MacCloud felt her sword as it hit his. He then tired to keep his own in his paws. He did a good job, but after all he was a begginner and his sword fell to the ground.

"Very good pretty lass. I see you have bested me." He chuckled as he knew it wouldn't have been hard. Still, it was nice to fight against someone real and it was better for him to learn.

Nek held her position a little longer before straightening and sheathing her sword with a small sigh. The spar didn't last near as long as she had hoped it would, MacCloud was only a beginner it seemed. A thought alit somewhere in her mind and she looked back down at MacCloud thoughtfully.

"They say the best way to learn is to teach," she commented, picking up his sword and inspecting it. The rest of her afternoon was basically free as she kept to her own schedule, though delaying here meant it would take her longer to reach the mountain. She shrugged at herself, thinking that expanding upon her own swordmanship and helping another to expand theirs would be a worthwhile pause, but still it irked her a little that a possible cavesystem would be avoiding her for a few more hours.

She held it sword back out to him with only a small frown, "So what would you say, Mac? I'm still only a bit of a beginner myself." That would be as close as she got in saying 'would you like me to show you how to use your sword?'.

MacCloud took back his sword with a smile. "Aye, lass that would be right kind of ya. However, I don't want to keep you from anything. I know I did interrupt ya." MacCloud was a nice guy and very unselfish. Sure he would love to learn how to use his sword better, but if that meant keeping someone from something then he wouldn't like that.

MacCloud then remember his paw. He put down his sword and sat back on his back legs. He lastly stuck the cut paw in his mouth. "Even so, a rest is good." He said after he took his paw out of them mouth.

"I'm not going anywhere in particuliar," she said, waving her hand and walking back to her small satchel, "I need to stock up on provisions anyways." Grimacing at the small amount of fish she had left, her little excersize leaving her hungry again, she dug one out and chewed on it again while counting off how many of what she would like toget for supplies.

Fruit was always good, though it was still too early in the spring for that, same for vegitables. Fish was nice, but it got tiresome after a while. It would be good if she could find some small animal to catch. She sighed, all that would have to wait until later, as she sat down with her back against the tree to think on what she should do next.

Actually looking forward a little to what could be a teaching excersize, though MacCloud had yet to agree to it, she decided she'd probably like to have lunch before engaging in anymore strenuous activity.

"Oh, aye supplies are always good to have." MacCloud nodded. "Aye I would love to be taught a thing or two by you, lassie." MacCloud bowed to her and then sat back down. He still thought a rest was good, but he didn't want to offend the lady.

"We can find some lunch, first," she said, gripping her sword and resolving to herself that finding her caves was worth eating only fish until spring, "There's a spring this way, if you know how to build a fire I can spit some fish to eat." Without quite waiting for a reply, figuring she'd just light a fire when she got back if he didn't know how, though it seemed like he was one who would.

Finding her way to the stream, she uncoiled her whip and tied the end to her sword hilt before flipping it into a throw-hold. All she had to do was wait for a good-sized fish to come along and she would have lunch. When a large fish finally came into her veiw, probably in search of the smaller fish that had been crowding the area so far, she took aim and launched her sword at it.

It hit the water with barely a splash and she was able to haul the fish in without even its death struggles to fight against. Belatedly, she wondered if the other creatures here were vegitarians, then she shrugged the thought aside and set the fish to the side before looking for another to spit. If Mac didn't want the fish then he could scrounge for his lunch and she could smoke the fish to use as part of her provisions. Having a big fish would be preferable to just the tiny snack-fish she had had to use a net to catch.

Catching two more good sized fish, though neither were as big as the first, she speared all three onto her sword and strolled back to MacCloud with it hefted over her shoulder. The trees too thick for her to see if there was smoke or not, she could only wait to see if there was a fire or not.

MacCloud nodded and watched the anthro walk off. He put his sword on his back and went off to find wood. He found a few smaller sticks and figured they would be good for kindling. The male drug them back to their spot and then went off again.

This time he found a few nice logs. He nosed it over and then rolled it to where they would need it. He did this for the few other logs that he had found. Once the logs and sticks were together he arranged them for a fire.

Lastly he did his best with trying to light the fire. He tired many different techniques and after a while he had gotten it going. It was a small fire at first with one log and sticks but soon the log was getting more fire on it. Mac the placed another log on the fire to really get it going.

