Afterward

Marcia felt he rhythmic up and down movement of Skullgrymon's run. He was surprisingly fast for a large Zoid. Marcia smiled fondly as she watched the screens the zoid displayed. The Zoid had been quite calm today considering their venture to the black market. The Zoid hardly ever did well going to a social center. She mulled over the events as she steered the zoid toward the hidden Hover cargo.

Already late in the day, the sun set in the distance cooling the golden desert sand the sky was quickly enveloped in darkness with lights slowly appearing as it continued to darken. The full moon cast a blue glow on the world. Pulling off her wig her black hair fell back onto her bare shoulders. "Damn that was itchy." she muttered tossing the wig into the bag and then scratching her head.

Marcia frowned she didn't need Quin's help deterring those thugs... Ok, maybe she did if they had ended up fighting. Marcia wasn't gong to admit that, she could have easily shaken them if she had wanted too. Marcia sighed, there was that name again... Where had she heard it before...

She'd ask Dante latter, maybe he knew. He'd been around to more places than she. Geeze... The hover Cargo quickly came into view. "I know I'll think of it..." she whispered to skullgreymon quietly.

Skullgreymon Roared defiantly, Marcia chuckled in response "Still don't like being confined do we." She took the zoid at least once a day so he could stretch, but being confined just wasn't something he was used to. Marcia came up beside the hover Cargo and skullgreymon continued to growl.

"You'll get used to it I promise." she said trying to get him into the hover cargo "Now your being difficult again." Marcia said cleverly maneuvering him inside. "There." she said triumphantly "Now settle down." she said moving him into place on the hanger deck he was a a bit more cooperative inside.

Marcia opened the cockpit and jumped out, he growled uncomfortably. And Marcia patted the side of his face comforting him. "I'll see you tomorrow..." she told the zoid making her way up the steps.

"Hey Dante! The parts you wanted." She called up at the mechanic.

Quin, that stupid name kept nagging at the back of her mind... Where had she heard it before?

What’s in a Name?

The sun was rising slowly but already there was enough light for Marcia to read the information she had been quietly gathering from both the Empire and the Republic concerning her ZOID and the havoc it wreaked long before Marcia and Skullgreymon had become partners. "Geeze what a mess." she said flipping through some of the documents her voice causing the massive white boned ZOID to shift beside her and growl in response.

Marcia shot slight grin up at her Zoid from the roof of the deserted building she sat on "Yeah, yeah I get it." she said putting away one of the most recent photos of a massive crater cause by the deadly missile on her Zoid's back. Marcia started putting the paper documents away folding them carefully and placing them in a black folder. “Come here Skullgreymon.” She said motioning for him to lower his head so she could place the files in the cockpit for latter.

The ZOID lowered its skeletal head and opened the cockpit for Marcia. Skullgreymon growled.

“Thank you.” She said before smirking at Skullgreymon’s responsive growl “That growl may scare everyone else off but I thought you figured out by now I’m not scared of you.” She said partially teasing as she placed the black folder beside the pilot seat and took a step back from the zoid. “Because we’re partners.” Marcia added as the cockpit closed and the Zoid moved back behind the large rock the building had been built into while Marcia crossed her arms over her chest and leaned against the rock wall looking at the pale orangey-blue desert sky.

Marcia began to think about many things but her main thought was to give a fitting name to her Zoid partner. The name the Republic had given him was, well it was a mouthful and didn’t roll of the tongue very well and too she was sure that the Zoid itself was getting tired of it. She had been trying to think of one for quite some time even before Dante had mentioned it when they met.

She sighed, “Are you going to tell me your name?” Marcia asked the rather untalkative Zoid. Marcia had a hunch that he already had a name one from long ago when he had been created but Marcia hadn’t earned enough of his trust to hear it or anything about where he had come from.

Skullgreymon rumbled above.

“No, now why doesn’t that surprise me.” Marcia chuckled then began to think again. She slowly sorted out the damage her ZOID had done when he was still wild. A few poor towns ended up almost entirely wiped off the map the damage had been catastrophic. Now there’s a thought Marcia paused playing with the word in her mind then said it aloud. “Catastrophic.” Marcia changed the word slightly remembering the definition she had read “Catastrophe, a great calamity or misfortune…” She glanced back at the ZOID “Sounds like you don’t you think?” Marcia looked at Skullgreymon for its approval.

Skullgreymon roared a sound that would wake the dead; Marcia covered her ears as a grin spread across her face.

“Catastrophe it is then.” She said now grinning at the zoid. “Lets leave here you woke anyone nearby with that roar of yours Catastrophe” she said using Skullgreymon’s new nickname. It was still pretty long but it sounded better than what she’d been calling him before.

The cockpit in Catastrophe’s head opened as he lowered it down once again to Marcia. Marcia quickly leapt in the cockpit gracefully and took the controls. Catastrophe took off at full speed just as the morning sun peaked over the horizon.

Anger.

The area was littered with zoids torn apart and mangled by the sheer strength of the bio Zoid.Marcia's frustration was evident despite her attempt to hide it and stay calm. It didn't seem as though these Zoids had been as well armed as the gang of bandits she had fought off earlier. The fact they were torn apart was obvious because Marcia hadn't been able to hide her frustration over that black Liger, and Catastrophe had responded in full. Though Marcia did feel a little better now than she had earlier thinking about it she didn't bout Catastrophe felt better too.

Catastrophe carried what was needed his his boney claws as they left the tattered scene and fled back into the desert.

The next time they saw that Liger Marcia would make sure to leave more than a simple mark.

That was odd...

