She thought about the question for a couple minutes before answering carefully. "No, but I'm used to being alone here and I dont mind it. And I can always go to sleep. I'm never lonely if there's dreaming. The coven isn't really one of those happy feelgood industries, you know? I'm not really one of them but they treat me better than an outsider." Most of the time. "You get lonely though, dont you?" Galleai knew that her nocturnal inclinations were by choice, where Ishi's werent. That probably made a big difference.

"Yeah, yeah I do," Ishi answered. "Not a whole lot, and not all the time, but sometimes." True, she wasn't a particularly social person by nature, but having somebody around to talk to other than the people she spent every day with was kind of a nice idea. She wasn't very good at friendship, and as time went on, she was getting worse and worse at it. It was getting to the point where she didn't even want to bother to talk to people. It just wasn't worth it.
"It's weird, though, knowing that people do all this stuff during the day, when I'm inside." She shrugged. "Like there's this whole other world that I don't even get to see, y'know?" But she wasn't sure Galleai did. This girl was a lot more like her than most children, even perhaps stranger. So maybe she really didn't feel the same desire to be alike that Ishi did.

It was true that Galleai didn't have any particular desire to be like everyone else. But she wouldn't be opposed to it if it happened. She did understand feeling left out of a secret, though. "Yes, but think of everything that they're missing that they don't know about. I bet most kids have never seen the world as quiet and still as it is at four in the morning. The earth holds it's breath during the day, but at night you can just feel it relaxing. Most people don't get that."

"That's true," Ishizuke said quietly, looking up at the sky and wondering if she perhaps had the better end of the deal. There was no noise at this hour, no commotion, hardly any traffic. She saw animals that nobody knew existed in the neighborhood at night. It was just that she really...didn't have anyone to share it with.
Until now, maybe. Ishi tapped her chin thoughtuflly as she looked at the other girl, suddenly realizing that they had never been introduced properly. She didn't even know her name. "I'm Ishizuke, by the way," she said quickly. "Ishi for short."

"They call me Galleai. So I guess you can call me that too. " Gal said, smiling a little shyly. "Or Gal. Sometimes people call me that, too." She held a hand out to Ishi. It was a gesture she'd seen people do when they introduced themselves, so it seemed appropriate.

Ishi smiled and took Galleai's hand, shaking it quickly before withdrawing to investigate this girl...who may or may not have become some sort of a new friend. It was a strange way to introduce herself, saying "they call me" instead of "my name is," but Ishizuke shrugged it off and smiled. She lived with vampires, so perhaps it made sense that she was so...unusual. "Pleasure to meet you, Galleai," she said quietly, looking up at the sky. The moon was finally above the tops of the nearby houses, but was still the fiery orange of early moonrise. As it was the closest Ishi came to sunrise, she took it for what it was and watched it, smiling.

"Where do you come from, Ishi?" She guessed that Ishi probably came from one of those 'normal' families. Everyone else she had met came from a more or less normal family. In the sense that their parents weren't vampires and they got fed on a regular basis and there werent pilgrims in coffins in the basement.
But Ishi was the first person Gal had met outside of the coven that couldn't go out during the day, so maybe her family was different like she was.

"My mother and my mother's close friend have raised me, but my sister is a synthetically-produced being with no emotional center, and I'm currently staying with my mother's laboratory partner. I am beginning to suspect he's some sort of mad scientist," Ishi answered vaguely, preoccupied with the sky. Running her fingers through her hair, she glanced over at Galleai. "Normal for Gaia, I guess."
Her family wasn't really the odd bit, she was the strangest part of it. Perhaps Angelique and her halted emotional development would strike some as strange, but overall, Ishi was much odder.

Gal had never really felt compelled to talk about her homelife, but there was something strange about Ishi that made her feel comfortable opening up. "I call Leeward daddy, he's the head of the coven. But he really gave me to Nicola in the beginning. Leeward scares a lot of people." Including her sometimes.

"Juno's scary too," Ishizuke said reflexively, rubbing her lower lip and considering Galleai's words, "or...at least, he scares a lot of people. But I think it's probably a different kind of scary," she finished, looking thoughtfully at Galleai. "I don't really call anyone dad. Nereus is kinda like my dad, but he's not with Mama, so I guess he's not actually." She shrugged. "Families get weirder than people seem to think, a lot of the time." Truthfully, Ishizuke couldn't think of anyone she knew with the simple two parents: one male, one female dynamic. She was beginning to wonder if families like that just didn't exist at all.

Gal felt a bit of a bond with Ishi. They both stayed out at night and they both had guardians who scared people. That was more in common than she had with anyone else she'd met before. She tucked a strand of hair behind one winged ear and shifted on the swing, just to hear it creak. "What do you do when you're out wandering?" She asked curiously. She knew that she just wandered for the sake of solitude and exploration. But maybe Ishi had a goal.

Ishizuke was significantly happier than she had thought she'd be, particularly with a girl she had initially been completely ready to take her anger out on. But she supposed she couldn't be too surprised about that. After all, it was Juno's fault she was angry in the first place. Considering Galleai's newest question, she shrugged and looked up at the sky. "Dunno," she answered. "Mostly I just find somewhere to sit and watch the stars. Sometimes I just run, for the hell of it." She shrugged again. "Don't really have much of a plan, I just....do stuff. Nothing really interesting."
"And you?"

"I just sort of wander around until I find somewhere I like. Sometimes" Galleai flushed a bit "sometimes I look in at people's windows when they're doing things as a family. 'Cause it's not like that at the coven. I like to visit places that feel lost and lonely." She thought a little more about this. "Though there was a fair on the pier awhile ago. I went there and went on a ride. We could see if it was still there if you wanted."

Well....that was creepy. But not in a really bad way. Ishizuke kind of liked the morbidity of the statement. It was a nice way of thinking. The idea of a fair was an interesting one, and she was pretty sure that as long as she was back an hour or two before sunrise, she wouldn't get in trouble. Angelique would come find her if she was needed.
"Sounds like fun," she said thoughtfully. "I don't spend a lot of time down by the water. Mama worries about me drowning." Nodding, she stood up.

Gal also stood up and stretched a bit, looking around the neighborhood. "I think it was in that direction." She said. It smelled like salt and sea from that direction, at least. So that had to be about where the fair had been, right? "You dont know how to swim?" She asked, that would be another thing they had in common if it was true. Gal hadn't learnt how to swim in the waking world yet.
