Olivia was standing outside the entrance to Platform Nine and Three Quarters. She was about to charge in, already gaining momentum- when someone raced in front of her and ran through the wall.
Olivia's cart fell down, and the person who'd cut her off stopped and turned.

"Are you okay?" the voice said, but Olivia stuck her nose up. She knew this person, it was a Gryffindor. She picked up the things that fell off her cart, and began to calm down her cat.

The boy, obviously mildly intelligent, turned and did the same, while murmuring to his rat about manners. Olivia merely turned and walked through the wall. Her parents followed, her younger brother- five years old at the time- even spitting at the ground in front of the Gryffindor.

Olivia boarded the train after unenthusiastic goodbyes, and went to find an open compartment on the train.

James had just ran into another cart, but was left picking up his things while the young woman he'd run into walked away. He looked up, recognizing the girl. Oh, it was a Slytherin. Olivia. Someone that his friend Henry had rated a seven on his woman scale.

James didn't much care for girls, so he gathered his things and went through the gate and onto the platform. He stopped and turned to his parents. His mother was crying again, and he went to hug her.

The goodbyes took a while, but they were worth it. James boarded the train already missing his parents and siblings. He found an empty compartment and put his bags up, then sat down to look out the window at other arriving students.

He was going to love this year of Hogwarts.

Tom piled her chest and bags onto a rollie cart along with her pet cat. The cat was in an owl's cage and looked more like a pile of rags than an animal... She had found him just hours before yowling outside her hotel's window in the fire escape. She usually just bought her pet last minute from a street vender, but this one was free and right there. Tom had very bad luck not losing animals, and ended up getting a new one every year.

Once every thing was of her cart, Tom walked at a casual pace words the magical Will that would lead her to the correct platform. She picked up speed as she neared it, still not trusting the magic completely, even after so many years.

"One. Two. threes!" She said and closed her eyes as she moved though the rough red bricks. When she opened her eyes she was in the real wielding world. She watched as families dropped their kids off reminding them of there own personal needs that would need attending to, and to send letters frequently.

A smile bombarded her face and she moved towards the train. She wanted to find some one she knew to spend her time with, but ever compartment seemed to be taken up by slytherans. She rolled hr eyes as a gang of first and second years glared at her and waved back. Eventually she found one that had only one person in it, and she knew him!

"James!" She yelled and dropped her bag on the compartment floor, hugging him from behind before he had a chance to protest. She had known the boy since they were first years and they got along pretty well.

James was just getting settled too, and the he heard his name. He turned his head, then was tackled by one of his good friends, Tom.
He chuckled, turning so he could hug the bright girl back. "Hey, Tom!" he smiled, sitting down and putting her in his lap. "How's it going?" he asked, grinning.
Tom was his favorite person at Hogwarts, not romantically or anything, just friends.
"What's the new pet?" he asked.

Tom fixed his hair roughly and patted his cheek. She had not seen him all summer and he had not even visited her in the joke shop once! That was a little depressing considering he had all the time in the world during the break, but hew spent it all with his Muggle girl friend.

"His name is Walter. He is a cat." She said matter-o-factly. "At least I think he is a he. He bights so I don't really know." She chuckled and stood to take the seat across from him near the window. She watched him with her unblinking eyes and leaned forward a little and smirked.

"So how’s....The girl what's name I can not remember? Bloody hell Man Did you spend all summer with her?" She was playing around, not serious. Even though she did like it when he stopped by to say hey.

James smiled, "Cute," he looked at the cat, then looked at her. He smiled sheepishly when she asked if he'd spent all summer with his girlfriend. "Well- Lisa is her name- yeah." he smiled, "It was great..."
He leaned back, getting a lost look on his face, then snapped out of it. "Er- sorry I didn't stop by!"

Tom grinned. "Oh Lisa! How your silken locks and fair skin entrance me so! For I am nothing more than a despite Young wizard trapped in-between worlds!" She put a hand to her forehead and threw herself back against the seat. "Damn James! Hope she is worth it." She leaned forward and slapped his knee.

"How’s the fam? I’m going to crash with you over the Christmas holiday kay?” She thought it was better to tell him now so he could write home and tell his folks.

James blushed, "She is," he reassured her, then leaned over to her. "Oh really? You are?" he smiled, "You want to meet Lisa?"

Tom shook her head. "That will be nice and all but I really want to meet your mom's cooking. Did she send you with cookies again?" She asked. It's not that she did not like Him having a girl friends and all, it was just annoying when it got in the way and it was all he could think about.

"Mom is taking a trip to Transylvania with her man toy. Hope I'm not to much of a bother for you." She said and crossed her legs as eh slouched back in her seat.

"No bother," he replied with a smile, "And yes, she did send me with cookies. But they're in a different bag," he sighed, then laid down.

Tom rolled her eyes and laughed. "Tired?" She asked and lay down on her own side, tilting her head to match the angle of his. Her bright Magenta hair was fading to more of a sweet bubblegum pink. She was still in regular clothing, and would need to change before they got to school. She was wearing a pair of boot cut faded jeans with a short pink and orange tropical dress over it.
