Bowing slightly but still retaining his cold tone the clone spoke, “As our mistress commands.” It was simple for the clone to obey his creators mistress and as he moved to sit he heard the chair creaking slightly as if unseen muscles were tensing to jump. With no warning the copy of Arch grasped the back to the chair holding it in place as he sat. Regardless of the the fact that the clone had no emotions he was apprehensive, what could their mistress want with it. However these were questions he knew better than to ask so still wearing that impersonal tone that came with the clones’ lack of emotions it asked simply, “what is it our lady would like to talk with this one about?”

’What. The. ********> Were the only words that came to mind after Charlie was thrown onto her hands and knees on something hard? Her eyes opened slowly, carefully. She expected to see some thugs and a dark dingy basement. But instead, here she was on a bridge of stone and there was a castle splayed in front of here, more like loomed over her ... Castle?! Scrambling to her feet she examined her hands, they were red from the fall. Lovely.

What the hell was this place? It certainly wasn’t South Jersey anymore, you’d have to go into the city to even thing of finding a pad like this place. Glancing behind herself her heart sank, there was no other way, she had to walk towards the damned building.

Charlie’s sneakers made no noise against the stones; there was something odd about his. The wind didn’t blow and there was no sound, her internal warning sirens were having a fit. Before she knew it, she had reached the door. Her shaking hand went to open it when the door swung itself open, no one was there? Stepping inside after looking both sides of the door like some idiot about to cross the street, she called out, “Hellooo? Aye yo? Anyone in this place…”

The clone of Arch that was still in the Parlor moved out of the shadows at the sound of the young girl’s voice. He was quick to move into her line of sight before bowing and speaking in a cold tone, “our mistress welcomes you. If you would like this one can direct you to the dining room or you may rest here for a moment before meeting our mistress.” The clone straightened his back and stood ready for the new guests response, hoping that she wouldn't run off like the last one. If that were to happen the real Arch might chose to end this copy's existence in a less than comfortable manner.

((Wah! This is going to be fun, only two pages in and my character is already in three different places at once. I hope I don't get too confused... Oh well it's a challenge and that's always fun.))

"Oh..?" She half-turned, feigning innocent ignorance. Of course all the doors were locked. With an inward sigh, Yvette realized she would have to go through all of them to make sure she didn't miss anything. But that was a job for later, and at the moment she would have to do away with Nimue's pesky little servant. She looked him up and down, trying to figure if there was something particularly important about him she should know. But nothing, on the outside at least. She, in turn considered her possible approaches to the situation. No doubt she could dissuade him, as in her experience people gave up rather quickly. Especially when they had a job to do. Maybe the fake innocence and/or confusion would work for a time...

"I'm sorry, I just wanted to look around. I promise I won't mess anything up, you can go back to whatever you were doing.. Sorry." She added an extra sorry, since a lot of nice people seemed to forget they had said it, and repeated themselves. It was also a bit annoying, and hopefully the other would tire of it quickly enough.

Charlie scowled at the man, scoffing. Why was he talking so proper? Maybe that was some odd custom here. Here? This isn’t a place, she corrected herself. It was a dream, probably. She had those oddly vivid dreams where she could almost, ALMOST see herself staying asleep forever. That would be an extreme case of bed head, though. And no breakfast, oh god.

Charlie internally screamed at herself to stay focused. Her eyes twitched over to them tall man, his long hair and careful eyes. He seemed almost absent minded, as if he wasn’t completely whole. Then it all slammed into her like a flipping Tonka truck. Why was he expecting her?! How did he know…who’s mistress? “Who is your…Mistress, hum?” She stated aloud, “What is your name?” Her mind was scattering violently from question to question, conclusion to conclusion, it was almost as if she were picking up various trains of thought.

