*Returning from an outing to the Toulon Naval Base's Munitions Yard, he pushes open the door to his Quarters and tosses his hat on his hammock. Removing his coat and boots, he kicks them aside and begins to rummage through his belongings for an attire suitable for a dinner engagement.*
"Naval Dress Attire? No..."
*Holing the outfit up to his chest, he gazes in the mirror. Sneering, he tosses it back into a heap upon the seachest and looks for something else.*
"Grande Carnivale Ball Attire? No... Too Grande."
*Tossing that aside, his eyes light up.*
"Perfect. Not overly dressed, not to underly dressed. Civilian Attire."
*He then takes to dressing himself and adjusting the stock about his neck. Red was nice, but he wished that he had a black stock...
Finishing dressing, he looked at the clock that hung on the wall, next to the barometer. Five bells rang out. Four strong and one awkward strike.*
"Hmmmm... 5 O'clock. I have an hour before I must away to Miss Midnight's Manor. I must have all other Officer's that wish to attend dressed as well. But first... boots."
*Taking a seat on a chair, he tucks the ends of his pants into the boot and pulls them on. Then the other and he's ready. Grabbing his hat, he bounds out the door.*

<< continued from Jaden's Bunk>>
*She arrived at the Captain's door quickly after retrieving her bag from her bunk. Slightly flushed from skirting in and out to arrive at the Captain's quarters as soon as she could, she shifted the bag to her left arm and knocked upon the door. She awaited the Captain's answer from within.*

*A deep and powerful voice the other side of the door was singing*
You Ladies of Lubricity That dwell in the Bordello Ha-ha ha-ha, ha-ha ha he For I am that kind of Fellow...
*Hearing the knock upon the door, the singing ceased at once. With a low rumble and the sound of crashing, the door swung open to reveal the room scatterd with charts, books, ship's logs, clothes, dishware that Destiny hadn't seen in a millenia....
Pushing a few stray whisps of hair from his face, the Captain straightend himself, and with a rather flushed and red face, greeted young Miss Kale.*
"Ah, Jaden. Please come on... do come in. You'll have to excuse the mess. A parents cleanliness speech disappears when a boy goes to see, you know. Anyhow... please take a seat or look around whilst I locate that infernal hat. I've been searching for it for sometime now and I can't seem ta'.."
*Leading her in by the hand, he slightly bows as he turns and returns to his search. The low rumble that was heard earlier would prove to be Jack tramping about his state room. Like the sound of a heavy gun carriage, the sound was like a rolling thunder, but it was due more infact to Jack's mess than he himself.
Now huddled down over an open seachest that was one of a dozen, clothes flew threw the air and landed most everywhere.*
"I am with child to arrive at Miss Melaria's function. It'll prove to be a grand to-do, you'll see. Knowing her, she'll go all out. The whole 9 fathoms and more... in fact she'll ever bring out the.. Hat! Finally, here it is."
*Getting up from his knees, he turned and came across the room to hand Miss Jaden the wide brimmed, black rimmed tanned tarpaulin hat. The long black ribbon flew in the breeze: the letters glittering gold as they came.*
"Here you are, Miss Jaden. Don't rush yourself though. Feel free to look about the room if you'd like. We'll get there when we get there."

