Rai chuckled a little, rubbing the back of his head. "Where I come from, kids don't just pop up at the drop of a hat like they do here. You could go out and buy a toy and wind up with the thing calling you its parent the next day! But..." He smiled, "I don't mind it. I happen to like my little girl, even if she did come from a purple bellhop."

That set the little one off in a fit of excited chirrups and squeaks. Both ears stood up straight and fluttered, her eyes growing wide as she reached out to try and touch the ears. They were just like hers! Was he some lost brother, or was he a magician? The child couldn't decide as she stared up at them in wonder.

The ears wavered a little, not exactly one of his usual tricks. It was gratifying to see how excited the toddler had gotten. The most he could get out of Aysel was a thrown pillow. Korin shook his head, dispelling the ears.

The teen glanced at Rai, listening despite his antics with Amber. "Really?" he asked, starting to get interested. "Then... Where do kids come from? Test tubes like Aysel?"

The teen would bear witness to Rai's descent into complete and utter loss of eloquence. A scarlet hue crept up on his features and he coughed into his hand, looking away a bit and seeking out ANYTHING to say. Did the boy not yet know of the finer...intricacies...of that matter? The man grabbed at the first thing that came to mind, blurting out, "Storks" before he knew what he was saying. "They come from...storks...with their long beaks...and such." Were it any other of his family members, the poor boy would have, more than likely, been told the outright, and very crass version of the truth - but how could the man of considerable reputation among the medical community simply tell the teen 'From ********.' As his relatives would have been opt to do.

The toddler mimicked him, setting her ears back as far as they could go and putting her hands over her eyes, as though they had vanished. However, she was not as skilled at the total transformation, and only succeeded in making herself a 'Bunnyloaf'.

(( And just for the record, a bunny loaf is Bunny Loaf ))

Korin just stared at the man in confusion. "Storks?" he echoed, watching red infuse the man's face. How were storks any different from toys and such. "What's so embarrassing about storks?" he muttered mostly to himself. Korin shrugged, resolving to ask his mom about storks... Though she probably wouldn't know either. Maybe he should just go to the library after this.

The teen glanced at the older man, taking in the stricken look. A wave of guilt crashed down on him and Korin glanced away. "I..I'm sorry for embarrassing you..."

He was so intent on avoiding the Rai's embarrassment he completely missed Amber's stunning transformation.

Raizen regained grounding on the matter and shook his head a little. "Storks, and then storks, Milad...I'm not the best person to ask. No need to apologize, but, if I let's change the subject from how...children...come about?" He quickly chose a secondary subject. "Are the children around here always so varied? I now have a bunny, a fae, and a...not sure what he is...he USED to be my figurine."

Amber peeked out from behind her hands and squeaked, hiding quickly again, pleased her disguise was working so well.

It was still baffling, but if the other man didn't want to talk about it then....Korin shook his head, focusing on the man's other question.

"Umm.. Mostly. My sister's a luna moth, and I've seen kids made out if crystal or plants around town." He paused considering, "But.. the parent's are nearly just as varied. Mom said Gaia's," he narrowed his eyes trying to recall how she had put it, "too young to have settled down yet?"

During their conversation the line moved up once more. The parlor was being ungodly slow today. The trio was still fairly far away from the counter.

This was simply astonishing. He'd never imagined so many different creatures could coexist without a major flaw in their social structure to cause a fuss amongst them. It was certainly a pleasant change. Raizen smiled a little at the loose way he put the wayward actions of the planet. It explained a lot in a simple way.

The man glanced at the front of the line, wondering what was taking them. Ah well, at least he had company. He decided to try and start the conversation back up. "I wonder what would happen if you got them all in one place..."

Korin narrowed his eyes in confusion. "All who together in one place?"

He blinked, motioning to the varying array of people around them. "All the different kinds of people, I guess. It would be interesting to see their cultures mix."

Korin blinked, now utterly bewildered. "But.. Isn't that what it's like here?" The man was making absolutely no sense. Why gather all the people, when all the people were already gathered?

He shook his head as the line moved up one more spot. Soon it'd be his turn to get ice cream.

Honestly the man hadn't considered that. His gaze swept over the crowd and he chuckled softly, noting the boy's good sense. "So it is...I suppose one can overlook the obvious quite easily when one thinks too hard." Observing them for a few minutes, he hummed softly, occasionally casting his gaze towards the counter to see whether they would be moving soon or not.

More patient than he by far was the child who chirruped softly, carrying on a conversation entirely her own. The noise wasn't a constant, but a mixture of intermittent quips, nose wiggles, and ear motions that spoke of some secret language - however primitive that was. After all, the girl was only so old after all and was by no means versed in her father's eloquence yet.