She broke through the underbrush to feel the warmth of the fire before she saw it, looking down and nodding satisfactorily at the good-sized blaze. Setting down her fish, she found some nice 'y' shaped branches and stuck them on either side of the fire, finding another straight stick to later spear the fish with.

As she didn't really have a hunting knife, Nek took the fish off of her sword and gutted them at the same time, simply pulling them off along their backs. It took a swing from the sword, however, to behead them. She grimaced, as it wasn't a task she enjoyed. Shrugging, since it was better than beheading some other type of animal, she finished the chore and set them on the stick, then moved the stick to balance it between the two branches.

"How's that?" she asked, mainly because she usually asked the question to herself in her mind whenever she finished a task. It only took the presence of another for her to move into saying the question aloud.

"Oh aye Lassie very nice. All of them will taste nice I'm sure." MacCloud told Nek after she was done. Himself he just stuck the fish on a stick and roasted it. Then again he wasn't a two legger so maybe his tastes were more of a four legged animal then that of a two legged human. MacCloud often wondered what were the other differences other then looks of course.

MacCloud walked over and nodded. "I can roast mine if that's okay with you." He wasn't sure if she was going to roast them all herself or not so he thought it was a good idea to offer.

"That would be fine," she replied, actually preferring it since she didn't know how he liked his fish cooked. Herself, she usually dried her food so that she could take it with her later, but drying took a while and she was a little more hungry than what was in her stores at the moment.

Once the fish was roasted to her satisfaction she dug in, eating and digging in her satchel at the same time. Normally she didn't use any type of bag or carrying device besides the leather compartements she had hidden on the inside of her belt. But she figured this trip would warrant a little something extra since she didn't know the terrain.

Not really good at conversation, yet feeling somewhat ackward eating with another in silence, she ventured a question, "So why does a four-legged Namir like you carry a sword, anyways?"

MacCloud roasted his fish and once it was done he blew on it too cool it before starting to eat. He smiled at the anthro at her question. "Well, lass, I went on a treasure hunt with a nice lass. Once we found it we could only keep one thing. This sword stood out to me so that's what I took. Oddly I feel it was meant for me." He looked at his sword as he ate. "Now I'm looking to learn to use it, better anyway."

A small, confused expression took over her eyes as MacCloud spoke of his sword, "I think I know what you mean..." She shook her head, eyeing her sword distrustfully for a few seconds before continueing to eat and attempt conversation.

"I could try to help you use it, as I said," she shrugged, "But I don't think I can promise anything since I've never tried using a sword with paws before..." In fact, growing increasingly uncomfortable with trying to speak to another, she was wondering if suggesting a lesson was such a good idea after all. Her fish snapped a little as she took a rather feirce bite out of it, determining that she would give the lesson whether she now wanted to or not since she was the one who suggested it and originally wanted to.

MacCloud nodded. "Aye, these are the things that we belong to, they don't belong to us." The male said as he looked to his sword before eating a bit more.

He watched as she didn't seem to want to talk or something. "Well, only if you want to lass. I would very much like it, but only if you want." MacCloud wasn't one to make someone do something and he wasn't sure she truly wanted to or was just being polite.

"It does not feel very nice, belonging to a thing," Nek muttered, refusing to look at her sword, "Then it feels like you are obligated to do something when you already have other obligations that do not coincide with the sword's." How her other obligations hadn't fit with whatever she had been expected to do with the sword in her own world she was not sure, but now that she was in Namiah, the obligations of either didn't really seem to matter anymore.

Nek gritted her teeth for a moment before forcing her face to relax so she could say calmly, "I said I would like to give you a lesson and so I would like to give you a lesson." Lying was never a strong skill for her, but stubborness was a skill she couldn't seem to get rid of.

Finishing off her fish she stood up, pausing to brush her pants off and move her satchel closer to the tree before walking a few steps and stretching. One should really wait for their stomache to settle before doing any excersizing, she thought, so she merely picked up her sword and sat by the fire again to clean it. "I really should have cleaned this before..." she muttered, realizing that she had fallen into the habit of actually getting distracted by all the people her human constantly forced her into meeting.

McCloud nodded. "Aye, lass then I accept your proposal." He was happy to learn from her even if she might not really want to teach him. Mac had a hard time with his sword being that he was on four legs and any help he could get was good enough for him.

The male has finished his food and just sat there looking into the fire. He knew that it wasn't time to learn just yet, so he decided to let his mind focus on the fire as to prepare himself for the fight.
