Had she just scolded him again?
She had!
For the second time this tiny little mare had scolded him as if he were a new born foal. Such was his astonishment that he had been forced to give a literal double-take at the mare, exchanging a glance with his own reflection on the immediate scoff and then a second blink of surprise when he had looked back at her. He didn't know where this little midget got her spark from but she was bloody suicidal if she thought she could get away with talking down to him. Granted, it was physically impossible for the tiny thing to talk down to anything - or such were his affronted thougths at the time, but from a metaphorical stand point he would have hit the roof if one had existed in their immediate vicinity. Who the hell did this dwarf pony think she was? Just because she had healed a few of his wounds and probably stopped him from lapsing into a coma didn't mean she had the right to tell him what to do.
He owed her nothing.
His jaw tensed somewhat as he continued to stare at the mare, acutely aware of the pulsing in his head. His temples throbbed and he dwelled on the possible routes he could go down in order to punish her. Frankly, smooshing her under his hooves was a perfectly plausible idea at this moment in time but given his apparent vertico that was likely to turn out quite badly. He opted for the more 'reserved' approach and sauntered very slowly towards the mare with his fangs bared in disgust.
"I am old enough to be your father, midget. What right do you have to tell me to do anything?" he snarled. Coming to a halt he looked down upon the mare and indicated exactly how tall he was in comparison to her. Vanity reared it's ugly head again, but he'd always used his size as an intimidation factor in the middle of combat anyway. "I take orders, from no one."

She lifted her chin, he may be bigger than her. No, he was a giant compared to her, like a flower and a tree...His sheer size should have sent chills down her spine, but she'd been through many things. And he didn't scare her, well not completely.
"Age does not give you any right to any sort of showcase of respect, and when you act like a stubborn, ill tempered child. And with name calling atop of that, how can I not treat you any other way?." She shot back, her eyes bore into his boldly. She would not be forced into fear, merely because he was throwing a fit in her eyes.
Her wings flared slightly, they reacted to her emotions like beacons in the night. "Fine, don't listen to me. But I don't want to listen to you complain about further scars when I have to re-heal the wounds you open. You will have only yourself to blame, Kiyoshi." She used his name, it rolled off her tongue like velvet, which caused her to pause for a moment before she shook her head slightly and continued with the present.
"And just because your bigger than I am, does not mean I will cower in fear. And you can put your fangs away, I'm not impressed." She said as if it hadn't even caused a slight ripple of fear to lace through her.

Oh no she hadn't... His mind practically roared in indignation at being called a child when she was acting in the exact same fashion. Her cheeks had practically puffed out in fury and her fluttering wings made her as easy to read as an open book. She was ruffled but he didn't have time to revel in the satisfaction of this when she was too busy calling him a child. This pygmy really knew how to dig her own grave, had he been in better spirits he would have commended this and encouraged her to dig a little deeper - right now though, he'd be satisfied with her dying in a ditch with her legs still exposed.
"A child?" He spat irritably. He looked close to an outright explosion before something within him tweaked. Water seemed to douse the flames rising up in his chest and his brow lifted. For a time he closed his eyes and slowly but surely he began to laugh, his shoulders heaving as though he found the entire thing to be incredibly entertaining. He had permitted this little thing to rile him up? Really if he had let that happen he was losing his touch and deserved to be in a ditch himself. He regathered his thoughts at this and the sly smirk creased his lips as he continued to look down upon the petite mare.
"You may call me a child when you are no longer one yourself," he spoke coolly and shook his head, stirring up more feelings of vertico but he surpressed the urge to blink rapidly. "One who puffs out her cheeks and flares her wings like a ruffled spring chicken has no place for such remarks," as if to prove this point he deliberately butted his wing against her own and displaced a number of the flight feathers...something that wouldn't have happened if they weren't exposed and open to such a 'malicious assault'.
"That being said, I will admit that you are correct. I do not have to listen to you and nor do I have to remain here," brushing off her remarks regarding his potential complaints, he furled his wings against his sides and sauntered away. Placing distance between himself and the mare, he opted to take the 'high road', he was in no condition to fight with this vertico and he would rather not fall on top of her and impale himself if he misjudged. For the time being it was much more appropriate for him to walk away and recover in peace - no meddling alicorns required.
Unconcerned by her awareness of his name (it was free PR after all), he took this as his chance to leave and proceeded on. No gratitude expressed and no teary farewells involved.
Perhaps it was a good thing he'd never pursued that 'ultimate weapon' idea, he had a feeling the unicorn blood within the kids would have driven him bonkers!
And they'd be midgets...

