"I wonder what a color seminar is?"

That's what Amika was asking herself when she was walking towards the room that the seminar was in. With her silvery-tanned hair (from too much sun) and her yellow dress that was accompanied by a golden tank-top shirt, Amika was in no hurry. If anything, she was comfortably walking with no fuss nor hurry -- almost like a daydreamer.

When she opened the door to the room, there were already a few people in there, seated -- one was standing in front of the group, in what Amika thought were strange clothes.

"Oh."

"Am I late?" said Amika as she quietly closed the door and stood there, putting her feet together -- she had on yellow skimmer shoes, by the way.

Oh gawd. Did all of the Tabula, like, pick one color and then stick to it like glue? Tanee wanted to get a clipboard and beat herself with it. Only that would not be Polite. She had learned all about Politeness from Locke. Then she had decided to totally disregard it in favor of hero worship of Aquinas, which seemed to be working out pretty well in her own opinion (which was the only one that really mattered anyway).

"Yeah, but only a little, so it's okay." She put on a forbidding, stern face that soon resolved itself into a sunny smile. "I forgive you," Tanee told the yellow girl graciously. "You sit there," she said, pointing out a spot between two of the other extremely color-challenged Tabula. "And then you write down your favorite color."

"Oh" answered Amika. She didn't realize she was late -- but then again, Amika didn't really pay much attention to time.

Amika smiled when the girl forgave her and told her to sit down."Thank you."

"Hi!" exclaimed Amika exuberantly to the other Tabula who sat next to her. Then she looked down and started to think about what was her favorite color. "Hmm...the sun or the moon?" mumbled Amika, deciding better to write down sun's color with moon's color on the paper. "Oh! And..." And then she wrote orange. Her handwriting was sufficient -- it was print with a dash of fast cursive. Some letters seemed to look like others, but Amika didn't notice.

Tanee flipped the page and looked at the next drawing studiously. It was a stick figure with cute pigtails and an open mouth, with a question mark next to it. "Now," she said imperiously. "I want you each to tell me your favorite color. And then you have to tell us why."

She paused. Some people could find this difficult, so...

"For instance," she said, "My favorite color is rainbow. I like the colors rainbow because they are bright and beautiful. They make me happy." Falling silent, she contemplated the group and then pointed to one of them at random. "You go first," ordered Tanee.

Real peaked in to the seminar knowing he was late. He was wearing a black long sleeve V-neck with a classic deep red Arabic scarf. The black and red looked good with the golden bangles and the faded bash shorts that were torn at the edges. Real was quite observant of the color schemes and combinations of the world so he wasn't completely incompetent in relation to color. The doors were shut and he could hear the instructor's last instruction from outside.

......

He opened the door and a bit of a screeching sound occurred. He walked quietly and picked up a sheet of paper and a black marker. He wrote his name, his favorite color and a reason Gold was his favorite color. Gold is my favorite color because it shines and inspires me. Then he looked for a seat.

Amika was surprised by the sudden screeching -- and the abruptness of the moment when a new person came in.

She quickly looked back to Tanee, who was waiting for answers.

She held the paper in her hand, holding it at eye's level. "My favorite color is sun's and moon's color, orange." "They make me feel warm and cool." "I like the sun and moon." Amika grinned widely, looking at Tanee like a little puppy who was about to be rewarded.

Lenneth's attention emmediately turned to the door, sky blue eyes wide with curiosity. She was brought back to the seminar when Amika spoke.
I guess I'll go next, she thought, to go ahead and get it out of the way,...

Her soft voice strugled to reach any great volume - maintaining the gentle coo of a dove, however, even as she forced herself to be heard.
"I like pastel colors, because the are soft, and gentle. Like the dawn sky, or spring time." She then offered a gentle smile. Pastels were also much like her, aswell - or so one could infer.

Jaydon had to stop and think for a few moments on Tanee's next instruction: why did blue strike him as his favorite color? The large amount of blank space on the page after the word "because" was a little daunting. It was just something that felt right to him.

'because it's cool and calm.' he finally wrote. For a moment, he had panicked at the thought of Tanee pointing in his direction as an example before he'd figured it out, but thankfully, Amika had spoken up. The expression on the sunny Tabula's face begged for praise, and another was soon to follow, the quieter girl who'd arrived before him.

He nearly jumped out of his skin at the screech of teh door, pale blue eyes darting about momentarily before another tabula, this one dressed in colors that weren't so painful, entered the room and started looking for somewhere to sit. Immediately, Jaydon's eyes returned to his page.

As he walked in a pale dressed tabula glanced at Real. Real was intrigued by the girl in white. He thought to himself; Why would anyone wear white to a seminar on color. Then he looked down and realized he, himself was wearing black. But her long white dress was so reliving within the blend of colors. She was so elegant Real could not resist sitting as close to her as he could. He approached the seat next to her and sat down. Then he spoke, "I'm Real and I like gold, because it shines and inspires me." He spoke confidence. Then he looked to the girl in white and asked her what her name was.

Oh great, um, do what? Zero glanced quickly at the tabula around him, trying to swallow his rising panic. What were they doing? Letters? Here?! But it looks like they were past the wax and sand stage he was at, as his "A" refused to stand on two even legs and his "B" looked more like a "D" and the "C"... well, his teacher didn't talk about the "C."

The tabula hesitated and picked a marker at random, uncapping it and drawing an experimental line on the page. Oooh! Cool! He replaced the cap and grabbed another, then repeated the line. Ew! That color didn't look good. Zero went through each of the markers, then studied the marks he made on the page. Hmm, which was his favorite?