Marica walked through the desert, a cold wind blew this night as a reminder of what had happened moments ago. The desert revealed no signs of the large zoid she had seen circling constantly. Any traces that did remain were no doubt berried now underneath the ever turning sands. Marcia couldn't help but hope the sands would reveal something as she returned to her Zoid...

rounding the corner of a large rock formation was Catastrophe. Despite his earlier performance after the fog had cleared none of the bandits had come trying to find him, that and most of the zoids were immobile. Thankfully buying her time to return, but what she didn't know was what Catastrophe acted like in the fog. Marcia looked upward toward Catastrophe's head. That was still bothering her. He wasn't a normal zoid by any means he was ancient. At least that's what she figured, but she wouldn't really know until he told her. Maybe one day, she mused.

A low agitated rumble came from the bone dragon.

"Let’s make like the Rogues and get out of here..." Marcia said looking back up to her zoid.

Catastrophe lowered his head for and the cockpit opened as his head came close enough to the ground for Marcia to hop into. Grabbing the side of Catastrophe’s jaw Marcia hoisted herself up onto the massive zoid and into the cockpit. Marcia took the controls and the cockpit closed as the zoid once again came to its full height, and the Zoid started moving away from the rouge encampment. Quickly.

----

Marcia continued checking the radar and glancing at the screens to make sure she wasn't being followed, Marcia slowed Catastrophe’s pace as soon as she felt it safe to do so.

She was still unsure as how she felt about the whole situation at the camp... Zombies? It seemed so strange to think about it. But sure enough it had happened, corpses moved on their own; with the help of some obvious mechanical genius. But she found it off that the black fog started rolling in after Quin had left not to mention she hadn't seen him again after that... was it possible he was connected in some way?

She wasn't sure if it was a good or bad connection, Marcia didn't have enough to go off of. She’d have to investigate… that… that and that strange zoid. She had managed to get a... decent look at it considering all the fog and from its ghostly silhouette it seemed skeletal in nature much like Catastrophe.

It was even stranger was when Catastrophe controlled himself? Marcia wasn't even sure what had happened.

Catastrophe roared pulling Marcia instantly from her thoughts.

Marcia instantly snapped to attention tensing her hands on the controls before relaxing a little realizing there wasn't anyone there. She frowned

"What was that about?" she asked the Zoid.

Catastrophe simply answered with a low growl.

Marcia just sighed. She’d even managed to find out who was piloting the damn Liger that had attacked her and Catastrophe. Though it didn’t get very far, the b*****d was physically stronger than her. She’d have to take him down another way. Marcia frowned. She’d kill him eventually; it would be foolish though fighting here after all that’s happened. It annoyed her to no end, though she wouldn’t tell Catastrophe she’d found him… he’d want to go back no doubt and she couldn’t have that. The Zoid would make a scene even larger than before…

That would be troublesome.

Comets and Organoids

A comet streaked across the sky in the uncharted territories. Catastrophe and I watched it go by, maybe there was something valuable in it, at least I was hoping. We chased after it and found were it crashed, Valuable? To say the least it that was an understatement. The comet was one of the most valuable things out there, an Ancient organoid. A blackone with blue Ruins etched on it's plate. needless to say when a girl came from inside it I was both stunned and disheartened.

The black Organoid had a bond already, but that was tough luck for me. Either way I got out of catastrophe to help the girl who seemed to be hurt from the looks of it. The black organoid was very wary but a word from the girl and it calmed, a little. It still didn't seem to like anyone coming near to the girl. But then again maybe all ancient organoids were like that.

Though a saix showed up pretty quick most likely drawn by the comet. Turned out it was Blade. A rogue I met during the attack, I told him to wait on the sides. Though when I examined the girl it seemed as though all the bandages were covering were burns. I tried to give her water but it looked as though it made her sick. I didn't get the chance to ask why.

A bizarre GunSniper appeared out of nowhere and took the two, though the girl and the black Organoid seemed to know it, so at least perhaps it was a friend or ally for them... But whatever had caused them to fly so far could have been chasing them but neither myself nor catastrophe were going to stick around to find out.

A Hidden Companion

Ever since the attack on the camp Catastrophe had been acting tamer than usual to put it mildly. He hardly offered any resistance to my requests like he usually does. I had hoped it was out bond had been growing, but only after a year? It doesn't seem likey with Catastrophe's personality. Either way I was a little worried.

Though I met Quin again strangely enough, he always seems to be around when I have questions. He had quite a few scars from the attack...

Sure enough though he answered all my questions even though they seemed to bother him as well... Along with having Saga look over Catastrophe to ease my concerns. Strangely they were well based though I was still unsure what on at least until Saga found there was an organid bound with the untameable bio Zoid. He was shy and thus hadn't spoken or even reveled it's existence until now.

I returned after I bade him a good bye only to be knocked off my feet by a hyper little organoid Agumo... He was curious and excitable yet fearful of most humans. I don't know why he chose me but I am glad he did.

What now

Quin is dead? at least she thought he was.... She shook her head as though trying to clear it. She was confused, she wasn't down there... at least not really or had she been? It had felt so Real. She couldn't tell what part was a dream, a nightmare really. Marcia felt sick to her stomach, Zombies now this? She never wanted to meet that woman again.

Never again.

Even Catastrophe seemed to be under some sort of effect the Zoid was downright tame... Even without Agumo helping sooth the beast. It wasn't just strange it was creepy. Not much scare's Catastrophe and it was suddenly as though he was timid.

I've been laying low lately, needless to say, I can't even say how we got into the imperial lands in the first place without being detected. She shivered, as though something may have been watching her writing. I don't want to think about it, she held tightly onto the necklace that took Saga's form.

I Have to find Quin. If he's still alive, I need to find him.