As he began to laugh, she glared at him. It wasn't funny! Why was he laughing, of all the nerve, snorting she stomped a hoof. She was not trying to be funny, or the least bit amusing at all, and here he was laughing it up.
Some nerve.
She blinked as he in turn, was calling her a child now. She wasn't a child, her browns knit together. "My cheeks are not puffed Sir." Her chin went up as she looked away with a hmp. At the touch of his wing against hers, she automatically jumped back. As if stricken, some things she just couldn't get pasted. Somethings imprinted within her, memories she longed to forget.
She blinked several times, watching as he walked away. She said nothing, sort of just stood there, wings almost limp at her side as her heart raced within her chest, she took quick little breaths. He was not him, he wasn't going to hurt her. It was alright, she repeated to herself, as she tried to fix her feathers, shaking a bit.
"G-g-good day to you sir." She finally managed to get out. She really wasn't sure if she cared if he heard her or not.

In the past Kiyoshi had been a beast, revelling in the agony and shrieks of his captives. His victims would perish slowly or immediately depending on his mood and the entertainment they provided to him. When it came to pain and any form of torture he was a master at it, savouring every opportunity to exert his power and superiority over the being in question. Or rather he had been - those long and seemingly endless years in which he had been dragged through life by a spirit hell bent on exacting it's vengeance upon the world.
Now though...?
Well it would have been accurate to assume that he wasn't entirely sure of that himself. The jaded male had been all but destroyed and the spirit had fled in the fashion of a typical cowardly villain. Oh, in a manner of speaking it was still there he could feel it, detect that blood curdling giggle but it couldn't impress it's views upon him anymore. Instead he could hear his own thoughts with much more clarity than before. He could dwell on things, muse over subjects he had previously been forbidden to and most of all he could experience emotions he hadn't felt since he was a kid.
Her stutter and her sudden fright hadn't been lost on him and unbeknownst to her he had turned to glance over his shoulder at her words. The shaking and the hurried attempts to readjust barely ruffled flight feathers stirred something in the pit of his stomach and his mouth twisted in slight disgust at the emotion that seemed almost foreign to him. In a manner of speaking he could fully understand the spirits decision to repress such things, they weren't exactly pleasant and given his already precarious position it wasn't something he really wanted to deal with.
He did concede to the fact that having a unicorn would be beneficial though... His recovery time would be much faster and if his blood wasn't given too much strain he would be fit for proper travel in days instead of a few weeks. Logically speaking he could make use of her even when that emotional part was crooning over the fact that she seemed to need a purpose and had issues...Issues that the retarded 'knight' in him wanted to fix.
Good gods when did he turn into a romantic adolescent again?
Frankly, he was on the brink of letting the spirit take over again just to dispatch of such ridiculous behaviour. However, logic negotiated with his emotions and the compassion he felt was soon silenced and replaced with a begruding acceptance of the circumstances. He could get rid of her when he was fixed, for now he'd humour her.
"Are you coming or not?" he growled.

She stared after him, brows knit together as she cocked her head to the side. He was a crazy, giant..a**. She thought with a twitch of her ear.
And she had to be just a glutton for the abuse, she thought as she flicked her tail and began walking towards him. "Alright.." She muttered softly, she tightened her wings against her sides, she wasn't going to let him get those again.
She had to know, that deep down somewhere this was possibly a very bad idea. But she followed after him anyways, he still needed her. And well, her son was fully grown, and so was her father, she had no one else who needed her attention 24/7. Why not, it could be an adventure...
Hopefully, she wouldn't end up broken after it though.

He'd resent being called 'crazy', he was of perfectly sound mind even if his body was battered and throbbed with every footstep. With every flick of a hoof, stretch of a limb his seemingly ancient bones creaked and the muscles groaned in protest. He had to express gratitude towards the spirits for not giving him arthritis, if they had he expected her would have preferred being dead and would have happily commited suicide to prove the point. Alas he knew these limbs would loosen and the pulsing would dissipate as he woke up and his wounds recovered. It was all about patience and if there was one thing he could be, it was patient. Admittedly that patience usually had an ulterior motive but he had always possessed the ability to wait for years, a mere shadow and myth until the opportunity presented itself.
...Now if he'd been crazy that would have been impossible!
However had he known she considered him 'giant' he would have pointed out she was stating the obvious and the 'a**' was something he'd heard before. Technically speaking he had heard a lot worse coming from individuals, most especially his victims. Unfortunately if there was one skill he did lack it was the ability to read minds and as such her mental insult was lost upon his looming form.
Nevertheless he was entertained by the fact that the mare could shut her mouth and do as she was told without argument. What was more satisfying, though he couldn't really fathom why this was so; was the fact that she'd stopped shaking. Now that he thought about it she had stopped stuttering as well - she wasn't as fiesty as she let on, although her little out burst and bolschy behaviour had been incredibly entertaining for a brief period of time.
"Better," he murmured, quite deliberately aiming it at the mare to indicate that he was clearly her superior and proceeded in the direction he had been heading. Now if she exploded at that he already knew how to handle her, touching her wings was hardly difficult, even if she was cuddling them as close to her form as possible.
Casting such thoughts aside he released a sigh and pushed himself on, returning to his own more important musings that tended to resemble more so around the wierd blackout visions than anything else.

