The half-Chinese youth was about to explain when he heard the sound of fast rolling wheels. He pulled Micajah close to his body, pressing them both against a wall. The janitor cleaning bucket zoomed past them, leaving a trail of dirty water behind it.
"Actually I'm more worried about the projectiles. The girls are dirty players, the guys...not so much. Though they can get lured into the schemes sometimes." The brunette waited a few more minutes before letting go of the blonde, hand still tangled with the other's. "You okay?"

"I'm fine, but why would people do something like that? Is it some kind of trail or initiation? Is this like hazing for club, or are they seriously going to play childish games with us because girls are petty and have nothing better to do?"
It wasn't overt hate on girls, not at all, but Micajah didn't have a very high opinion on them based on a certain female he knew that pissed him off to no ends. They all seemed to prideful, too petty, for his tastes. He tried not to show that emotion on his face but it was pretty obvious since his usually calm brow was pursed downward into a look of annoyance and confusion.
Micaja had never delt with people playing pranks before, so this was a bit much.
"At least I think I can count on you to probably protect me. It seems like you are far too used to things like this, while I've never seen it happen before."

Wei allowed the boy to fume as they finished the journey to the store. Happily, the workers here were the gentle type. Caring and maybe a bit too girly. But he'd rather deal with all the frills and pink than the jungle awaiting outside. He waved to the girl at the counter before leading him to the aisle dedicated for pencils and pens.
"I honestly don't know. I think they're angry with me. I've started to spend less time here and they aren't coping well with the loss of 'adequate man candy'." He both shuddered and chuckled at the term they used for him. Shuddered because he was the only one in it, chuckled because he didn't think girls were so complicated until then. "Not to mention that the time I do come here I tend to favor my male..." Lovers? Bed mates? Sex buddies? "...friends."
Wei let go of Micajah's hand, squatting down to inspect the pens. Not exactly the cheapest but his pickiness called for it. Too fat tips were bad. Too fat bodies. Too thin bodies (not to mention they were glittery. Ew.) He smiled up at the blonde. "The pencils are farther down the aisle and most other school supplies are on the other side if you want to go ahead and look for the things you need. And they have some hair things in the front. I'm probably going to take a few minutes."

"I see, I see. I'm sorry if I seem out of it, I just don't really understand things like this. I didn't have friends growing up, so I spent most of my time alone with books. And it's good you come to see your friends, whatever the reason."
When Micajah said "no friends", he meant it. Literally. But that was okay, it just made him social awkward when other people did things - not make him a complete asshat. He stayed in his thoughts until the pair reached the supply area and his hand was released along with a message from Wei about taking his time, and the youth walked off towards where he hoped he might find something fun.
He'd had a project on his mind for a while now too, something that was nagging him enough to make him think about shopping, and he could only hope they had beads or something here too so he could finish what he'd started. While at his Father's home he'd managed to get the project two-thirds complete, but he needed it to be a full whole before he happened to meet up with him again . . .
And then his attention was took by a set of hair chopsticks sticking out of a display. They were purple in color and had pretty little butterflies dotting them here and there, not to mention little tassles at the top that were a complimenting shade of purple with butterfly charms. Very girlie, but it caught Micajah's attention very quickly.
". . . Oh."

The brunette frowned a bit. He understood what Mica was talking about. It was only a year ago that he was like that, except he was far less friendly, but he had recently gotten a fast lesson in socializing. To say it was worth is was a debatable topic.
Alas Wei's search for the perfect pen came to an end without finding himself a new one. Though he did find the ink cartridges for his current ones so it wasn't a total failure. He took a four-pack and made his way to the front. Silently, he came up behind his companion looking at what he was looking at. He smiled.
He motioned to the worker, selecting the chopsticks, a matching hairclip, and what looked like a small tube sock.. Easily he pulled the hairtye out of the other's hair, combing it out of the braid with his fingers. "You wanted a Chinese hairstyle right? I'll give you one right now." He gathered the other's hair at the top of his head and put it into a ponytail. Taking the tube sock the put the ponytail through it before evenly arranging the blonde locks around it so that no fabric was showing, and with his own hairtye he locked it into place, letting the remaining tendrils fall naturally.. Taking the chopsticks he arranged them gently underneath all the hairtyes so that they wouldn't fall out. Finally, he smoothed the other's bangs to one side of his face and used the butterfly clip to keep them in place.
The clerk giggled, taking out a mirror so that the blonde boy could see what Wei had done to him. "A little girly but it looks good on you." He swiftly paid the girl for his pens and his new accessories before Micajah could protest. It's the least he could do for putting Mica through his crazy jungle.

