"Sister...." A sigh left his mouth and his wings wrapped around his form. "I'm only trying to help her see that her behavior won't make things any better for us. Well M'lady my sister is right. We should be heading back. This is no place for a female." Bhàtair held out his hand to show that he would allow her to go before he followed but was surprised when the human didn't move.

"I think it would be best if I just went on my own. I've created some tension between you and your sister. Perhaps you should go and smooth things over with her. Though I do appreciate you defending me, she had every right I suppose to treat me the way she did. I am human after all and my people have done gargoyles wrong."

"Yes but she shouldn't punish the innocent for the wrongs of those committed in the past. Not just that but she could have really gotten herself hurt tonight. What if you had been a traitor and were meeting up with others. Humans may be weak but a group could do a great deal of damage to one of us. I'm trying to get her to see that her actions could not only hurt her...but the rest of us. If something happened to her we'd suffer....especially me."

An idea entered her mind and so she became more compliant with heading back and it seemed that Bhàtair had caught on for now he was walking along side her and Cordelia wasn't too far ahead. "So you like her huh? I can see why. She's no push over that's for sure and she's strong willed."

What had been a pretty quick flight was an irritatingly long (to her) walk. She knew they were behind her. She could barely hear them talking low amongst themselves. This, too, was irritating. If he liked the little human so much he could just keep her for all she cared. She grumbled and muttered to herself, wishing the distance between them and the gate would shorten faster. Of course, when they had at last reached the gate she didn't even look back to Bhàtair or the human girl and just kept going, climbing up the wall to slip away to her usual perch where she could be alone.

There she sat, looking miffed and none-to talkative as she glared down at those below.

This is precisely why Bhàtair kept to himself and didn't talk much. When it came to women, gargoyles that is, he didn't have a single inkling on how to survive or mingle. They were just so...so...different. So complex. "Hmm? Yes I do but I don't have the courage to tell her that. She wouldn't want a mate like me anyway. A human sympathizer is the last thing she'd want to be with." He sighed once more and looked up to where he saw Cordelia escape to. "How am I going to make up for the mess I've made?"

"You've seen how the males of my race make up to us females. Why don't you try one of those methods. Good luck to you and thanks for looking out for my well being." Cailin curtsied and then returned to her home. She really didn't want a repeat of earlier. She'd just go there tomorrow a little before sunset so that no one could stop her.

Bhàtair watched Cailin walk off and scratched the back of his head in contemplation. "Easier said then done." He took one more look up to Cordelia before gulping. She truly was a force to be reckoned with. Then an idea popped into his head and a small smile began to form on his lips. The human men always gave the females such things and they always seemed to cheer up after that. Perfect! Quickly turning back the way he came he took off running on foot only to soon begin running on all fours. Now where were they. He knew he saw them when returning back to the castle.

Ah! There they were! Dashing to his left, he continued running for a few feet then came to stop before a group of white plants. He took great care when picking them and once he felt he had obtained enough of them he made his way back. Hopefully she'd accept them and his apology. The walk back would help him sort out his words so that he could say what he wanted without angering her further and making himself look like a complete idiot.

Now upon the gates, he paused momentarily before continuing on. He climbed up the castle wall while holding the gift with his tail so that he'd not crush them in his climb and soon took to a perch near Cordelia. "Sister...I know that you do not wish to speak to me because of what happened so I'll make this quick. I want to apologize for angering and offending you." At this point Bhàtair was very thankful for his skin color else she'd notice him blushing. "When I heard your angered cry I grew worried....I thought that something may have happened and so when I saw that you were ok, I tried to show my relief but I went about it horribly. I never meant to lecture."

He took the gift from his tail and hesitated for a brief moment before he extended his hand. "I only hope that you will accept this as a symbol of my apology and feelings for you."

She looked over to see who had chosen to break her peace and almost balked. Of all the living creatures.... He HAS to have THE MOST masochistic personality she'd ever known. Bhàtair appearantly didn't know when to quit while he was ahead. She turned her eyes away from him angrily as he began appologizing and excusing himself. WORRIED about her? He was more worried about that little human female. She gave a mental eye roll at the notion. And if that was how he showed relief, she was going to start making sure things didn't go his way. ....Or she could shut him up. Whichever was easier.

