The only item I ever actually actively saved up for was the Firestorm Dragon Gown back when I was just starting on Gaia. It didn't take me too long to get it, but still. I had to fight the urge to use up all my hard-earned gold on the first thing I could afford >.>
I've gotten better at that but still...
As for now, the only item I really really really want is the Pico Urn. I didn't have the Gaia Cash for it when it was still in the Cash shop and right now it's still too expensive for me in the Marketplace so I don't think I'll be getting that any time soon sweatdrop

you would be surprised at how fast you can get gold in this site. Take the Cuttlefish for example... They are free if you get them in the daily chance (I've gotten about 15 of them just from there) And when they kick the bucket they always seem to drop a piano for you. (Silly I know but they are worth 6,000 gold in the store.) Believe me it adds up quick. Let's try to raise another one ^_^

I'm not really saving for em but I want the newest evolving item and the Golden Bag to drop in price some more before I buy em.
I have 220k free right now and I'd like to get a bargain for my gold.

The only item that I ever seriously quested for was my KiKi Kitty. It was 50K (yeah, this was quite awhile back) when I started questing and I was kind of racing against inflation. I managed to get it at just under 100K.
These days I give too many gifts to really be able to quest like that. I have quite a big wishlist though. I got into the habit of adding things to my wishlist when I first started participating in gift giving threads.

I usually don't care enough about stuff to go questing for it. Some things by the time I can afford it, I lose interest. Either way, if I'm strapped for gold, I blow some real money on donation items if they're decent that month.

Try the slate chess pants, in the kneeling pose. Add flippers, and then some white items with yellow touches.
Or you could save up and get an aquatica and a few angelic items.
Depends on how bad you want a particular outfit and how much you're willing to work for it.
