"Its not an animal," Jasiri'ka smiled, chuckling lightly, his eyes rolling up to try looking at the cub. "A current is something that naturally occur in the sea... How do I illustrate this... Have you ever tried going into a river?" The male suddenly hesitated a little, painful memories of how he was washed away from his father by a river flooding his mind; then, he shook his head, as if to shake the thoughts away.

Saharan shook her head eagerly. "No! What's a river?" They had the sea here, but no rivers. Unless they did but she didn't know the word for it. She frowned at the male's sad face and patted his cheek with her paw. "What's wrong, Mr. Treasure? How come you got sad? Can I help somehow?"

{We should end this soon-ish. xD <3}
Feeling the cub's paw on his cheek calmed him, and the male smiled as he shook his head, "Its nothing, really! I was just thinking of something bad that happened to me when I was young due to a river." He blinked, looking surprised for a moment; she hadn't seen a river before? That is rather surprising... Especially since rivers normally connect to the ocean. Maybe there isn't one near these lands?
He frowned a little, deep in thought. Then, his eyes widened as an idea struck him. He dug his right front paw into the dirt and drew a wavy line, before gesturing for Saharan to stare at his 'drawing', "Well, a river will probably look like this if you see it from the top. It is sometimes curvy like this, but I'm sure there are those that are straight! It is filled with water like the ocean is... In fact, I believe most rivers lead to the ocean."
He paused briefly, looking at the cub to make sure that she was following his explanation, "However, river water is not salty and some are shallow enough to stand in as a cub. Those are perfect for swimming lessons if the river does not flow fast." His smile wavered for a second, "There are also those that are really deep and have currents so strong, they can pull a lion along with them, and its no use struggling when that happens."

Saha was glad when the big male seemed to perk up. Seeing sad folks made her sad too! She looked down when he began to trace in the dirt, curiosity plain in her eyes. "A river looks like that from the top." It sort of reminded her of the little trails the tide would make when it came in. If it held water though then that would make sense, she supposed. "They lead to the ocean? Really?" That was interesting! But she could understand. She sure liked the ocean, so things like rivers would too, sensibly. "Huh...But what makes it like that? I mean, what makes a river go?"
She perked up suddenly and looked up at where the sun was in the sky. "Oh no! Momma's gonna know for sure I was gone by now!! I'm sorry Mr. Treasure, I have to go...Tell me more about rivers when you join the pride, okay?" With a last little snuggle she bounded away, stumbling almost in her haste to get back home.
((Fin! Taa daaa! <3))