Micajah didn't even flinch or wince once as Weiyuan quickly did his hair, though he did make a little squeak of protest as the older teen purchased the items that now graced his head. He frowned slightly for a moment before he turned to look in the mirror, his eyebrows raising at the sight of how he looked.
While he had never been one for accessories it would be a lie to say they didn't go well with him. Weiyuan had been right in saying that it did make his face more girlish, slimming it down and making his eyes seem a little wider and rounder, but all in all it was quite suiting.
"Ah...thank you very much! It's..."
Micajah turned towards Weiuyan now and smiled honestly and brightly, the look of a child who had just recieved a present they'd been wanting for so long. While it pained him that he couldn't have just gotten it himself, someone else had seen his obvious want enough to do it for him, he was a little too thrilled to care that much.
"Is there anything I can do in return? You've been nothing but nice to me today and I'd feel really bad if I couldn't pay you back somehow."

The brunette looked back at the smiling blonde, unable to resist a smile of his own. He was so adorable he couldn't resist. Wei pressed a bit closer to Micajah, placing a small kiss to the other's temple. "That's good enough. Now, I did want to get those shirts. Unless you wanted to escape the jungle now before they really let their fangs out." 'They' being the girls. Especially when they see Micajah with new things in his hair. Without a doubt they would think he had bought them and that they were going out. Lies and slander but they would either back down or try harder. He didn't like the second option much.

Micajah's body stiffened slightly at the kiss and his expression become one of slight puzzlement mixed with confusion and a little bit of fear, though that quickly passed and was replaced with the same smile as always - warm, friendly.
"I'd be only fair of me to stay by your side if we've come this far. I can't leave you along to those hyenas out there, they'll take you alive and I'll never get to talk with you again."
Maybe it wasn't nice at all to compare women to stupid African beasts, but it seemed like a pretty fair tie in at the moment. They way they plotted and giggled was very, very similar to the beasts of the same name, and even now he could probably seem the circling from the corner of his eye.
"Besides, misunderstandings are easier to clear up with a partner, right? No one believes a man alone, but at least two people can make it seem real."

Wei outright laughed at the thought of them being hyenas. Unfortunately some of them not only cackled like them, they looked like one too. "Well if you're sure little butterfly." He let out one last chuckled, playfully giving the butterflies in his hair a flick. Taking the bag in one hand and Micajah's hand in the other he lead them out the doors.
Again the elder went on high alert, listening and watching for anymore 'hyenas'. The clothing store was a farther walk than the bench to here and it left many more opportunities for them to attack.
Which they did. There was the 'accidental' soda spill. The toy gun 'demonstration'. The 'faulty' remote control vehicles. And quite a few 'accidental' bumps. All of which he had to practically maneuver Micajah out of the way of. In the end Wei was becoming more and more frustrated with them. They were never so extreme when he was with one of the 'mall people'. He didn't solely belong to them and quite simply the more they did this the less likely he was going to come back.
Up ahead was the store and he could hear the screeching of some girls. Upon closer inspection he could a see a male blocking off two girls' pathway to him. The two hyenas spotted the two and tried to scratch their way past the much taller male but some how he was able to keep them at bay. He quickly led Micajah into the store before the two girls could get at him.
It was one of Marcus' co-workers. How did-? He didn't have time to finish his thought as he was removed from the blonde's side into the pair of warm arms and a chaste kiss upon his lips. "Marcus..."