She picked her way towards him, she was thinking if this was really the thing to do. He had been in such an awful state when she'd first came upon him, someone, or well someones had done that to him.
Danger. It screamed out in her mind, Run away from him..it screamed louder. But she couldn't turn and just walk away, something about him pulled at her. Maybe it was his silent stuborn way of letting on, that he still needed her help, even if it was only for his own, vain selfish reasons.
Maybe it was something else, she wasn't sure. But she just couldn't bring herself to turn away from him and flee like her mind was begging her to do. She finally came up beside him, she would not trail after him like some lost puppy, she was not lost, nor a pet of any sort.
No more would she be someones pawn to be played, someones toy to be broken and abused. She wouldn't be so full of fear any longer, no she wouldn't she'd take her own path, and find her own way...Dangerous or not.
She would help those in need, and he needed her help. So she'd go with him, share this path that he followed. Hopefully it wouldn't end in her doom.
At his better, she sent him a glare of sorts before she tossed her mane and raised her chin. "Rest when your body begs for it, and actually listen to it.." She said, keeping her eyes straight ahead, she curled her tail up to her tip.

How did you explained to someone that your own family had torn you to pieces? More to the point did you ever wish to divulge this information or develop the tail to indicate that the conflict had spanned decades? Kiyoshi could immediately deny such desires and with a disgruntled snort cast aside any urges to inform the world of his foul treatment. Frankly there were few in this world that needed to know about the events that had transgressed in the previous nights; he had been defeated in the most humiliating way possible and he was loathe to admit it. Had he been of his own mind such stupidity would never have happened but it was with great irony that the spirit had fled and had left him dumbstruck before the hooves, teeth, wings and horns of his opponents.
Frankly he hadn't stood a chance.
Nevertheless it was through good genetics and pot luck that he now found himself alive. Anemone's intervention had saved his life, prompted his own body to jump start his senses. He was recovering quickly in comparison to most creatures but he would show neither gratitude or appreciation for the help provided. After all, she had been a meddling passerby to begin with and had quickly transformed into something reminiscent of his mother in the space of a few short hours. If he had had his way (and his new fangled emotions had co-operated) she wouldn't be here now.
That being said if she continued with the godforsaken behaviour it would lead to her doom! His eye was already begin to twitch in agitation and his jaw had tightened considerably. It hadn't crossed his mind that she was simply looking out for his well being, that was a concept far too foreign for the meglomanic stallion - no; all it sounded like was further nagging. Did she honestly have to push her luck with every passing second? He may have invited her along but he wasn't a freaking saint!
"Must you lecture me as if I am a child?" he snarled in disgust. "I should think I am old enough to tend to my body's requirements."

Her chin shot up as she held her head high with pride at his snarl, she'd should be used to this by now, its all he ever did it seemed.
She shot him a look, but for the most part she remained silent. Ears slightly drawn back, as she continued at his side, she did her best to keep at that pace, she didn't falter or show any sighs of the fatigue that had plagued her before.
But the damn giant had legs the size of elder trees, and his strides were as wide as rivers! She'd always been on the more, petite side of things. But she'd never met someone as large as he was...he could shelter a herd from a blizzard she thought with a faint snort of a laugh.
She finally broke the silence, "Ah, your sparkling persoanlity continues to amaze me.." She replied, tones even. Her voice soft, hushed like a whisper, as if she were cooing to a small foal, soft vocals, tiny stature..no wonder he called her a midget she thought with a glare. He did it again, and she'd bite him.

What did she expect him to do? Be the most charming gentleman she had ever met in the history of her life?! She would be in for a shock if she expected so much as a genuine smile from the beast who was currently in a state of extreme frustration. She couldn't help herself or the way she was of course, mares were naturally infuriating and he fully understood why he had dispatched of them immediately when he was bored but if she had hoped for him to be more pleasant she was in for a long wait. 'Pleasant' by Kiyoshi's definition had been the moment he had invited her to accompany him when she had been close to tears and her composure had been seemingly smashed to pieces by the simplest of touches.
Now though?
Well, that sort of thing had completely disappeared.
If her behaviour following his generosity hadn't been enough to push him over the edge her laughter and the patronizing words that follow had most certainly done the trick. He came to an abrupt halt and with flashing eyes lowered his head to butt his nose rather harshly against her own. Had he been human that would have rivaled a slap and it was fairly evident he was not above treating a mare the same was as a male - if the stupid creature believed in equality then she would be treated as such in all things.
"I never said you had to take my offer, I never said you had to stay. If you are so appalled by my nature than shut your mouth and leave!" he snapped.

