Black Shirt  Brown Skirt  (The grey things kinda obstruction view- was my real camera, (I took these on my cell) I needed something to rest it against. Black and Brown Skirt (Hey, Why not. I saw layered skirts)   Which is better?

I really like the brown skirt.
The black skirt doesn't have enough flounce to it to be steampunk. The brown is great though.
The whole outfit looks almost gypsy punk or pirate punk. Very cute.

Very cute. Thanks, I'' try and get some better lighted pictures if I get the chance. I guess I'm heading more towards Pirate punk if anything. My hair has been crappy- But when I style my hair- I'll take a full body to show the whole outfit :3

I'd say the brown skirt.
I wouldn't layer the two skirts. As a general rule, it's better not to put tighter skirts over poufy skirts. It looks constricting.

I don't know about the availability in Florida, but I know that Wal*Mart often carries winter boots for fairly cheap (especially if they are a knock-off style). You could also check in the thrift store men's section for boots, instead if looking in womens. Admitted, you may only find things like cowboy boots or something, but it can't hurt to look. Boots sized 7-9 mens is approximately size 9-10 womens.

I may as well act gay for this but the brown skirt seems more loss and flowing so I would go with that. If you layered them it may restrict movement.

I'm going to talk to my friends to see if they have any boots. It's a long shot but hey. I'll look for shoes when I get more money.
As for the skirt- My mother hates the brown skirt- But I like the flow more, and taking your comments in against my mother's I'll stick with the brown skirt.
I will be checking thrift stores for shoes, gold stuff etc. Leather too. etc.

boots boots boots...
Delias and Alloy both have some relatively cheap victorian style ankle boots if you have maybe $40 to throw at them. They're adorable and go up to a size 10.

Fix on steampunk is annoying the hell out of her. I wish I had that money- Due to economy I have no job, and I need $96 for weekend con tickets. Thrift stores will end up being my best friend.

I know what you mean. I stumbled onto a good job. I've been taking voice lessons for 7 years, and my teacher wanted an assistant, so she gave me a job. I also work as a physics tutor because I'm an engineering student and one of my friends is having a terrible time with physics. I make like $100 a week, which in the long run, is not something you can possibly live on, BUT, hey, spending money ftw!

When people go out of town I house sit. I was supposed to stay over someone's house on Friday and Saturday- But an JROTC camping trip was rescheduled for Friday- so I can only stay over Saturday and maybe get like $20 or $30 dollars.
I'd get me a simple pair of goggles. When I get the money I will probably ask you all what pair looks more steampunkish. <<

I have a pair of plain black rubber ones that look like old sauldering goggles. They're pretty. There is an incredibl pair of handcrafted ones I want off the web. T__T if I had the proper tools and metal I would have made my own a long time ago, but alas, the lack of sheet metal and dremel and sauldering iron is something of a problem... all I have is a needel and thread and a hot clue gun. -cries-