Micajah thought it all rather annoying at first, then found it something like a game, considering it was like a little obstacle course to get from Point A to Point B without being injured. He had been sort of shocked to silence when he was called Butterfly by Weiyuan (he thought of Cane calling him that too, was it just easy), but soon he was giggling slightly at each little trap they came across. It was getting more and more outlandish, and he was loving it.
These people were like children, stupid little, jealous little children. It was amazing and amusing.
When they reached their destination at last Micajah was a little sore inwardly that nothing more had happened, though he was shocked into an 'oh' at the appearance of the man whom he'd happened upon with Weiyuan before outside the mall. When the pair drew themselves together again he backed up a bit and smiled politely, that awkward feeling from their first meeting pounding in again.
"If you two are together again now, I should be heading out. I don't want to ruin things like I did before because of my carelessness, and I think me leaving alone will calm the pack outside."

Wei let the kiss linger for a little bit before pushing Marcus away. He started to move toward the blonde only to find that the taller brunette was holding onto his hand. He sighed, pulling Marcus along. "Honestly, I think they'd maul you even more." With his free hand he pointed toward the door and the tall man in the doorway. "Especially since our lone bodyguard is now back to his real job." He flashed the stranger a smile before putting his attention back on Micajah.
"Not to mention that it's been a long time since I've enjoyed spending time with someone without knowing that later I'd probably be naked against them." He turned, flashing his 'parasite' a look. The guy frowned, letting go stubbornly. Wei rolled his eyes, placing a kiss on the other man's cheek before said man skulked away. The elder student sighed again, shaking his head slightly. He turned back to Micajah, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Yeah........."

Micajah had been feeling that odd pain in his chest whenever he watched Weiyuan and the other guy mack on each other, though it wasn't severe like whenever Cane would say something to him, but he was quickly able to dismiss it when he noticed that his companion seemed to be...put out.
"Hmm, well, to each their own. I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me feel a little uneasy to watch others flirt around me, but if you're happy then you're happy. All there is too it, and it's fun spending time with someone new too, for me anyways."
He was trying to sound like none of this bothered him (much) and that spending time with Weiyuan despite it all had been fun (truth), almost like he wished to hang out again some time. It was fun being with someone who was certainly older than him and had more experience...in more ways than one.
"Was there anything else you needed to do? Anything else you needed to get?"

Again, he was taken back. Happy? It's been awhile since he's had someone understand his actions like that. Or at least said so out loud. "Thank you."
He stuffed his hands into the jacket pockets, fingering the gathering lint in there. "Well, I still need those shirts." Again he took the other's hand, leading him toward the section he needed, completely ignoring Marcus' sulking. They weren't boyfriends, he honestly wished Marcus would stop acting as if they were.
He quickly picked out the shirts, all in neutral colors, and went to the bodyguard to pay. If Marcus was going to be whiny, he didn't want to deal with him. "Well, I'm done. Is there anything you need still? Or even just want to see?" Was he stalling? Yes. Quite a bit.

"I suppose I could try to get a new shirt or something too, at least ones that are better for the weather. Most of my clothing was destroyed in the fire so I'm only wearing what I managed to salvage or what I brought from home."
Micajah smiled sheepishly and moved towards one of the racks, idly looking over the choices there. Nothing was really his style, seeing as he preferred turtlenecks, sweaters, or at least collared shirts, but it never hurt to look at anything. There were plenty of nice colors to pick out from, mostly darker shades that he was fond of as well, and after a few seconds of picking over he did manage to find a turtleneck.
It was a dark shade of red, almost like a burgundy, and he pulled it out to look it over. The tag read 'medium', but the boy honestly couldn't remember what size he wore. Most things he made himself, or others got for him. Micajah had never bothered to look.
". . .The only problem is I may need to try something on. It seems like I'm not as shopping saavy as you."

The brunette followed Micajah without hesitation, unwilling to let go of his hand. It was pleasant to say the least. Wei wasn't really a shopper but he had a natural sense of fashion. Most of his clothing seemed nearly identical if it weren't for the different colors and patterns. Well, didn't matter much now, most of the time his clothes were covered by the uniform jacket.
He blinked. Again. Dressing rooms? Oh...he had memories of those. But...well let's say thoughts came that weren't memories. Another blink "I...guess...I'll...help...you...then...." He spoke slowly. It was a vivid vision in his mind and he was starting to have trouble to see beyond it.
