Casia gave Keres a wry smile. "Dragged is more like it." she said jokingly. "Bonding activities and stuff, you know? Really nifty." Nifty was pronounced in a way that suggested it was synonymous with horrible. But the siren rallied, waving around at the place. "At least there's food and stuff." she said brightly. "Nothing much to eat at my guardian's place yet. She's still getting used to the fact that someone else lives there, and I was getting kind of sick of cereal and waffles." Waffles were good, yes, but in moderation. After two days, Casia had missed food that wasn't breakfast fare. "She's around here somewhere." The siren made a halfhearted attempt to find and introduce Jane but lost interest fairly quickly. She was in no mood to introduce the woman as her guardian to someone who she had last met with Anna.

Keres's eyebrows gave another animated shift as she gave a sarcastic "oh ho ho" laugh. She knew the whole bonding activities thing, though Anya and her Co. never used that precise wording (more like we're-going-to-go-do-some-"fun"-s**t-and-you're-coming).
"Mmm, bonding, sounds invigorating..." she drawled. She glanced down past her right shoulder at the table she had nearly knocked over not but few minutes ago. "And yeah, at least there's sweets and crap." She picked up one of the chocolate... ball things that sat in the table's bowl and held it up. "Such as chocolate," she stated with a smirk, then popped it into her mouth.
As she chewed, something about Casia's words suddenly struck the sphinx-girl as odd, and seeing as she never payed mind to people's personal space, she asked about it. "Wait," she began, and held a hand over her mouth since she was still chewing chocolate, "shouldn't your guardian be used to that by now? I mean, it's been a while."

Casia laughed, a musical trill. "Mmmm, I missed chocolate too." she said, helping herself to a piece. This was not a good idea as the next question made her swallow it whole. Coughing a little, she leanded against the wall for a moment while the weird sensation of it going down her throat passed. Keres still thought her guardian was Anna, must be. She opened her mouth to correct her. "Uh, well..." Well, she thought, why should she correct her? It would just be awkward and ruin the mood of the meeting. Plus it would be nice to pretend she was still living with Anna. Casia could dig that. "Well, you know parents." she finished lamely. "Sometimes they're really weird like that." She collected herself again and stood up, giving Keres a weak smile. "How's your guardian doing, then?" She didn't think she'd ever met the other girl's guardian, but something to distract them from the questionable validity of her recent statements would be welcome.

Bishop returned the tight hug and looked curiously at Kaimi, as much as the other girl seemed excited to see her she clearly wasn't all happy. " Do you wanna go talk in a corner or something?" she asked softly. For once then overly imaginative girl found herself grounded in reality, her boundless enthusiasm tempered with concern for her best friend.
Rook nodded, neglecting to add that he'd come into the cafe with a girl, not that it'd been easy to tell since Bishop had ditched him rather quickly. The boy's tail swayed behind him slowly " What do you want to do?" Rook was amicable to doing pretty much anything.

"Oh, I'd love that!" New places to shop was always something good. "And thank you. Anna almost made me wear something else because she was afraid it would clash too badly, but honestly, that woman would do anything to seem as boring and unnoticeable as possible.." She rolled her eyes, clearly indicating her level of scorn for Anna's non-existant sense of fashion and adventure.
"Really? That sounds interesting." Iselda thought for a moment. "What sort of style is she into?"

Sean thought for a moment, his eyes ducking down a bit as he did so. What would be the most fun...? He narrowly passed his sister a sideway glance from across the room. He then turned right back to Rook, his ears perking up as he said with great determination, "Lets make some slime! I know mom left the ingredients for it on the crafts table."
"It was called the Porcelain Parasol...it's privately owned, so I bet if you tried to find it it wouldn't be too hard...I'm not very good with directions, though, my mom likes to take us new ways when we go places more than once," she smiled a little, trying to make light of the last comment. After all, in hind sight it was a little funny, though when they did it it was more confusing than anything else.
"Well...she's into everything really. She likes all styles, but when she goes into one she gets very specific and detailed, you know?" Sophia found it was very difficult to describe her friend Eden. It'd probably be better if Iselda met her herself.
Jamie found very quickly that he wasn't needed in the slightest. He wasn't even a target for being social. Now, most kids might be upset with the lack of attention-after all, no kid really likes to feel left out. But for the moment, he didn't. As he watched the budding groups his quick mind found patterns and trends. He was finding observing to be very interesting as he set out the last bits of the refreshments.

Grabbing Bishop's hand, Kaimi squeezed it. "No, not here. I'll tell you about it when we have more privacy." She shook her head. "I want to have fun. I didn't think I would, but you're here and maybe Maddy and some other people we know will show up too." Kaimi, always the social butterfly, found herself reluctant to introduce herself to new people for once, though she knew that she should. Instead, she scanned the room to see if anyone else had shown up. So far she was the only teenager here and that felt a little weird. "Lets get a drink or something."

