This is all very new, just being thrown out of my comfy warm little shell, I am tossed into this big vast world. I guess it's time to make my mark. The Pistions that carried me through the brush were wobbly and unsure, I has just awoken them from an everlasting sleep. The cool breeze filled my nares as I pranced about in this little meadow I had stumbled upon earlier. My orbs has been so oblivious to what I had been treading on, that I finally stopped to sniff it. What is this? It smelt funny, but yet I had a guttural feeling to taste it. It was bland, My tongue scraped the back of my irons to in an attempt to get it out of my mouth.
I had heard a faint calling, off in the distance, the pillars atop my head shot forward towards the calling, and soon my feet followed. I had a tiny frame, tiny for my ego that is. With my head held high, I waltz to whatever destiny I was about to make.

Toshiro cocked his head curiously at Xiang, wondering why she didn't sound quite as happy as before. Having been pondering over the filly's change in mood, the foal was slightly spooked when he suddenly noticed the sound of yet another approaching them. "Ah, sheesh, you scared me," he said with a small laugh to new Kirin approaching them. It didn't look that old. "Hello there. I'm Toshiro. Who might you be?"

"Family?" he asked, blinking slowly at the female, ears flicking back as he pondered the word. "That might be nice. I've never had a family, not that I remember. I thought I was the only one in the world for a while." Not exactly an unpleasant thought, but as one couldn't sleep forever it was nice to know that there were other Kirin to play with when napping was through. "Sure! I'll join your family, Xiang. It's nice to meet you both." he added, bowing his head a moment.
He jerked it up, however, at the sound of the new arrival, eying him with something akin to suspicion. Was this some new interloper come to steal his new... 'family'? Or had he been alone too? Lachtna pondered that question as he shifted himself closer to Toshiro and Xiang, clearly aligning himself with them and claiming kinship. "Hello." he greeted hesitantly.
((I'm sorry... I just really realized how light the tan font was. ^.^;; It looked darker on my laptop than it does on the comp I'm using currently. Shall stick to this color from now on. <3))

(Drops into thread)  Eunia stood slowly, stumbling a bit as she rose to her feet. Her ears twitched slightly as she bent down and nibbled some of the shrubbery around her. As she chewed her first bites of food she looked around her, walking boldly through the forest. first time in the real world eh? Sounds great. She heard the ongoing conversation of the others. Eunia moved toward the speakers slowly, fearing that they may be her enemy. She ducked into the bushes quickly and begin to listen to the conversation. If they are dangerous let me remain hidden, if not let me be found

Xiang smiled at her two "brothers" and the pale colt. She had a family, maybe this colt would be a friend of theirs...life was looking up today! She'd heard a little about herds, and maybe Xiang, Toshiro, Lachtna, and the pale colt would have a herd of their own someday. They'd need more girls, soon, or else it might get lonely without other fillies to talk about girl things, but they could worry about that later.
(Dost my eyes detect that Toshiro and Lachtna might be...ah...protective of their new sister? xd )

I froze as soon as the other colt had startled at my presence, Part of me said flee, the other wanted to know what he was. I've never looked at myself since I was brought into the world, so He was new looking. I cocked my graceful head to the side and snorted, it made a loud enough noise to fill up the place. I unlocked my fore-pistons and took at few steps closer. Toshiro? Interesting, I've never had a name, so I guess I'll make one up.
"Chevy..."
I stared, not knowing what to do next. A slight breeze filled my nares and cooled my tiny frame, it was a good feeling. Snicker ripped forth my maw as I pranced around. It was exciting to know things, I wanted to learn more.
"What is everyone doing here? Who are you? What's your name?"
Sometimes I wish I could just shut up.

Lachtna eyed this new male a moment longer, then let out a snort - too active for his way of thinking. Really, it might be time for another nap... shaking that thought off, he gently butted his nose against Xiang's neck, showing his affection and gratitude for her easy acceptance of him. He was about to speak to her when another scent caught his nose - it was another Kirin, he was sure of it. This smell didn't have the same edge to it that Chevy's, or even Toshiro's did; it was somehow soothing, like his new sisters. "I'll be right back." he murmured, giving his tail a flick before striding off into the direction the smell was coming from, ears pricked forward.
As he reached Eunia's hiding place, he came to a stop, then bowed his head slightly, trying not to look intimidating and succeeding rather nicely. "Hello? Is someone else there?" he asked, wondering how many more would pop up suddenly - this was certainly turning into quite a gathering. "You can come out... there's nothing scary here."

(Yes, this is the same post from earlier, but it fits better here since Chevy didn't seem to notice it. I added a little more to the bottom though.)
Toshiro smiled and nodded when Lachtna accepted Xiang's invitation. It wasn't that long ago that the young male had been separated from his herd, and now he already seemed to be starting a new one of his own. It was an odd feeling, but at the same time a good one. It was nice to be in the company of others again. "Ah, and these are Xiang and Lachtna," he told the newcomer, realizing that he hadn't introduced them before. "We're making ourselves a family. You can join us if you would like." The young foal seemed innocent enough. And hey, the more the merrier, right?
He watched Lachtna curiously as he walked off toward another scent. So many are gathering here so quickly! Is this some kind of sign? He stepped a little bit closer to Xiang in Lachtna's absence, his tail swishing calmly behind him. At this rate it would be quite interesting to see how many they met before then end of the day.

 Darby stood downwind in the billowing grass. After hatching and finding himself alone, he’d wandered until the scent of other Kirin had drawn him here. He was happy to see others of his kind, but still a bit hesitant as to whether they’d be friends or foe. Wading through the tall grass, he listened to the voices that the wind brought past his ears. They sounded friendly enough. Munching grass, he pretended not to notice them.

Xiang smiled as she watched Lachtna go. Off to the side, she thought she saw a brown and white shape amongst the taller grasses and walked over. "Hey, you can join us if you'd like. What's your name?" she asked cheerfully.

Toshiro's ears flicked as he watched Xiang walk away. he was disappointed for a split second before he noticed the other foal that she was going toward. Ah, another newcomer. He looked all around and did a brief head count. Hmm, there seem to be six of us here in total now. Have so many foals and eggs really been separated from their families? This thought saddened him greatly. This just doesn't seem right in the least. Has something been happening to the adults? he pondered this to himself while still awaiting Chevy's reply on the invitation.

Eunia look up at the kirin, and responded "Hi, Its good to know that its safe here" She stood and stumbled into the clearing, looking around shyly she nodded to the others.

Darby raised his head as the pale yellow kirin approached. Her cheerful question put him at ease. "I'm Darby," he replied. "It's been awhile since I've seen anyone else. I welcome the company." Darby smiled slightly at the pretty female. "Why have you all gathered here?"
