User Image So apparently, this boy wasn't able to speak.
He understood what Hyo meant, obviously, and wrote something that most probably was his name, but...
...but he couldn't read it.
He shifted his head, first left, then right, as if doing so would make the writing more understandable.
Tough chance.
He was almost sure the first two symbols were something, that the Kind Spirit showed him on the last engrish lesson, but he wasn't sure which ones were they, and what in the world they meant.
Four symbols... This boy must have a really long name...

Hyo tried to remember them as much as he could. Then he might ask Raai next time, and then he'll know.
Unless he remembers them wrong.

He smiled at the boy apologetically, and next to his name, wrote his own. Maybe the view of the foreign symbols will show him where's the problem.

When the boy showed one of the exits of the garden, Hyo nodded quickly. Yes, the faster they get out of this fearsome place, the better. He stood up...
...and almost jumped in surprise, as his bare foot touched the grass. Oh no, he completely forgot...
He took his torn slipper, and showed to the young man, making sure that he'll notice that it can't be worn like this. Oh well, either he'll be able to help him fix it, or the way back will be really, really long...

Abel watched carefully as the young lady observed his name. From the way she had turned her head to side had easily alerted him that she could not understand it. His name Abel, though French in origin used the same characters of the English alphabet as did the French alphabet. She was as out of place as he. At least that man from the training facility had managed to decipher some of the words. Her it appeared not so much. That was alright.

He had expected this. It was quite alright. He watched with interest as the maiden wrote her name beside his. None of the letters in her name showed kinsman ship to the letters in the French alphabet. It was fine. He looked at her name once and soon enough it was engraved in his mind. There was no way he would forget the written form of his muse’s name. It was strange, the circles and the stacked lines but at the same time it was somehow soothing. Perhaps it was the harmony of the placement of each line for the characters. How had she pronounced it? Heaux? It was fitting for an exotic maiden as she.

Abel gaze fell upon the torn up slipper. No doubt from when she had chased him in here. Asking her to walk without her slipper on could be detrimental to her health given that she accidentally stepped on a spider or got bitten by some rodent. He couldn’t exactly wait for her to fix the slipper either… it would take to long under this dim lighting. Not that he had a sewing kit on him either. The only option left was for him to carry her and that bothered him frankly.

It wasn’t the thought of carrying her that bothered him. Rather he relished it. What bothered him was that they might be spotted coming out of the labyrinth together and he while he wasn’t quite sure about what she was thinking. He was positive that in her opinion being carried out by a man was unacceptable behavior. In fact, if he had seen a man carrying a young lady out from some bush, well… he would have made quite some speculations regarding their relationship. He did not want that to happen to them. Especially if she was… by any chance engaged.

Yet the only option he had for getting her out of this place what the one he most disliked [and liked]. Waving his hand at her to get her attention he began to act out him picking up someone or something and carrying it around. Perhaps she would get and perhaps not. As said earlier, it really all depended.

One thing was for sure. If he got her permission to carry her, he was not going to sling her across his shoulder. That was a position unfit for a woman such as her. He would instead carry her out in his arms. Much to his delight. He wasn’t sure how she would take to that position but probably a lot better than being carried over his shoulder with her bottom beside his face.

User Image ...does he...suggest what I think he does..?
Ohmyohmyohmy, what should I do...?
Hyo never was carried around, either by man or woman, not counting the time he was but a small child. And now this...this completely unrelated person... He suggests to...

...but...he's a good boy, isn't he...?

At least that's what Hyo had deducted so far. The boy's a demon (awfully lot of them around, if you'd ask him), and a man-eating one to that. True, he's fighting his murderous instincts, but...what if he won't manage to stop himself...?
...I...I hope he...
Hyo shook his head. This didn't matter. He had an awful lot of chancec to hurt him, and he didn't so far. On the contrary, he seemed very friendly and helpful. Is there anything to be scared about in him..? Ofcourse not. Which means that he deserves at least a bit of trust.
So Hyo just raised his hands towards him, and waited to be raised up.

As the young lady raised her arms toward Abel yet the male had already caught the look of doubt that had crossed her face. He wasn't surprised. He would have been pretty confused if some stranger offered to carry him. But then again he was a man and not many people offered to carry a grown man.

Taking a step towards the oriental beauty Abel gently slid his arms under her body and picked her up with ease. She was light. Even more so than Juliette and Juliette was sick. It was a good feeling to lift her up. His body agreed and his face flushed slightly. Pushing such unsightly thoughts out from his mind he shifted her position such that she might be more comfortable and maybe not see the blush on his face.

She fit perfectly into the contours of his arm. He could have stood there for hours with her in his arms without getting tired. In fact he just might have had done that except he was aware of the fact that he did not have that kind of time. Especially in the current situation they were in. Yet he did take the time to stand still for a few moments. Allowing the lady to adjust herself into a more comfortable position than the one the Frenchman had come up with. When he was sure that she was completely comfortable he began walking towards the closest exit to them. Excluding the one they had entered from originally… whichever one that may be.

Taking long smooth steps as to not disturb her or make her uncomfortable he descended back into the poor of darkness. There weren’t steps this time, rather steep inclines. Yet years of climbing hills and mountain sides had left him quite adept at going up and down such slopes. He counted seventy steps before the floor went flat. Half a step after the incline had ended he found himself stepping into leaves and branches. Another step and they were out in the moonlight.

The moment he had felt the claws of wood scratch his face he knew that they had exited the labyrinth and were back in the main garden. It was an unfamiliar part of the garden to him but in the distance he could see the large doors from which he had entered the garden in the first place. At least the part they were standing on was concrete and not dirt. He didn’t want to set his muse down on dirt. Rather he didn’t want to set her down at all but that wasn’t exactly a choice he had.

Letting her down from his arms, his right hand reached to brush the hair out of her eyes but immediately pulled back. He didn't have her permission to do that. He bowed towards the lady and turned ready to retreat to his room.

User Image It was...warm.
That was the first thought that passed through Hyo's head, when the boy lifted him, as if he weighted nothing.
His face now almost touched his savior's neck, and Hyo...he just blushed. He never, ever was in such a situation before, being held by a man like that, it felt somehow...somehow indecent.
Yet he couldn't stop himself from raising his arms, and wrapping them around the boy's neck.
It's just for safety! Safety!
...as if he'd let me fall down like this... He's so strong...
He closed his eyes, and breathing slowly, just experienced the moment.

His flight in the boy's arms ended suddenly, and a bit too quickly than Hyo would wish for. When he was set back on the ground, for a moment he kept his arms around the man's neck...until he realized just what was he doing.
He quickly let go, a deep-red blush appearing on the boy's whole face, as he didn't manage to cover it in time. Hyo turned around, his back to his savior. This probably wasn't the most ladylike behavior, but...but he just couldn't look into his eyes after making such a fool out of himself...
Yet he...couldn't leave like that. But what else could he do?
He opened his mouth slightly, and let out a quiet "Saaank yuu."

He had enjoyed the short moment at which she had wrapped her arms around his neck. In fact when she had released her hold on his neck he had to resist the urge to wrap his arms around her waist and pull her close. The human body was a dangerous thing with its desires. He was learning this all over again with her.

Having escaped the labyrinth the two were now standing out in the moonlight with their back faced towards each other. A very cliche scene in many romance novels.

Turning his head he looked at his muse and only caught a gaze of her back. That was alright. Taking quiet steps he walked off towards the building unaware of the words of thanks she had said to him. They fell instead to the silence.