Slime making wasn't really high on list of things Rook wanted to do but he nodded anyways. Anything was better than standing around doing nothing. Even if it meant making slime and needing another bath later that evening. Not that Rook was opposed to bathing , considering his nature he found them quite fun to be honest. The three fingered boy simply hadn't been anticipating needing another.
Still, he smiled as he walked over to the grafts table with the other boy, glad his long pants and socks hid the shackle and chain aroudn his left ankle, he didn't want to have to try and explain those right now. "What colour are we going to make the slime?" he asked curiously, hoping it wasn't going to be like booger green. Bright orange or yellow might be interesting though, Pink in honour of the festival might even be tolerable but he didn't think the other boy would want that.
Bishop nodded " Ok, and I can tell you all about Rook getting bigger too and Andrea acting weird and then maybe more boys will show up and we can dance or something." Not a word of their pretend war or imaginary things passed through the owl girl's lips, it didn't feel right right now and she couldn't even really think of much that corresponded with this. " I dance a little a now becuase Rook plays fun songs for me to dance too."

"Ah, that sounds.. interesting." She commented, trying to be delicate about the situation - it honestly sounded as though Sophia's mom just got lost a little too often. "I'll have to look it up, I'm sure it'll be no problem at all." And it might give Anna something to do besides stare at her twenty-four-seven. It did get old, eventually.
She nodded, understanding perfectly. "I suppose everything has it's potential if given the correct amount of potential. And you? Do you have a preffered style of clothing?" She eyed the other girl curiously.

"Well...we have..." Sean nabbed the box of food coloring off the table and looked at its contents. It was only a standard set, so the colors weren't very interesting. "Well...we've got...red, blue, and yellow..." His brows furrowed a little as he stared at the colors. He wondered if he could make green by putting in a drop of blue and yellow together...it was worth a shot. Slim was only good if it was green.
"I don't know what color you want to make, but I'm going to mix mine!" He declared. He started to gather up his ingredients. They were all premeasured and set out in multiple sets, so kids who weren't very good with measuring and getting things together could still follow simple directions. It was a good thing. Sean wasn't very patient, he always over measured or under measured things. Being able to just stick it together was much easier.
"Me?" Sophia looked rather embaressed, "I'm not very good with fashion really...at least not with naming types or anything. I try to learn from Eden but...it doesn't usually stick. I just...pick what I think is cute, really. I do like dresses though and skirts. I know you can get some nice styles with pants and other things but...I'm just...I don't really want to wear them, I guess. They don't look very comfortable."
She returned the question with genuine interest, "What about you?"

"I love dancing. We'll have to make them play some music later on." Kaimi would have felt distressed at the rift that was showing between her and Bishop, but she was too distracted by her own issues to even notice. She hadn't even noticed Bishop's brother had gotten older.

Keres accepted Casia's answer with a knowing nod and gave no real inclination on whether or not she had actually believed her. Crossing her arms under her chest, she glanced up at the ceiling for a moment and shrugged her bare shoulders.
"Anya's OK. I think. Still as bossy and domineering as ever, though I think she's having more frequent bouts of cool-ness. It's just me and her at home for now... or well, for another week at least. Rann -- Anya's sister -- is like...hell, I have no idea where she is, and Isaac -- he's kinda like an uncle -- is leading crazyass people up some big dangerous mountain in uh.... Asia... or something." Keres bit at her bottom lip to try and remember the name... but she really sucked at those minute details.
"The mountain starts with an E or something. Whatever."
She blew a raspberry with her tongue and lips and then looked around at all the other people in the place. "What are we supposed to do here, anyways?" she asked Casia, though she didn't look at her as she did so.

Casia nodded. She wished that Jane had reached the point where she was kind of cool, but she had not even reached the point where she was kind of normal. "Mountains are fun." she hazarded. "Does he fight yetis and stuff?" Casia's knowledge of mountains had been somewhat expanded in class, but she refused to let go of yetis. After all, what fun was going up and down a mountain without any large-monster related danger? What was the point?
Looking around at all the pink, the siren shrugged. "Bonding? Romance? Both? I think the point is to give boys a lot of candy and get a lot of candy from boys, really." she said thoughtfully. "But the candy's already here." She frowned slightly at this dilemma, but it wasn't totally unwelcome. After all, it was still candy. "Maybe this party is like a practice Valentine's day." she suggested. "To get kids who are new at this used to it so they can give other people candy later and not do anything too radical."

Iselda nodded again and waved her hand dismissively at Sophia's embarrassment: "Names aren't everything, not even in the world of fashion." And it was true too - her mother had showed her some of the more expensive creations she owned, all created by an established and successful designer, and the little girl had boggled. Some of those things were downright hideous, and yet her mother treated them as though they were the robes of a god, just because some idiot with fame had lent his name to them! "And I suppose they don't, but they must be practical, yes? Pants, that is. They'd have to make for freer movement than these dresses." She gestured to her own, while not tight as such, still tight enough to inconvene, dress.
"Oh, I'm like you in that aspect. Anything that looks good is game." Her voice had picked up during their conversation, and by now the girl was positively lively. She loved fashion, but her only friend so far hadn't been very interested in it and Sophia was the only one who'd seemed interested as well so far.

" I'm going to go with blue" Seemed like the best choice to Rook, even if he the colour drops just right he could even figure out an exact shade. Picking out a set of ingredient the three fingered boy began following the instructions carefully. This was a part of the slime making process he could appreciate a carefully measured and balanced order to how things worked.
" I've never done this before" the boy admitted " You'll let me know if it comes out wrong though right?" Rook wasn't sure how exactly one could make slime wrong all you really needed was well liquid and some form of semi solid combined. This recipe was simply for a certain type of slime.
Bishop finally got Kaimi over to where there were drinks and smiled " What are you gonna have?"