She took his hesitation as her moment to strike, turning on him with a glare. "If you think for a MOMENT that you're going to get away wi-OH Myyy goodness those are pretty...." Her bright teal eyes stared at the flowers he was offering her, devoid of the fury she'd had a moment ago. Instead they were filled with questions as she took them and looked up at him. "Feelings?" Unfortunately for her the darkness of her flesh didn't mask her own blush, her cheeks becoming lighter with a pink tone.

"Yes. It's hard for a male not to take notice of a beautiful female like yourself. How graceful you are in all of your movements then there's the fact that your so head strong and loyal. It's hard not to grow attracted to you." He scratched the back of his head rather nervous. The last thing he wanted to do was to mess this up. "I've just never said anything because...well I know how you feel towards the humans so I thought the last thing you'd want was to be courted by a human sympathizer like me. I thought you could do better...find a stronger male and one that shared your views."

She shook her head, looking down at the flowers in her hands. "There are those who share my view within the clan. We all know it. But views aren't the only thing that drives one to find another. What I feel towards humans is something you've moved on about. I don't trust them, and you do. It's as simple as that and has nothing to do with what I long for in a mate." Looking up to him she gave him a smirk. "As for stronger males: I'm more fond of the down-to-earth, not all brawn kind. I'm not sure you qualify." With a playful smile she poked his arm. "You're rather beefy for the part. You sure you don't value muscle over brains?"

"If I valued muscles over brains do you think I would have brought you these flowers? No. I'd probably try to charm you with my body. Though I will say that I do think it's important to keep in shape." Good, he didn't stumble like he was about to. He didn't mention how her body charmed him so. Just keep breathing and think first before speaking and you'll be ok. "Now...I don't completely trust humans...for that would be unwise because of what is in their nature, however I do not think that all are bad. But enough about them. Lets talk more one what you seek in a mate. You like males that are down to earth. I like to think I fit that description. Anything else?" With the last question his tone held an underlying purr to it.

She raised an eyebrow. It seemed he was getting bolder now that he hadn't been tossed off the wall into the courtyard below. She smirked. "Hmmmmm..... Let me think...." What DID she look for in a mate? She hadn't actually put thought to it specifically. Sitting back she smirked at him playfully. "Well, he'd have to be dashingly handsome in that down-to-Earth way... He'd be kind of my opposite, since I like to butt heads on occasion. Of course he'd understand I still love him, I'm just contrary that way." She eyed him, watching his reactions as her fingers on one hand danced over the petals of the flowers he'd given her.

"Makes sense. Can't have two individual that like to butt headed. They'd never back down and thus never be able to get things settled. I think I could handle that." He moved a bit closer now, eager to learn more. "Tell me more." He payed very close attention, refusing to take his eyes off of her for fear of missing an important detail.

She smirked and shook her head. "I'm afraid that's it. That's all I have on the matter. Besides the usual female wants of 'don't be a slob' and 'may he respect me or face the consequences'. Other than that I'll just wing it, because I don't quite think I have a preference." She shrugged and looked up at him, raising an eyebrow. "And you, my rookery brother? What do you seek?"

His eyes were half lidded and without thinking of the possible consequences he answered the question. "You." For a moment his expression remained the same but then realization hit him and his eyes widened in shock. Did he just say that? Did he just say that out loud? His blush before mixed well with his complexion but now his blush became a darker red and very noticeable. "I...I mean....um.....that is....."

MY but he was bold. She blinked up at him. At least, until he darkened a shade or two and started sputtering. She couldn't help the laugh that bubbled up out of her at his look of surprise. "If you could only see yourself. You were so incredibly sure a moment ago..." Calming herself with a deep breath she lay her head on his lap and looked up at him, genuinely smiling. "Alright then.... maybe I'll let you have me. Do you think you're up to it?"

It was a like a chorus of angels were singing songs of praise onto him. She had just said something to him that he, up to this night had been dreaming of her saying to him. He smiled down at her, running a clawed finger along her cheek with great care. "I don't think I can even come close to explaining how much you have honored me just now but I will cherish this honor dearly and do all that I can to keep you happy."

"I have no doubt you will do just that." She nuzzled his thigh where her head lay on his lap. "Of course, you do know I really must do something to bring that color back to your cheeks again. It was rather adorable to find you blush that darkly." She smiled, her eyes alight with mischief.

"Oh you don't have to trouble yourself with such a task." He chuckled nervously, taking note of the mischievous gleam in her eyes. But then, his thoughts began to wander and a goofy grin that evolved into a sultry one curled his lips.
