Aki passed by the purple and white vixen, this time with more space between them, and gave a quick "Hi!". As she neared that clearing she slowed to a crawl so that she didn't bust through the trees and disturb the scene. She turned to Kiroko and the vixen from the pond and shushed them. Then she lept behind Kiroko and pushed him into the clearing. The scene was almost the same. Everything was a shade or two darker than it had been due to the setting sun. The fireflies shown brighter than before. All and all, Aki still thought the clearing was breath taking. She sat next to her friend and the pond vixen and smiled.

Kioko nodded to another vixen as he ran after Aki. She had some interesting markings but that would have to wait. Aki slowed so quickly that Kiroko nearly ran into her. But thankfully he managed to stop himself in time. He gave Aki a confused look as she hushed him and was about to ask her what was going on when the vixen jumped behind him and pushed him into a clearing.

He was stunned. Everything was all to perfect. The color of the sky, the dark forest, the blinking fireflies, and the vixen. She fit the scene all to well. Such a cool purple with such a warm orange. Just like the sky and the flickering fireflies around her. Kiroko was caught in the moment, gazing at the vixen and the surrounding clearing. He was taking in every last detail his mind's eye could capture.

Borealis followed behind Aki a little more slowly than Kir did, giving the white and purple vixen they passed a quick smile before going through the bushes on the other side of the path. She nodded Aki when she shushed her and Kir and followed them silently into the clearing. She couldn't help her quiet gasp of awe when she saw the clearing though. It had never been this beautiful in all the time she'd been in this forest.

The fireflies danced in a mesmerizing circle above and all around the pure white rock in the center. The last rays of the sun and the coming moonlight didn't war with each other as they usually did at this time. Instead, they perfectly accented the beautiful purple vixen that sat atop the center rock and made her look like a goddess. Her orange markings contrasted wonderfully with her purple fur, made even more noticeable by the flaming orange the setting sun's rays produced.

((Did I describe Shroka's clearing well enough for you?))

She continued staring at the glowing bugs, her eyes now back to their now normal hollow state. When she had realized it was the green city-male that had entered the clearing, she quickly lost interest. Now his constant staring was getting on her nerves and making her feel self conscious. She shifted once more, and turned her shimmering silver eyes upon him, the fireflies glowing brighter in an attempt to gather her attention once more.

She turned her chest slightly more towards him, lifting her front paw so it would be easier to approach or run away. Some would say her posture looked like a refferance for a stag, others to behold the sleek vixen for what she was. Flicking her tail, a small breeze came again, rippling her fur once more. The pond-vixen entered the clearing by now as well, but Shroka had no patience for new arrivals. She turned her head away from the male and female, looking at the woods that she had come from, almost like she had heard her name being called from someplace far away.

She looked at the male once more, her eyes slight more interested than before. Then she turned and leapt off the white stone, seeming to sail through the air. She landed, the flowers coming up to her mid-leg. She held the stag-posture again, looking at the male and newly joined female in an almost wistful way, then departed into the trees. The fireflies, ever faithful, followed the vixen, and were gone. All that was left was a wild-flower clearing with a white rock jutting out of the middle with the last of the sun's rays quickly fading.

((...... Okay. That's enough White Fang reading for me!))

Borealis couldn't help but to be entranced by the strange vixen. She watched her every move, wondering in the part of her brain that could still work why she looked so hesitant. She looked back and forth between the purple vixen and Kir, feeling a slight twinge of jealousy when she realized that the vixen was looking only at him. He too looked completely entranced with the female. The vixen hesitated for a moment more, then neatly leaped down from her perch into the wildflowers below.

Odd... Borealis thought to herself, watching the purple vixen deliberate once more. She seemed to be torn between her desire to run away and her curious, and slightly annoying, fascination with her new friend. Here I am feeling jealous about an attractive vixen staring at a male I just met...yet I have no claim on him, nor do I know anything about him. Still, she felt another twinge of jealousy at the wistful glance the vixen gave Kir before she finally decided to run, taking the fireflies with her. The magic feeling slowly faded from the clearing. It was still beautiful, but now felt empty in the absence of the strange vixen.

Tsuki growled a little as some random vixen ran into her and past her twice. She watched as another vixen and male passed her in a hurry. She followed them to see where there were going. She walked off to the left of them when they came to a clearing and noticed another vixen and some fireflies. Tsuki walked a little ways into the clearing not enought to get to much attention for the other foxes but enough to get the some fireflies to come her way. She watched as they danced toward and away from her as well as along her body and her tail.

