He nods and he manages a small smile. "I know you're right. But I still feel horrible because I got them spinning so fast and it caused this to happen." He smiles a bit and he chuckles. "I guess putting them on the slides would be better, huh?" They had two sorts of slides there. The straight one, and the one that corkscrews down toward the ground.
Prince blinked as he tried to walk off the edge of the the merry-go-round. But he was too dizzy to make it so he just laughed and flopped down on the metallic floor. "Whee! Hey, Ian! The sky is spinning~!"

Serenity giggled softly and rose to her feet, holding her hand out to Gaunt to help him up as well. "I think that sounds like a marvelous idea," she agreed. "Though the steps," she added, looking towards the slides, "look like we might have to carry the boys up ... I don't know if they would be able to climb them ..."
Suddenly she remembered her painting, and she looked at it anxiously. Thankfully it had landed wet side up ... take that, Murphy!
Ian laughed at the Prince's comment. "I know!" he grinned. "It's it great?"
He looked over at Serenity and Gaunt, and burst into laughter again. "Even Mom and your dad are going in circles!" he told Prince, quite amused. "It looks like they're chasing each other around!"

Gaunt nods and he smiles. "That's easy. One of us can pick them up, and the other can catch them at the base of the side." He grins at her and he nods. "Easy as pie, as they say. And probably a whole lot safer than the merry-go-round."
The Prince giggled as well and he looked over toward Gaunt and Serenity. He laughs. "Hey, you're right! And it looks like there's two of them, too!"

Serenity couldn't help but overhear the comments that the two boys were making as she headed over to pick up her painting.
"Maybe we should give them a few minutes to undizzy themselves," she suggested with a smile. "They don't seem very coherent at the moment."
She tucked her painting into her bag, knowing that it would be safe in there - at the very least, safer than out and where it could be dropped again.
Ian tried to crawl towards Prince, but even that was too much for his overly dizzy mind. He went up on one knee and then fell completely over, still laughing, now too hard to talk.

Gaunt chuckles softly and nods as he moved with her, his hands casually in his pockets as he kept close to her side, but not so closer that he was bearing himself over her. "Mmn. Yeah, that sounds like a good idea." He laughs softly as he glances over his shoulder. "Besides, it sounds like they're still having too much fun from just being dizzy. Who am I to spoil that?"
The Prince was soon joining Ian in the too-hard laughter. To have watched him crawl toward the Merry-go-round only to fall over was a hilarious vision to the young and dizzy Surprise, and only cause him to erupt harder in laughter.

Serenity giggled, holding her bag in front of her with both hands, as if she were holding some books. "Laughter is one of the purest sounds in the world," she smiled warmly, watching the boys. "In any world, actually. I've been to enough of them to know that much, at least."
She turned to Gaunt, her eyes bright with laughter. "I still don't know what the best feeling in the world is though," she added, brushing her hair behind her ears. "I love it when my baby brother and sister fall asleep in my arms ... but I love playing with Ian ... the feeling of someone buying one of my paintings ... of being with people that I love ..."
Ian's laughter didn't seem to want to stop, though it was getting hard to remember what he was laughing about. Suddenly he snorted - which only set him off yet again.
"I jus- I ju- I jus- jus - sno- snorted!" he gasped, tears jerking from his eyes from his laughter. He rolled onto his stomach and curled up in a ball, slapping the ground and laughing even harder.

He smiles softly as he nods, still standing close enough to her. "Mmn. I have to agree, when it's a good laughter." Of course, there was bad laughter. Like the maniacal laughter sported by various bad guys in films, and the mocking laughter of bullies picking on their victims. He smiles softly as he looks over at the two Surprises. "I hope you find what the best feeling in the world is, Serenity. I'd like to feel it too, though I don't think I've even come close to finding it so far. Though all those things you described. They sound wonderful."
Prince was rolling around on the toy, he was laughing so hard. It was only a matter of time before he found the edge of it and fell off, landing on his side. He blinked a few times, then started to roar in laughter anew. "And I just.. just.. fell off.. a stupid toy!"

Serenity smiled at Gaunt, her eyes filled with warmth.
"I'm sure you'll find it someday," she told him softly, her voice filled with confidence. "School keeps you tied down, but once you're finished ... you'll have all sorts of opportunities to find the best feeling in the world."
She turned back to the boys. "I have a suspicion of what it might be," she admitted, "but ..."
She suddenly realized just how close Gaunt was standing to her, and she blushed softly, though she made no move to step away.
At Prince's comment, Ian just couldn't help but laugh even harder. "An-and I - I flew!" he exclaimed through gasps for air. "Like a bi-bird - and- and s-so far!"
He pushed himself to his knees and spread his arms like wings, and fell promptly back on his face, his laughter beginning anew.

He couldn't help but to gaze into those eyes of her. They were so warm, they invited him to look into them. He shakes his head slightly when her voice breaks into his thought pattern. He shrugs and he laughs softly. "One thing I am afraid of, is that when I get out of school I might be so busy with work that I won't have time, even then, to find the best feeling in the world. Whatever it is." He blinks and he tilts his head, when she suddenly stops. "Wh.. what is it? Is something wrong?"
Prince managed to make it to Ian, somehow. He draped himself over Ian's shoulders in something of an awkward looking hug as he laughed along with him. "Ahhahaha.. to.. too bad I didn't get to watch it.. I was too busy.. being spun!"

