Bal gave a startled, laughing cry and stumbled back into the snow. He tried to scramble up again, but he was not quite quick enough and Skylar got him. Still half-laughing, half-grinning, he got the rest of the way up, knocked the snow off of his pants and took off after Morgan.
"Oh, definitely. I wish my sister had been able to turn into a dog," Laura said, and smiled. "I wonder if you could put out an ad in the paper...?" she mused absently, apparently in response to the Nu Mou issue. "I'm sure there's other Nu Mou out there, looking too."

Morgan yelled with glee and ran towards the series of plastic tubes his brother had appeared from, maybe if he got inside them he could escape before being caught.
" We're trying the internet first since there always seems to be one of something there " Caleb said. his eyes slowly moving to watch the game of tag taking place " They're going to sleep well this afternoon"

Bal chased after Morgan, trying to catch him before he made it into the tubes, and very nearly did -- he reached, small hands grasping at the air in front of him, and then the other boy was gone and Bal was after him, his knees banging on the plastic bottom of the tube.
"I hope so," Laura said, smiling absently. "I have the worst time getting Bal to take a nap; he never admits that he's tired."

Morgan scurried through the tubes just ahead of his pursuer popping out of the end of one and landing in a somewhat slushy snow pile. The Nu Mou child eye's grew while and he began to screech. Wet oh gods he was wet and it was evil and cold and someone needed to make it stop right now
Caleb laughed at that " Morgan and Skylar usually just hit this like exhaustion wall and then they're dead weight but easy enough to pick up and put down for naps." It was convenient though Caleb doubted it would last.
" Though like all kids they are perf-" he was cut off by Morgan's yell, he couldn't see what was wrong but he could here where the cry was coming from and ran to investigate.

Laura jumped in alarm at the sudden cry and frantically scanned the area. "Was that your-" she began, but Caleb was already up and running. She followed him, suddenly terrified that one of the children had fallen and hurt themselves badly.
Bal had almost gotten close enough to tag Morgan when he barreled out of the tube and screamed. He was almost as startled as Morgan was. He hadn't expected him to scream.
"Are you okay?" he asked uncertainly, climbing out of the tunnel behind him. It seemed like a stupid question to ask, because the other boy was screaming and nobody did that when they were okay, but he did not understand why it wouldn't be. It was just slush, sort of cold, and...and wet. He thought for a second, then grabbed Morgan's arm and tugged him into drier snow.
"S'not so wet here," he said, trying to sound reassuring. He did not know how to solve the problem of wet clothes, though, so he looked over his shoulder at the adults, who were rapidly approaching and did know, maybe.

Skylar watched from several feet away as Bal pulled his brother from the slushy puddle. He wanted to comfort Morgan but he was yelling so loud and it hurt the boy's ears. The Nu Mou child instead watched nervously and hoped for the best.
Morgan was no longer in the slush for which he was thankful but his clothes were still wet and it was driving the boy crazy. He cries lowered into terrified sobs and tried to look gratefully at Bal.
Once the boys were in sight Caleb felt the knot in his stomach loosen. " He's fine , just wet," the man reassured laura as the reached the children and he lifted the still upset Morgan into his arms, ignoring as his own shirt got a bit damp in the process.
Caleb knew the water couldn't hurt Morgan but letting him continue to cry and shake in fear wasn't good for him either. The longer he stayed wet and upset the harder it would be to calm him down later. " I'm sorry but I think it's time for us to go"

"Oh, of course," Laura said, nodding and looking at the little boy with concern. "It was nice meeting you, though. Hope we see you again."
Bal bit his lip, watching Caleb pick Morgan up with a similar expression of concern. He was not sure what had happened, but it had been frightening and he hoped his new friend was all right.
"'Bye, Skylar, 'bye, Morgan," he said uncertainly. "I hope you feel better."

Morgan waved , still too upset to talk yet.
" Thank you for saving him" Skylar said as he walked past Bal, the boy was clearly braver than he would have been.
Caleb nodded and smiled at Laura " Same here" he said before making sure Skylar was beside him and hurry away towards the car. Well this had been an interesting day.
