Really? I didn't know that... but then again, the only Lord of The Rings book I read was The Hobbit. I just felt no urge to read the rest because I had already seen the movies. That might happen to the people who watch the WoT movie (and movies, if they do the whole series). They might feel no need to read the book
.Most true fans of the literature arts will see a movie and go read the books, however I never found Tolkien all that great. He's decent but I gave up after reading the second book.

As far as the movies are concerned I hope they break each book into about 2 or 3 mini-episodes, which would make the entire series roughly 24 - 36 films.
Also I hope that they do it as an animated version, even if they film it with a green screen and real people. I just feel that the world and the One Power are both so creative that you could not just add regular special effects to make it an award winner. Also if they stick to animation they won't run into the same problem of characters aging too much between filming (like the Harry Potter films).
