Alyssum shook her head, her gaze moving away from the foal to stare at the snow. There was no way to make him understand, not the way she understood. Words meant things... and things were words. You had to be careful how you used them if only because of that.
She tilted her head when the fruits were pushed towards her, but she chose to Alyssum licked the last of the juice from her muzzle, her tongue moving in and out quickly to make sure that the fur wasn't sticky. "Told you. My name's Alyssum. Just like the flower. What does Jumanji mean? Sounds... adventerous."

Such lessons took time. But until that time arrived, Manjii' would handle life as one smooth run. To him, actions were so much more important than words. Seems not everyone agreed to that.
The colt chuckled lightly as the other spoke while cleaning her muzzle. "Now see there? Ye remembered your name passed all that anger, and reminded me through my jitters. I had nearly forgotten...." Just goes to show how well the colt blended with words and their tones. u.u
"Eh? My name.....I guess it has no meaning. Disappointing?"

"No, not disappointing. It just means that you haven't discovered what your name means yet." Alyssum accepted this calmly, aware of the first time the revelation had come to her. Some Soquili didn't just have a name with a given meaning, like hers; some Soquili had to form the definition of their name, define themselves. She liked to think that, in some small way, she both embodied her name flower and changed the meaning to suit herself at the same time.
However, she added one fact, one that she was absolutely sure of. "But you will, and when you do... it'll be a great day."

Huh. What was there to discover? So long as he had ears and knew what his name sounded like...wasn't that enough? For now, with his simple and childish mind, that was just enough. Though his ear flicked as he quirked a brow at Alyssum. "Great day, hm? Even if the meaning isn't terribly thrilling? Or even negative?" A cold shiver jolted his frame and mind though, and Manjii' let the topic drop.
"Waaaaaah, aren't ya cold too?!? It's going straight to me bones." Dx;

Yes. The mare wanted to bob her head but refrained as the foal kept speaking. Even if the meaning was mundane or negative... knowing what the name meant, knowing how you formed it... the knowledge and power it brought made the day it was known a great day. But, maybe suh matters bored Jumanji, even if they were of paramount importance to her.
Alyssum had to admit that, as the wind picked up, she could herself grow even colder. Up until now she had been able to ignore it, her conversation and motions with the younger Soquili sufficiently distracting her even as her hooves had sunk further into the clammy snow. She shook the black-tipped appendages, her breath hanging in the air as she declared, "We'd better get out of it, then. I can take you back to your parents, if they're close by. If not... I know where there's a cave not too far away. It'll get us out of the wind, at least."
