady unless she wanted to go off on her own." He nodded again backing up his words.

Anya gave a smile. "Ahh to be young again." Stretching, she shook at her pelt again before looking over to him. At his offer, she laughed. "I thank you, but I have no home to go to. I...just sleep where I can." With a little shrug, Anya smiled. "Thanks for the offer though. I'll try and find somewhere to sleep for the night." With a little chuff, she nudged her nose against his cheek. "Thanks for a great day."

Zaff watch her then gave a defeated nod, but smiled softly. "Well I have to say its no problem. But if you need a place to sleep just hunt me down. I always have some room." He smiled at her then nodded. "No problem at all. I was glad to have your company I hope to see you around."

A few days passed after Anya's little encounter with Zaff. She had wandered around since then enjoying the free lifestyle. The ligress hadn't given much thought to him until she passed some familiar territory. The female noticed that the lands were the place where she first met Zaff. Anya began to wonder how the single-parent was and if he was getting along with his daughters.
Flicking her tail idly, she slipped into the grasses heading toward the watering hole, closing her eyes contently as the wind caressed her frame.

Zaff yawned before he nuzzled his daughter then grandson. "Good bye little Liam. Good bye Zarah see you later." He watched as his daughter and grandson walk away. A smile growing on his face, the only thing was it was a sad smile. His daughters were almost all grown up... He bit his lip before he turned around and started to turn around and then looked around.
Soon his body was moving, his paws carrying him toward a place that he had the urge to go to. The place where him and the lioness, that other single parent... He was getting closer to the lake before he noticed something there. A purple shape. He chuckled before making his way up there. "Hello there." He said quietly with a smile.