Serenity smiled listening to Gaunt, but when he asked her what was wrong, she shook her head and her blush deepened.
"Nothing ... I ... was just thinking something a bit silly, perhaps, that's all," she replied softly. "Something I had never thought about before ... which makes me wonder why I thought about it now."
Thinking about what the best feeling in the world had to be, suddenly it had occurred to her that it just might be spending time with the one - not ones, plural, but the single person - that she loved, more than anyone else. But she had never thought to have a person like that, so why would she suddenly think of it now? And it really didn't help that Gaunt was standing so close to her like that. Not that she minded, she was very comfortable with him ... but that was what confused her. It was their second meeting, and she was as comfortable with him as she was with the rest of her family. That had never happened before.
Ever.
"I hope you do manage to find the time to find what makes you happiest," she told him sincerely, daring to look up at him again. "Work is necessary, I know ... but if it means that you can't take time to enjoy what life has to offer ... then I don't know if it would be worth it."
Ian snorted again, collapsing onto Prince and slapping his back. "And then - and then the whole world went around and around!" he cackled. "And - and - and ..."
He wiped at his eyes and opened them to see the world spinning around still - only it had stopped, and he didn't know when that had happened. But he was laughing too hard to stop now, and he just pointed over Prince's shoulder instead.

He smiles softly as he watched her face bloom in that blush. She was so cute when she looked like that. And he was kind of thinking along the same lines as she was. This wasn't something he was used to. And he never through it would come on this quickly. This was their second meeting. Yet he was looking forward to the next time they met. And the time after, and the time after. He wanted to spend his free time with her. Maybe... He shakes his head to clear his thoughts. "Mmn. I.. maybe, have a theory.. but.. I guess time will only tell whether or not it will lead me to the feeling. And I agree. I don't want to work my life away. But I also think it would be foolish of me to think that I could have the job that I want, how I want it. At least not until I've established myself enough to have the power to negotiate for it."
The laughter from Prince was dying down. He was still laughing, but it was more of a reaction to Ian's laughing than finding something to be uncontrollably funny like before. He looks over his shoulder when Ian points, wondering what it was that he saw.

Serenity smiled warmly. "And I hope with all of my heart that you go for your dreams," she told him sincerely. "I realize that it takes time, but ... I've known too many people who gave up even before starting, just because they knew it would require time and effort ... and they're just so ... so sad ..."
She shook her head slowly - but then suddenly she perked up and smiled brightly up at Gaunt. "Oh, I have good news!" she exclaimed. "I spoke to Papa about getting a computer ... and he's agreed to get one for me, and the internet, so I can get to my email a lot more often once I get it! It might still be a few more days, but ..."
Or longer. She didn't know how long the process took. Not to mention, she still hadn't picked out a laptop ...
Ian was finally forced to stop laughing so that he could gasp for air. His entire face was red from laughing so hard, and his lips were blue from a lack of oxygen. In a matter of seconds, however, his face returned to normal, and he was able to breathe again.
"It's - all - normal again," he panted, pointing at the equipment once more. "No - more - spinning -"

He smiles softly and he shakes his head. "I've worked too hard, lived too long to just give up. I don't think I have it in me to just give up. This is the only life I have, that I know of. I have to try to make the most of it." He blinks when she suddenly perked and he smiles broadly when he gets the news. "That's great! You can even download an instant-messaging program and we can chat over the internet! That's great news!" He hugged her instinctively. It didn't dawn on him that it might not be that great of an idea.
The Prince smiles softly and he nods as he also panted for breath. "Y.. yeah.. it slowed down enough.. to stop." He smiles softly down at Ian, before he slowly gets to his feet to make sure he was okay. Then he turned toward the two and called out. "Serenittttyyyyy! Gaaaauuuunnnnt! We're ready for more fun now!"

Serenity blushed hotly and bit her lip to keep from laughing - though just what she felt like laughing at, she wasn't sure.
"Thanks," she said quietly, putting her hands gently on Gaunt's back and returning the hug. "I'm going to have to get my aunt to show me how that all works, though ... I know a bit about computers, but not a whole lot."
Suddenly the Prince's voice broke into the conversation, and Serenity remembered that she and Gaunt weren't exactly alone. Her face burned even hotter, and she dropped her hands and rubbed at the back of her neck sheepishly.
Ian giggled and pointed at Serenity and Gaunt. "THEY WERE HUGGING!" he crowed loudly. "I SAW THEM!"

He nods slowly and he smiles softly "I know a few things about computers too. I have a big desktop, and whenever school is out I carry it with me to my parent's home, so I'm hooking and unhooking it a lot." He chuckles lightly. "So if you need help, just tell me, okay?" He blinks when he hears the Prince and Ian bust in on their moment, and he laughs sheepishly. "Alright, alright. Come on, you two. We're going to be riding the slides next." He starts to walk toward the two, leaning down to pick them up.
Prince laughed and he nodded as he jump up and down, pointing at the two and at Gaunt as he got close to them. "I saw it too! I saw it too! I bet they were gonna kiss too!"
