Kurumiril thought for a moment, wondering where he could start his tale. Once he found a nice gentle beginning he began, "A while ago, back when I had just become an elder, I had taken the initiative to treat and care abandoned and injured pups of Di'jai, somewhat like the keeper Beriothien... I had recieved much love as a pup and inside me was the eagerness to spread all my love to as many cildren I could just so they could be brought up like me. Sometimes I would take a dragonfly as a pup and leave them as they reached adulthood. I also would wander around with a group of pups, teaching them to hunt and look after eachother. Those days were ever brilliant. If not a sunny day, the sun in the children's hearts would bring me warmth anyways..." His tale up to now was rather bright and made him feel happy. He paused and grinned, thinking up what he was going to say next.

Blie nodded and let the elder start his tale. From what he heard the tale didn't seem like a bad one. But for some reason he felt like this happy tale was going to turn for the worst. When the elder paused Blie shifted and waited. "Pups can always bring a smile to our faces."

Kuru nodded, pups were the greatest joys. He continued his tale, "I don't know why I did what I did next, I guess I was curious or I felt a strange emptiness but I crossed the great desert. I left my whole life behind and all my friends behind to go to the land of men. At the time it didn't feel like a bad idea, and I knew I would be back, so i consulted with beriothien and then I was out venturing the arid desert for months I'd say. I almost died indeed, but that did not bring me down, I was much too joyful and hopeful to be brought down by anything. Then I was saved by men, nomadic folk, miners they called themselves, and geologists, studying the rocks and gems of the planet. That's when I discovered my elder powers, oh what bliss I was in." Telling this tale felt quite nice, he had never observed it from a distant perspective. He took another moment to take his breath and ponder on the next part.

Still so far the tale seemed fine. It was rare to hear of someone who had come across the humans, but still nothing bad happened. "You had not found out your power before that? Is that a normal thing to happen to elders?" Blie turned his head in question and smiled.

"I'm not sure if it's normal for elders to not know their powers. I guess it depends on the elder. Personaly, I could not have discovered my powers until I did meet the geologists. I have the power to pull out essences from all gems. Every gem improves a certain part of me. My endurance, my intuition, my resistance to poisons, and also the clarity of my mind. One thing the gems cannot rid me of is nostalgia." Kurumiril took on a very rare, rather somber look. "After about 30 years with the humans I grew heartsore of Di'jai. This was a good kind of nostalgic. I was excited to find the forest, my world, untouched. I ventured into the desert once more, this time I had the gems to help me along the way, and there I was, standing in the very heart of Di'jai, as I had a while ago." It's strange, he spoke of this that had happened not long ago at all.

Blie grinned. "Then it was worth it all. You found your power that you had been missing before." He shifted and flicked his tail. "Is there gems that you have never found and can draw the powers from it?" He wanted to know more about the elder's powers now because it seemed like a nice power to have.

Kurumiril also grinned, he had never told anyone about his powers, especially not the humans and surely not his friends whom he missed so. He looked at Blie, "Oh there are many gems which I have not found, I do know I can pull out essences from them though, I can pull powers from every single gem existing. Although my powers aren't very concentrated, they do come in handy." Kurumiril lift his front legs to show Blie the belt he wore around his chest. "Most gems are in the human world and so before coming back to Di'jai I made this belt. On it are 7 medalions, in the are my favorite gems, the ones I use most often." He smilled, melancholia hiding away.

Blie peered at the belt for a long moment. "So those are from the human world? They are pretty. Do you mind telling me what you can draw from each of them?" This day just got better when he got to see the gems that the elder had. "And what are the humans like? There has been many tales about them, but normally the tales are of pain..."

Kurumiril knew of the stories of pain. He had heard so much of them too. "I don't wish pain to anyone other than folk who wish pain on others. I have met a few men and they were kind and well-mannered. The tales of evil men have always seemed fairytales to me. I don't really wish to elaborate on that, it's something I am quite confused about." He then looked down at his belt and started describing the seven gems, "first is the golden topaz, it helps to clear my mind from obstacles. The second is the ruby, it will slow down poison. I've also seen its color dim before, in presence of misfortune. The third is the opal, it guides my intuition in what is usually the right direction. The forth is the lapis lazuli, the beautiful blue stone which pumps me up with strength. The fifth, the emerald. I'm not sure why I am attracted to this gem. It has the same reaction to misfortune as the ruby. This attitude has given me hope in it. The sixth is the amethyst, which has the power to calm and soothe. And the last one, the most spectacular one, the diamond, which when it was given to me gave me such a strong feeling of humility and moral strength." He grinned, he wondered if Blie had received the information well.

Blie looked at each gem in turn as the elder spoke about it. Each of the gems seemed to fit just right with what he was saying. After the elder was done he sat and thought about each one for a while. "To remember that each does, must take some time. Also to find that there are even more gems that have different power." He looked up at the sky and smiled. "So much an elder can teach an adult. So much that I have yet to learn about this forest and the ones that live here."

Kuru giggled. He was rather humble at this time. "I do know much of Di'jai, but between you and I, I don't think I am any better than any adult, or teen, or pup at that. What makes me more bright? You grew up here and you know it all. I have missed a bunch, I am ilusioned." Kuru shook his head and took a really good breath. "Nevermind... Blie, I would like to know how you are. Why always grinning?" Kuru grinned himself, enjoying a breeze which brought the sweet smell to his muzzle.

"But you have seen more of the forest then I have and also have been out of the forest." Blie thought for a moment. "Why am I always grinning? Well I don't see why not. Each day is a gift that is given to us, and I don't want to waste it by frowning the day away. Plus if you smile at someone, and they smile back, then you are both smiling." With that his smile go bigger. "And if they pass by someone and smile at them, then the whole forest will be smiling."

Kurumiril kept on smiling, more and more. "What knowledge!" He exclaimed gliding across Blie then coming back towards him. "You have trully made my day a good one. Plus with such wind, and such a beautiful scent in the air, what could go wrong, right?" Kurumiril finally cleared his mind completely, perhaps just a glimmer of ghosts haunting him, just a glimmer.

Blie sniffed the air for a moment. "What kind of scent?" He always forgot that he had a sweet smell about him. "Yes this day was a good day, but it became perfect about the time I saw you running around with your eyes closed. It seemed to brighten an already bright day."

The thought of himself running around the clearing with his eyes closed made him giggle. He could see that this dragonfly had a sense of humour and purety to him. Kurumiril sniffed the air, "You don't smell that aroma? It's so soothing, so soft, so... delicious." Kuru laughed with his big white teeth.