In an attempt to completely capture the scene, Kiroko's eyes were circling the clearing trying not to miss any reflection, any flower, any firefly. They stopped only to meet the silver eyes of the new vixen. These were not the eyes he expected to see. The clearing was warm with the glow from the sun and fireflies. The clearing seemed so happy to hold such a vixen but her eyes, they did not match the clearing at all. Kiroko felt a coldness, an emptiness when he looked into the eyes of the beautiful vixen. A chill ran over him and his eyes returned to the flowers and the blinking bugs that flashed above them.

He felt her eyes fall upon him but he could not bring himself to meet her gaze. He wanted to savor the warmth of the light that was quickly fading. Once the vixen had left the rock, he observed its shape and shadows. Though her eyes seemed to pain him, Kiroko's eyes returned to see the departing figure disappear into the trees.

Still looking in her direction, he was still for many moments. Then he let out a sigh and sat down. He smiled at Aki who looked like she was longing after the fireflies. "Thank you Aki. I have captured enough of this clearing to recreate it. I'll make it beautiful again. But the vixen.." He paused and looked at the rock. "She will not appear in my painting. Though her fur and appearance matched the setting sun, her eyes... Her eyes did not match the warmth that I have captured."

Aki smiled that the vixen on the rock even to she looked a bit annoyed that unknown foxes had entered her clearing. It wasn't long before the fireflies held all of Aki's attention. Their blinking glow excited her. She wanted to pounce them and play but she knew better than to disrupt the scene Kir was trying to capture. It was when the fireflies disappeared out of the clearing that Aki realized the purple vixen had left. Though she knew there were other fireflies else where Aki couldn't help but pout a bit at their departure.

Aki looked at Kir as he spoke and was glad that he had found something he could paint. She didn't fully understand why he wasn't going to paint the vixen that was on the rock but that didn't really matter to her.

Borealis was surprised to find herself staring after the vixen when she heard Kir thank Aki. She had been wondering what had seemed...off to her about the vixen, and nodded when Kir mentioned the lack of warmth in her eyes. Yes, almost like she had no life left in her... She gave a small, silent sigh of relief when she heard Kir say he wasn't going to include the breathtaking vixen in his painting and sat down as well. Almost immediately she felt annoyed with herself for that feeling of relief. He'll be returning to the city as soon as he's finished finding his inspiration. I shouldn't get so...attached...

She felt her thoughts trail off as she realized what Kir had said. She looked back at him and said "Are you leaving so soon?" A wave of despondency washed over her, and though she managed to keep it hidden from her posture, she was sure her eyes would betray her. She didn't feel annoyed at herself this time, she was too focused on the fact that he may be leaving.

Tsuki walked over to the male that was talking about leaving. "Where would you go boy? Why would you want to leave the wilderness where you get to see beautifull things like this?" she said calmly but with an edge in her voice.

Shroka continued walking, the fireflies darting this way and that. She hadn't even noticed that some of their number were missing, and probably won't have made much of a fuss if she had. Why had she gone to that clearing? Why had Jhaid's face, smiling like he always had, appeared to her before the green city-male and strange colored pond-vixen had entered into her clearing? She suddenly felt a shift in her vision, a low femine growl starting in her chest. Not this torment again!

The silvery trees shifted and warped, becoming distorted and hazey. For and shadows rolling in, covering the ground like a heavy blanket. Then he as there. "Jhaid......", she whispered, her heart clutching at the sight of him. There he was, trapped in a golden light, smiling at her lovingly. Three female kits danced around him, beaming at Shroka like she was an angel. Her parents, and her siblings, and their families too! They were all there, shimmering behind was appeared to be a golden glass.

She took a small step forward, her heart moaning with longing. Suddenly, the smoke around her family rose up, becoming pitch black humans. They rose up to where they almost touched the trees, so large and frightening were they. Her family turned terrified, racing around their prision, soundlessly calling out her name, calling for her aid. But she could do nothing, trapped like she had been, except within her own body. The humans collapsed down upon her glowing family, smothering out their warm light, and she screamed within her head, her heart ripping to shreads.

Then, a human figure rose up infront of her, its hands poised to capture her as well. "NO!", she screamed, breaking free of her trance. "Why won't you leave me alone?!", she yelled, tears streaming down her face. She hadn't realised that she had begun crying. Nor had she the ability to stop her trembling. "Why.... Why don't you leave?", she whispered, choking on a few sobs as her body racked with them. She raced forward, straight through the illusion.

She ran, blinded by tears, through the woods. She had lost her sense of direction, running was all that mattered. She raced through a pool, asmall waterfall pouring into it. It was in the pool that she slipped on the opposite edge, collapsing half-in half-out of the water. She didn't try to get up, she was too weak with greif. "Jhaid..... Why won't you find peace?", she choked out, sobbing into her paws. Unnoticed, the fireflies surrounded her once more, flitting this way and that with anxiety for their mistress.

A few flitted off, back to the other foxes. Perhaps they could help their Lady of Light.....?

