In all honesty, Zuri was actually quite pleased with the subject change. True, it was still about her family, but this was small talk now and small talk she could definitely do. Anything that took her mind even the smallest fraction away from the sorrows at paw was a decent enough distraction, in her opinion.

"Oh, I have a huge family," she said with a soft laugh, her tail flickering behind her, "I have a huge litter of siblings my age, and huge litter of younger siblings." She smiled weakly at the thought of all of them, trying not to think of what her little brothers and sisters would do without both their parents. She supposed Aliona would probably raise them. "My sister is pregnant, as well, so I'll have nieces and nephews to add to the bunch."

She tilted her head as he confessed to never having a family, her eyes on him intently as she listened. She didn't need anyone to tell her she was being particularly well mannered, more so than was normal for her. "Having a family is nice, but sometimes all of them can be a bit annoying. I spend a lot of time alone, even though I do live in a pride." She laughed, a slight smirk on her maw, though there was a slight glance, couple with a certain facial expression, that seemed to note she had heard his last words. She didn't comment though, as 'family' in that sense wasn't exactly her thing.

Rishi breathed a quiet sigh of relief when she didn't comment on his last statement. He was so relieved, indeed, that he didn't noticed the small indications that she had indeed heard him. The fact that Rishi desperately wanted to be part of a family was something that he would share with her another time. He had made great headway already, being accepted into the pride. He didn't need to jinx it by pushing it further.

He blinked in surprise, obviously impressed by the sheer number of the family members she described. Having been an only cub and only knowing his mother and father, Rishi simply couldn't imagine it. The idea seemed wonderful to him. So he blurted out without thinking, "Do you suppose I could meet some of them?"

Realizing what he'd said, Rishi glanced away sheepishly, thinking furiously before adding, "Of course, only if you want. It would be great to meet some other pride members. I feel rather silly knowing only three others in the pride."

He hoped that he'd successfully distracted her. Why did he keep blundering around Zuri? He'd never really had that problem before. Of course, he was very attracted to her and not merely physically. She was interesting, and clever, and different from anyone that he'd met before. However, to her he probably seemed boring and annoying. The thought was a sad one, but he contented himself by thinking that she was at least speaking to him.

One brow slowly raised at his sudden outburst, surprise flickering across her face. She couldn't honestly say she had expected that - the question or his rather sudden way of asking. Then again, how did she know enough about him to start expecting things at all?

"I suppose you probably should start meeting some other members of the pride, you can't exactly be a recluse after all." She smirked lightly at the thought of him being a recluse, considering he seemed to like to come and talk to her so much. She pushed herself up a little with her front paws, enough so that she was at least sitting now, and no longer laying. "Plus, you do need to find yourself a den, and my family is in that direction as well." She seemed to be mulling it over, letting the thoughts pass slowly in her mind.

Finally, she pushed herself up onto all fours, her tail whipping lightly. "Sure, why not?" Introducing a new pride member to the family was bound to take her mind off of the thing she wanted most to forget, and Aliona could probably use some company right about now. With a little natural grace, she leaped down from her rock, turning up to look at him, waiting for him to join her.

Blinking in surprise, Rishi couldn't quite believe his ears. He was surprised that she'd agreed so quickly as he'd really expected her to say no. He watched her leap nimbly down from the rock surface and admired her graceful movements while she wasn't watching. When she turned back, he nodded thoughtfully at her words and hastened to leap down next to her.

"Thank you. I really appreciate all the help you have given me. You didn't have to and yet you did. Again, thank you," he said, smiling happily at her. He fell in a step behind her and waited for her to take the lead.

"It will be an honor to meet your family especially if they are all as interesting as you are," he said with a kind chuckle. All in all, he was quite pleased with how the day was going so far. His life certainly had taken a turn for what he hoped was the better. He now had a place to call home along with the worries and the responsibilities. It was rather daunting, but at least he had some help.

"Don't mention it," she said lightly as she waited for him to fall in behind her, finally taking the lead and walking in the general direction of the pride caves. "I didn't do anything any other pride member wouldn't have done," she said with a slight shake of her head, turning her head to look forward instead of at him. At least he was polite, but she wasn't sure how much of this constant complimenting she could take. To a degree it was nice, but he was making her out to be some type of god almost, and she certainly wasn't - just the daughter of one.

"Oh, believe me darling, my family is probably about as interesting as they come," she said with a small little laugh, glancing back at him once before picking up her pace. Not that he would get to understand why they were so different, as they really needed to trust someone to tell them that. She didn't doubt he would know sooner or later, however. Right now, all that really mattered was that he was giving her a distraction, at least of sorts.

If he was this good, she thought she might keep him around for a while.
