2: Three years? We just go from 8th grade to freshman year of band camp (if you sign up). That would mean that you can't start until your senior year? o_o 4: My school doesn't. They discontinued that a long time ago around here since...the company is dumb. 5: Only for band camp (Food for all of camp, shorts, and shirt, is $100. shoes cost an extra $20 if you buy them that year), and the big trip which is for everyone. 9: Band jocks? I've never heard that term before. o_o
Although it really should be considered a sport. Most people I know in band don't even know what DCI stands for/is. Unless they're in marching band and have listened to the director rant on and on and on for a few years. Then they have a chance of vaguely recalling it. >>

2. Marching Band takes at least 3 years of practice before you can even Start it.
I started Marching Band in my first year of playing an instrument. >_>

DumbaDociousDodeyHead it's not one of them 'sweat-so-hard-you-under-wear-is-wet' sports, but neither is archery, or hunting. Race-Car driving is considered a sport, and they hardly do anything physical. you can successfully lose up to 10 lbs in one race... although i think thats less from physical activity and more from sweat. but ill say i guarantee race car driving is a hell of a lot times harder than marching band.

Marching band is NOT a sport. You do practice, but not extremley physical stuff. If you think its a sport then you need a new activity.

If people don't believe marching is a sport....tell them to do a 2 to 5....
I feel so sad, crying the band has more spirit than the cheerleaders and football players put together(at least in my school it's that way) and yet, the band....NONE of the bands...not even jazz band (which got straight superiors) or wind ensemble(also stright superiors) was anywhere to be seen in the year-book....instead they put a 5 page essay on the football players( which sux cuz they dont win almost any games)...... And the art people were doing a mural on the wall and put all the team sports....EXCEPT MARCHING BAND!! gonk Sorry, I just felt like venting- has this ever happened to anyone here?

I believe with you guys whole-heartedly that Marching Band is a sport. Three years before marching band??? You can join Marching Band in the seventh grade at my school(well, we're also a small school!!!) I'll die when I can't be in Marching Band no more!!!!!!!
Yes, the Marching Bands show more spirit than the cheerleaders and football players combined. Last season, the cheerleaders had this one cheer, and our drummers would start it, and the cheerleaders would look at us dumbfoundedly. It was funny. It was like saying, "Haha, we're better than you!!!!!!" to them.
MARCHING BAND WILL NEVER DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