(( She's beautiful.... and a little crazy.))
((Now, imagine that vision except ten times worse and you'll see what she saw every waking minute before she met Starrla.))

The tone of Borealis' question snapped Kiroko back to reality. He was about to answer her when the vixen they had passed on the path spoke to him. Being so focused on capturing the clearing in his mind, he hadn't realized she was there.
"Oh, hello." Like before he bowed his head to acknowledge the vixen. He turned back to Borealis. "I don't have to leave yet. I can stick around for awhile." Then turning back to the newest vixen he smiled and said "I would be going back to the city where my tribe and I live. The wilderness can be beautiful, as I have recently learned, but out here, I can't do what truly makes me happy." It was strange to feel sad about going back to the city he loved. But Kiroko knew he had a little more time out here and that he could always let Aki lead him on another one of her adventures.

Aki jumped in surprise as the new vixen spoke. When had she gotten here? Oh yeah, she was playing with the fireflies... Wait... Aki realized that this new vixen wasn't really new and that she had almost run into her in her crazed sprint to fetch Kir.
"Its you!" Aki smiled to the white and purple vixen. "Sorry about almost running you over earlier. I was in a hurry."

(( I figured Shorka's yell would come in around here and then the fireflies would be the next post or so... I'm not good with timing xd ))

Borealis stiffened and flinched back instinctively when she heard the voice of the other vixen right next to her. She relaxed as soon as she recognized her to be the same vixen from the path and gave her a welcoming nod as well. She turned back with a relieved smile to Kir, glad he would stay for at least a little longer. His mentioning of a tribe in the city caught her off guard, but explained the odd marking on his left shoulder.

She was about to ask him what his tribe was like when she heard a cry from deeper in the forest. She was immediately on her feet again, wondering what the sound could have been when she realized she was again looking directly at the place the strange vixen had disappeared. She turned her head back towards the group and asked "Do you think we should see what that was about?"

((With how slowly fireflies fly and maybe how far into the woods Shroka ran, I think that's a good estimation =3))

Tsuki rolled her eyes at the bows and apology. She wasn't intrested in the formal nice-nice thing. "Why would you want to live in a polluted city? You can't see the stars or the moon. Do you really know what makes you truly happy?"she asked. Tsuki's ears twiched as she picked up a far of cry. "That sounds like a cry of a broken heart and bad memories," she stated with a matter-of-fact tone before walking towards the cry.

Tsato was wondering through the forest. She knew there was a city nearby, but she had no interest in actually going to see it. Walking made her feel peaceful and, after the silly nightmare that had woken her up, she needed a little peace. I mean really, who gets scared of giant rabbits until they can't fall back to sleep? she asked herself, snorting in amusement.

Suddenly, she heard some muffled sobbing coming off to her right, though she could see nothing through the trees. Deciding to go see if she could help, Tsato turned and headed towards the sound of the noise. She came upon a small clearing that held a pool of water fed by a waterfall. Slowly entering the clearing, her eyes were drawn to a cloud of fireflys surrounding a gorgeous vixen who was lying half in the water and crying as if her heart would break. Or had already broken.

Tsato walked up to the vixen carefully, but didn't get too close, not wanting the purple fox to get scared off or angry. "Hey, are you okay?" she asked softly, concern crossing her features.

Aki gave the white and purple vixen a weird look as she rolled her eyes at them. Attitude much? Her attention then landed on the multi-colored vixen next to Kir. It seemed that Kiroko had actually befriended a fox outside of the city. But her attention didn't stay on her long.

Aki was taken back a bit at the harsh reference to the city her friend lived in. She looked at Kiroko and could tell that if someone didn't change the topic soon, there was the possiblity they would have a very angry Kir on their hands, which was never a good thing.

Though the cry sounded painful, Aki was thankful for it. Whoever it had come from had disturbed their conversation. "It does indeed." Once it dawned on her that it must have come from the firefly vixen, Aki simply nodded at the pond vixen as she got to her feet and began padding her way towards the call.

The moment the newest vixen spoke, Kiroko's smile quickly vanished. He easily thought of many reasons for living in the city but figured it wasn't worth telling to such a vixen. She seemed very close minded and he doubted one such as her could ever appreciate the art he and his tribe created.

The male took a deep breath to calm himself as the tried to think up an explanation to give. His ears twitched at the sound of a desparate scream and his eyes followed each vixen as she spoke. With a concerned look he nodded to Aki and Borealis as he too stood and followed Aki towards the cry.

Tsuki felt the tension coming off the male as they walked towards the cry from the forest. She must have made him mad when she asked him why wanted to be in the city. She would apologize to him later seeing as she didnt mean to make him mad. If she had she wouldn't feel the need to say sorry.