* She listened as she stood at the door. The Captain had seemed to have been singing to himself before abruptly stopping to answer the door. The cacophony of crashes, bangs and thumps echoed from within as a hand could be heard landing upon the door and flung the door open. The flushed and rushed look upon his face caused her to open her eyes rather wide and a queer smile crossed her face. She had never seen the Captain caught off guard, despite knowing she would soon come calling.
He apologized for the mess of dishes, books, charts and what seemed to be freshly strewn clothing about the room. Again she smiled queerly. She didn't know what to say as he took her hand and led her into the room. Seeing the room as cluttered as it was, she tried to be as positive about the room as possible.*
"No need to apologize, Captain, I am sure you don't let things get this way.... often" she left the phrase open so as not to assume anything about him. She winced once or twice as a jacket here, or a pair of breeches there flew like wounded fowl across the room.
*She watched him as he spoke, fairly sure that with his head buried into the depths of the seachest, that he hadn't heard her little comment. Soon, after digging through the very last of the items in the chest, he found the hat and handed it off to her to wear. The long black ribbon with the hand painted letters glittered in the the few rays of sunlight as it flitted about in the few whisps of wind. *
"Thank you most kindly, Captain.... Yes... That should work just fine with what I have to wear... at least I would hope as much." she generously accepted the hat and looked about the room. She slowly walked about, watching where she stepped along the way.
*Each step seemed calculated and deliberate as she walked amonst the strewn items. The room was cluttered but definitely lived in as any captain who stayed busy aboard a ship would have it. As she toed about the room, turning and looking around, she looked at articles on the floor as she narrowly bypassed them. Spanish and French pieces of clothing laid upon the planks of the room. Playing cards littered the floor near the desk, an obvious game of solitare gone frightfully awry. She glided across the room ever so lightly, despite the bag still slung over her left shoulder, and she crouched down to pick up a rather large leatherbound book in the corner.
He did tell her not to rush, so she instinctively began to learn things about her Captain as she stepped about the cabin: His lifestyle, habits, ect... All in an effort to be as comfortable aboard the ship with him as her leader. It was this ability to learn about people quickly and be able to predict the actions of those around her that allowed Jaden to slip into homes and take whatever items she needed or required. It was also one of the few reasons she seemed confused most by the Doctor, for his actions and mannerisms seemed to, at times, contradict themselves.
The leatherbound book she had easily lifted from the floor now rested squarely in her left hand as she took note of the Captain picking up a few of the random items he had just recently tossed carelessly about the cabin. She carefully opened the book and its contents before saying anything.*
"Thank you again, Captain... I am finding this room most... interesting." she said with a slight grin whilest her eyes darted delightfully across the that which was within the book in her hand. She paused and closed her eyes as if listening to something in her head before remarking upon the book in her hands. "Might I ask, Captain... Do you actually have a cello or violin aboard the ship? And do you play?" She said to him as she looked at the music once again. If the Captain responded, she never seemed to really hear him. Jaden tapped her fingers lightly on the leather book binding as she followed the notes and measures scrawled across the pages.
*Again she seemed to be lost in the music temporarily before realizing that she had become engrossed in the music a tad too much. She had began humming along to the music she could hear forming in her head and disregarded anything else. Realizing that she had been humming just loud enough for the Captain to distinguish a section from Boccherini's Minuetto Dei Ciechi, she stopped rather abruptly and began to blush furiously in the face. She quickly placed the book back in the very location she had found it before looking at the Captain with a somewhat confused look about her as well as searching for where she could change. A few stray curls fell across her face in the swift moments she took in trying to recover from her not so graceful embarassment.*

*Placing the large clump of clothes he had gathered into the seachest, he closed the lid and clasped the locks. Kicking aside the remnants of days gone by, he made a general space to roam about in. Looking to Jaden as she hummed to herself...*
"My my... how sweet your voice is, Miss Kale. That of a Dove."
*Tossing what sat on a chair to the floor, he took a seat in the corner and sat back, his long legs outstretched before him. Sighing, he reached behind the chair and plucked out a case. Opening it, there was a bundle of royal blue velvet inside. It seemed to be a velvet linging with a matching cloth. Unfolding the cloth, he produced an ancient fiddle that was very well kept. Compared to ther est of the room, the violin glowed.*
"Ah, yes... what is left of my life in teh service of His Magesty. Would you like to hear a tune as you dress, my dear? No matter, I'm up for a good scratching anyhow, and I seem to have time enough."
*Picking the horse-haired bow out of the case, he placed the butt of the fiddle under his chin and plucked at the strings at the neck. With a delightful high toned tink-tink-tink, he was off.*

*She blushed again after hearing the Captain's compliment. She had never thought that highly of her own singing even if others thought differently.
She saw the captain lift the violin from the blue velvet swaddling cloths and a gleam flickered in her deep green eyes as well as a smile crossed her lips. She turned around to find a spot to change as she through the bag from her left shoulder to her right.*
"Why, yes, Captain... I should very much like to hear you play..." she smiled as she looked about the room once more for a spot to change.

*Bringing the bow to a hault, he looked at Miss Kale and thrust his head repeatedly towards his cabin door. Raising his bow once again, he continued in Bottechelli's Ninth as Miss Kale went to change*