When it came to his turn, Zero bit his lip and looked at Tanee. "I... I don't know," he admitted, "Some of these are nice, but other's... I don't see the one I like," he paused, adding, "Don't know name of it. But! Butbutbut I like this one! Here!" He held up his paper and pointed excitedly to where the blue and green markers had crossed lines, creating a sort of teal. "It look nice! Like grass, but not! Like blue-sky, but not. Um... what is called? 'm not far in lessons yet..."

She gave the black-red-gold Tabula a stern look as he walked in. Being late was inexcusable! Gosh. Hadn't they read that there was a start time? Oh well, one more Tabula was another Tabula, right? Well, actually was he a Tabula? She hadn't been so fancy-dressing right when she was born. Gosh, she hadn't even wanted to wear clothes at all, how horrid!

Okay, so she still was very prone to wanting to run around naked sometimes. But only sometimes. And rarely! Okay. Once a week.

Maybe.

She shook her head to clear it and turned the full brunt of her attention to Amika. It was sort of like a hard breeze in March. "Oh, you like white and yellow and orange," she translated, smiling. "That is a good place to start I think you will do very well." Did she ever even breathe while talking? No, it didn't seem like it. Tanee took a deep breath and slid an orange bangle off her wrist. The others jangled merrily as she passed it down to the summery Tabula. "Thanks!"

Then the white tabula spoke up and she turned her attention there, too. "'Kay," she said, thinking, "Well, they are good colors for you but they do not really often give focal points so we will go over How To Organize An Outfit, later." Already ideas for other seminars were boiling up in her head but she ignored it because she was unfastening a really long silver chain with a white stone on it from her wrist. It had, evidently, been a necklace before she had appropriated it. "Here!" Tanee looped it up a couple of times and jumped down to give it to Lenneth. It was evident that she normally didn't wear so much jewelry that the bandles and bracelets made it almost to her elbow; already, having given away two bracelets and a necklace, the jewelry looked more reasonable.

Her glance slid around to Jaydon and Tanee regarded him quietly. Why wasn't he talking? Well, she thought, he didn't have to if he really didn't want to. Then, back to the maybe-Tabula. "I'm real, too," said Tanee chirpily, perhaps not realizing his name was Real or just being clever. "I like gold too! Here!" And she tossed a gold bangle to him.

Then to Zero, and she listened very attentively, golden-eyed gaze serious as if a wrong answer would make her come over and bite his hair off. "Blue and green," she sumrised, "Your favorites are blue and green." For a second, she seemed thoughtful. She even struck an appropriate pose, one hand on her chin and the tip of her index finger tapping her upper lip. Then she straightened, eyes bright, and shouted, "That's good! Very good, really good because you know what?" Tanee practically leapt around the table to throw her arms around Zero. "Cuz it means you're learning~!" And she deposited a pretty silver bangle with a blue stone onto the table in front of him, but seemed to forget to let go of him.

"Blue and green?" Zero echoed, mystified. He returned his attention to the colors on the paper, tapping those two colored chunks and repeating their names. "Blue and green, bloo and greeeeeen, green and bloooooo..."

He looked up again when praised, visibly brightening up until -- "Gaaak!" He flailed briefly when she hugged him, then stopped to peer at the bracelet dropped in front of him. "Green? No! It's blue!" He said happily. He'd look up to see if she approved of him or not, but it was difficult when she was still seemingly attached to him. "Um, what now? Is good to wear colors we like or...?"

"Issokay," said Tanee, smiling. It was a little weird seeing her grin way up at close range- at least, she thought so, from when she was investigating her face. Apparently there were things called "pores" and they were Not Good to be seen. But Tanee didn't see anything when she looked so assumably her face was clear of pores, whatever they were.

She disentangled herself from the younger Tabula and assumed her appropriate-thinking-pose. Then she smiled in a maternal way and said "Yes" in a way that made it very clear she didn't really have to think about it at all. "You should always wear colors you like. You see, colors are important because the colors you like tell people about you. I like rainbow, so you know I am a happy person, and you like blue and green, so I know you are calm. That's how it is. You know because blue and green and purple are cool colors and red and orange and white are warm. I have never really experienced a color actually being cold or warm but they are so-says-the-book-and-me."

Tanee's tone made it clear that her opinion was the most important of the two.

He tilted his head at this, studying the colors in front of him. Experimentally, he touched each scribbled blob of color, waiting. Each one felt the same to him, being neither warm nor cool... But how did green and blue amount to being calm? He examined Tanee's outfit carefully. "If blue and green are calm," he began, pointing at the appearances of said colors on her outfit, "Does this mean calm too? Or all together make happy? What about, um..." Zero turned, then pointed to Gavin's bright gold and pink outfit. "That? Or-" he pointed to Jaydon's somber colors. "Is calm too? Blue looks different from this blue," Zero observed, tapping the lighter hue on his paper thoughtfully. "Dark and light mean different colors too? And what about that outfit?" He gestured towards Lenneth in her white and pastel outfit.

Come to think about it, didn't he know someone else who wore white? Granted, she was what the robe-dress-wearers called a "Goddess" but did the color rules applied to them too?

He looked down at his own outfit: lots of brown. He liked the outfit because it was cozy, but he figured Tanee would have something else to say about it.

"Ohh...thank you!" exclaimed Amika as she took the orange bangle from Tanee. She felt happy when Tanee said that she did well, but she was elated when she received something! Other than her key (and clothes, but Amika forgot that detail), she hadn't gotten anything from anyone. Then again, Amika didn't know that many people.

But either way, she got an object! Imitating Tanee, she slid it across her wrist and left it there. She moved her hand and the bangle would move with it. Amika was very pleased.

Overhaering what Tanee was saying to the other Tabula about colors, Amika was also pleased to hear that coincidentally two of the colors she had chosen --orange and white-- were considered warm colors. "That means I have the sun's colors on me, yay!"
