Red Aikenka I'm on Chapter 7, and I'm like 90% sure I know who the "J.S." is.
I also picked up a copy of the Unauthorized Autobiography while I was there, cause I haven't read it yet, and I'll need that when I'm done with TPP.
I have learned, that from now on, whenever I see a word I don't recognize, even back when it was Sunny's baby talk, I look it up. Some of his titles or names are little inside jokes on definitions. I love that about this series. Cafe Salmonella! xd I was sitting there reading that one and I was like IT'S A DISEASE, DAGNABUT! Still don't have the book... neutral I'm getting it this weekend.... B&N cards rock!

who is it *laughs maniacally at being the fist to say he has finished the book... unless other people have read it. anyone find it weird that for once, the pic on the back of the book shows the hotel burning instead of the 3 orphans?

Ainahau I guess I'm the only one REALLY, REALLY excited about the book, then!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, I've been counting down the days for a looooong time! And for some odd reason, I'm re-reading the 1st book. I almost cried when I re-read the Klaus got slapped. I was really sad. No.....maybe I'm just pathetic.
Book I've read so far: 1, 2, 3, a few pages into 4, 5, and 11. (About to be 12!!!)
My mom and I are going to go get the book tomight! Whee! And then I'm gonna tell eveyone that I have it! Lol, okay. I think it's time for me to shut up now.
(WAS I the only sad person when Klaus got struck? sweatdrop ) no i was so sad i cried poor klaus!!!! any ways i got the book like right after school it was soooooooooooooooooo exiting

lol.. SO today, I was sitting in class reading the book, rather then taking notes.. And normally the teacher freaks when people arnt paying attention to her, so she looks over at me, stares for a few secs at the book, then exclaims "OH! Is that the new Lemony Snicket book?!?!?!" and then we talk about the books for about 10 minutes while the rest of the class just stares at me. lol. It was very funny!

The thing I don't get is, I wonder how the last picture is a clue to the final book. I looked at the picture forever, and I couldn't figure it out.
Oh, and I was wrong and yet right at the same time about the J.S.

Is there a misprint of the book?!On my copy of the book anyways.. the spine of the book, its printed upside down! I live in eastern Canada.. So I dont know if its all copys, or the just ones printed in this area. Also.. I was thinking it could have something to do with the story. Im not very far in, but maybe theres a reason in the book for it? I dont know.. But its pretty weird for them to make such a big mistake!
also.. Ill get a pic when I get a chance*Edit:* Heres the pic.. The back cover is the same way as the front cover, so I didnt bother scanning it. As you can see the writting on the spine is upside down!! (like.. the 12 and the snicket.. and the writing that is sideways I think is facing the wrong way.. but Im not sure, I need to compare still with my other books

Snickler On my copy of the book anyways.. the spine of the book, its printed upside down! Mine's not like that.. But hey, misprinted copies are sometimes worth a lot. whee Or, that could just be a Canadian version. I think it's really awsome that the audio version of the book (available on itunes) is narrated by the fabulous Tim Curry. He has the right voice for it..

The cover looks so cool! I just got a few hours ago, but I'm still very excited. Though, I have to be careful about where I read it because if my brother or my sister sees it, they're likely going to grab it away from me, and put it in some unknown place, where I'll probably get it again next month. Other than that, I can't believe it's finally out!!

I just got it, and it sits on my table as I type. However, I've only read the first page, and plan to continue shortly.

You'll love it, it's the best book yet, watch out for the Sebald code on page 67.

My Canadian version looks fine, so it's probably a misprint, although I'd think misprints were a little less valubable, because well they have mistakes on them, but thats just my opinon.

Yeah, Id think so too... But I guess 'true collectors' might want them, and because there would be less of them (the publisher might want to correct the msitake ASAP) those who had them could sell them for a bit more money? ..I dont know.. lol