*Feeling a tad stupid at not realizing where the room was, she blushed and walked through the door to go change. Noticing a somewhat secluded spot in an otherwise small room, Jaden set her seabag against the wall and began to rifle through it. She pulled out the black and red skirts she acquired at the shop as well as the corset which had been found dangling from a precarious position. Quickly undoing the laces to her leather bodice, she listened to the Captain play his ditty. She carefully laid her belt and sashes down where she could still keep an eye on the pouch containing her tools, gloves and such, except her black silk ribbon that she had tied about the Doctor's letter. She hummed along with the fast-paced song as she removed her wet leather clothing and laid them by the side to dry. First the bodice, then the boots and pants. She slipped into the skirts and a black chemise as she tossed aside her red silk shirt with the other damp pieces. As she began to lace up her corset up the back, the strings of his fiddle danced happily in the Captain's fingers. *
"You play wonderfully, my dear Captain." She said happily as she called back to him. She exhaled as she sinched the strings once more to finish the tieing of the corset.
*Still a tad disheveled but very much covered, save for her cleavage, she toed about as she spun back to the seabag and pulled out and put on the black velvet slipper shoes she had also found at Mimfry's. Next, she went back to her belt and removed a small key that unlocked her locket chest. Looking around inside at the many baubles she had tucked away in there, she took out a gold chain with a heart-shaped ruby pendant dangling from it. She relocked the small chest and put on the necklace. Seeing she didn't have the black satin ribbon to pull up her auburn hair, Jaden decided, instead to let it lay long and the curls to rest lightly upon her shoulders. She smoothed out the small wrinkles in her skirts and chemise and looked about the room.
The last two items were the Tarpaulin hat and her cloak and she'd be ready to head ashore with the Captain and meet up with the Doctor. She removed the black velvet hooded cloak with red lining from the bottom of her bag and laid it beside her damp clothes. Taking great care, she folded up the damp articles and laid them at the top of the bag so that she could put her items in her bunk to continue drying. Jaden, sensing that she needed to finish up quickly, nestled the hat on her head, the ribbon slowly trailing down the right side. She put on her cloak and made sure her hair laid over the back of the hood and once more put on her black gloves. She grabbed her belt and removed the pouch and let it dangle from her wrist before tucking the belt into the bag.
She took up her seabag and walked out to where the Captain had just finished playing his spirited piece. She stood, smiling at the Captain and applauded.*
"That was truely a wonderful piece, Captain. I thank you for playing it for me." She smiled happily as she stood at the doorway.

*Placing the fiddle in the nearby chair, Jack grabbed his hat from the table and tapped it upon his head snuggly. It was tie to go. As he turned to grab his coat, he set his sights upon a beautiful woman.*
"Oh my! I'm sorry to have been staring at you Miss... wait. Miss Kale? How wonders never cease! You look absolutley stunning! By George!"
*Extending his arm to her, he gestured for her to take it within her own and he would escort her out the door.*
"Step in haste! We've a grand ball to attend to!"

*Upon hearing the Captain's compliment, her cheeks flushed furiously and she dropped her seabag down past her side. Having been quite a long time since she had been seen in a dress, she was very nervous of how she looked. Bowing her head slightly and looking off to the side, she quietly uttered a thanks for his apprieciativeness.*
"ah... thank you ever so kindly, my dearest Captain... I think you exaggerate a little... but I thank you, nonetheless." She took his arm and stepped out the door quickly.
*Her heartbeat quickened a little. She was finally off to a spectacular party for the first time in her life without the ever-looming presence of her mother trying to marry her off. The level of excitement she was feeling seemed to overwhelm her, causing her to feel like a child experiencing their first Christmas.
In her haste and flurry of emotions, she left her seabag behind in the Captain's cabin*

*Scurrying down through the scuttlehatch, Kurisutofa fell over the clutter about his cabin floor. Ripping through the remnents of his last scoure for his fiddle, he remembered taht he'd left it in his chair. Grabbing it, he scooped up the bow, violin & his shet music for refrence.
Leaping from one clean spot to another...*
"I must find myself a new steward. A sea captain has no time for one'self. Nelson had a point in having four of 'em scurvvy buggers. A man would go mad worrying about himself and the rest of the crew. Everything becomes so simplified when you take yourself off the list."
*Climbing up the steep ladder, he pushed aside the wooden swinging hatch and stepped out upon deck.*

She felt the cool, smooth wood on her cheek as she listened to the sounds of the ship rocking in the bay. Her hands ran down the sides of the door in familiar nervousness. The Captain had always made her nervous as well as the glimpse into his private life he had allowed her. She wanted to open the door and see if the room had changed at all. If it still smelled of salt, beeswax and a smell no other man mimiced. Breathing deeply in the smell of salty wood her hands came to rest on the door nob.

*still giggling to herself about the Doctor's "accident" with the drunken sailor's mug o' swill, she traversed the steps to the Captain's cabin. She smiled a little to herself about the look that Reginald gave as the crewmate apologized for his clumsiness. Perhaps she would be able to find a moment to talk with him this enchanted evening that seemed to have bewitched the whole crew.
The sounds of the celebration echoed dully in the belly of the 'Lady' as she came around the narrow corridoor to the Captain's cabin door. Her jovial attitude turned solemn as she noticed Lady Melaria already standing before his door, her hand resting upon the knob and her cheek pressed against the deep wood grain. Her eyes were closed as if remembering a memory of long ago.
Jaden stood within the edge of the shadows and watched Lady Melaria. She didn't quite know what to say to her and she didn't want to suprise her as she was just going to walk in to change and move her seabag.*