She stepped back, and away from him. Eyes shinning, but not with the tears through, she could feel the tightening in her chest. She would not cry infront of this b*****d she thought, but fury sparkled now.
Ears pinned back against her skull, she shook slightly. It wasnt the first time, she'd been struck in any sort of manner, and well this time it could be her own fault, she was pushing where she had a good feeling she shouldn't be.
"Do that, ever again, and..." She let her pause trail on, she wasn't one to make threats. It just wasn't in her nature, She just glared at him and snorted.
Horn gleaming, she would make use of it if she needed. By the unholy gods of this land, she would no longer be anyones toy, puppet or anything else along those lines that caused her pain. She was not going to be walked over... But yet, she stayed there with him.

"And what?" Kiyoshi spat with a short laugh. How many creatures had threatened him in his life time? How many had puffed out their chests and attempted to tower above the beast that surpassed them in height by a long way. It wasn't in his nature to be intimidated, it wasn't in his nature to be terrified by threats that would never come to pass. All in all it was usually regarded with a great sense of sadistic amusement by the stallion who would eventually goad them into proving their words. They were never able to prove such remarks though and as a consequence there were many stallions and mares alike with their corpses strewn across the country side - what had become of their bodies when they had fallen was of no concern to him, they could have been devoured for all he cared.
"Let me guess," he sneered after a few moments, his jaw tightening into a dark smirk. The fangs protruded more prominently from his mouth and he regarded her with something between disgust and pleasure. Perhaps it was due to the familiarity she provided in her words, but something inside him stirred and the darker aspects of his nature came out to play. Compassion and understanding were most certainly not in his immediate mindset. "You will thrust your horn into my chest and tear my beating heart from within, snap my wings and blind me!" he repeated the phrases he had heard so many times.
"All this from a mare that quivers at the slightest touch of a wing!" He gave a snort of laughter, more audible than his first and shook his head, withdrawing his head and backing away. "Sweetheart," he began again, his voice a gentle lull as he mimicked the tone she had used to patronise him over his behaviour. "You know as well as I do; you do not have the strength or courage to lift a hoof to me. You can't even walk away! You are nothing more than an obedient dog who trails it's master in the hope of receiving a direction and a sense of purpose!"
He began to walk away again, another snort of laughter escaping his throat...

The muscles in her jaws twitched as she stood there and took it, really what point was there to deny any of it. Past images flashed in her mind, ached through her being, her mind screamed at her to run away from him. He was just like everyone else her mind swore, but something deeper kept her from turning and running with everything she was, to put space between them.
She didn't have a clue to his darker deeds, but as his tones and movements hinted at it, she could only shudder.
"No, I will not take any acts of violence against you.." She responded, it just simply was no in her nature. Her coat bristled a bit, she took in a breath, "I am no ones pet..no ones toy! No longer will another use me for their own amusement and purposes...Broken, bleeding..almost dying..I will not break to any ones will..not yours. Not theirs..Never. I didn't break then, I wont now.." She almost screamed, her chest heaved a bit, she felt a bit better really.
As he walked away, she simply stood there staring after him. Head jerking away, she scowled at the earth. Damn him, damn him to hell! She thought with a snap of her tail, she'd not follow him another step...

The entertainment value of her hissy fit was lost in the moment it dissipated. His amusement seeped away with as much ease as her fury had and his otherwise disgruntled manner returned. Apparently she had needed that, another requirement that all females seemed to have - the sudden urge to explode, vent and declare exactly how they felt. He didn't know why they did it and how it was meant to relieve stress but they all seemed to do it - he vaguely remembered his mother suffering from the same 'illness'. He couldn't recall exactly how his father would have responded to it but for the general male populace it seemed easier to let them rant.
Frankly - Kiyoshi preferred to kill them; or he had done. One less wailing and weak female in the world and all that jazz. Alas something in him had changed and he seemed to have become a stereotypical male to some degree. She'd ranted and he'd let her, he had now become one of the general male populace he regarded with such disdain in that department. If he wasn't careful he was going to turn into a cabaret dancer and have his hair braided.
No, no thank you.
"Now that you are finished," he glanced over his shoulder and arched a brow. His expression remained unreadable and he didn't pause for long before continuing onwards. "I would like to keep moving. If you are coming then do so; if you are not then go home. I have no desire to be hindered by a dead weight," He pointed out coolly.
