"Of course our meeting was precious." Though other stallions might say something to that effect with suave charm, words meant to woo a mare, Karma said them only with honesty. His whole life, though he had often been distant and reserved, he had been sincere. His eyes were full of this sincerity as he looked back into Alyna's.
And then he drew himself back. It wasn't a physical move so much as an internal one. He was flinging himself too headlong into this situation, he felt. Everything about it felt like Fate, but he didn't want to let himself get carried away by that thought. He had to stay grounded. He had to remember that he was talking to a person, not a force of destiny.
He refocused. He knew what the sensible thing to do next was. "Shall we take a walk?" He looked around at the scenery that surrounded them. It was certainly pretty enough to merit a closer look. "I believe that we have many things to catch up on, after all."

Alyna was almost speechless. She had thought it foolish when she had cherished their meeting for such a long time. Yet, perhaps she was not so silly for doing so, if he had done the same. She smiled at him, knowing that his words were honest by the look in his eyes.
The very picture of innocence and naivety, Alyna allowed herself to be carried away by her emotions. Although her life had brought her hardships, she retained her child-like outlook on life. It was a good thing that Karma was more sensible than she, for the task of refraining from rushing the situation fell to him. Alyna herself was unaware even of the need to hold back, or of what was happening.
Her eyes full of wonder, she smiled at the prospect of a walk. "A walk sounds lovely. You're right, we do have a lot to catch up on."
They walked side by side through the forests they knew well, catching up on what had happened in their lives.