Nimue slumped in her chair, lower lip protruding to pull into a mode of pouting. "Oh, I don't know..." she grumbled and crossed her arms. A clock would have been nice to look at, but all that hung upon the walls were the moving paintings done by old, dead artists. She imagined the ticking sound of an antique clock. She used to have one in some room she sat in before, whichever that was, long ago. What happened to it? She set it on fire and threw it into one of the connected worlds. The ticking sound annoyed her and the one she imagined was no better. She scowled, feeling the imaginary headache forming and her anger at it rising. "I HATE waiting."

Arch-in the halls-with Yvette
Arch himself now smiled with an inherent warmth, showing his emotions. If he didn’t know any better it would seem the mistress’s guest was trying to get rid of him. However the trouble was that he didn’t know this woman and that might prove to be very dangerous for him in the future. So for now he played it smart speaking warmly, “It’s quite alright you don’t have to be sorry. What kind of servant would I be if I abandoned milady’s guests? However the truth is I do have to finish dinner for milady and her guests so I will take my leave. Of course I will be leaving someone with you so you don’t get lost this close to the evening meal.”

Pausing a moment Arch made another copy then turned to it speaking coldly, “escort this young lady to the dining room when she is ready to meet my mistress, or when milady calls for dinner to be served.” Then turning back to the young guest his tone immediately warmed, “do be careful my mistress likes to put traps on the doors that are set off when someone tries to open it with out the key. It’s half the reason she didn’t give me the right key when I first started working for her.” Then without another word he moved quickly toward the kitchen ready to get back to the work that had been interrupted so easily by his mistress.

Clone#1-in the Parlor-with Charlie
The clone put almost no thought into the guest’s first question making his reply seem all the more practiced, “Our mistress is Nimue, she is the one who sent your invitation.” that was all that was needed to answer the question and that was all the response Charlie would get unless she asked for more. The second question however was a little bit harder. The copy wasn’t exactly sure how to answer it, but eventually found the best response, “this one asks your forgiveness Miss, but this one doesn’t have a name. It is difficult to explain, the first would be able to clarify, or perhaps our mistress would tell you.” The truth of the matter however was that Arch had forbidden the clones from divulging their true nature.

Clone#2-in the dining room-with Nimue
The clone shrunk at the mistress’s raised voice, even without emotions the copies had a survival instinct that kept them from unnecessary danger until their task was finished. However it was a necessary danger that the clone ask, “this one asks forgiveness but is our mistress imagining the clock again?” the mistress’s health and well being was a general concern of Arch and his clones, but with that concern came the danger of making her angry.

Colonel Mustard-in the lavatory-with, the Revolver
((The internet fell out from under me... so this was interesting I hope it’s not confusing. Yeah the router caught on fire... Not my fault... um, I think Arch is now in four places...))

Nimue jumped, her heading turning so quickly it would have flown off if not so fully attached by a neck, and glared at the clone. "I am not imagining that clock!" How did it-- he know about her habit? It. She couldn't decide on what to call this. Arch-clone seemed fine aloud, but in her mind... a he or an it? She relaxed back into the ugly chair, her eyes stuck to the clone and the creases of her anger lifted and smoothed. The sorceress tilted her head, pondering how the talent of the young man she took (or stole) worked after many years of forgetting or becoming bored with that question with a hidden answer. "What do you think--or what does Arch think if you, yourself cannot conjure anything. Will it end in disaster? ...Or will nothing change?" Her voice seemed hard, yet as it neared the end of her question, softened greatly to a near whisper as her gaze fell to her lap.

Clone#2-in the dining room-with Nimue
The clone kept perfectly still, if the mistress were inclined to destroy him then that was her prerogative. However there was an opening for the copy to speak and it said simply, “This one is forced to apologize again. It was not this one’s place to say anything.” However the mistress’s question had the copy stumped. The clone knew that Arch would have something to say, but it would without a doubt sound meaningless coming from a soulless husk. However Arch's clones were never good at improvising so the shell spoke simply, “this one doesn’t think, but the first would say that the only inevitable thing in any world is change. Also it is only a complete disaster if our mistress doesn’t enjoy herself at least a little.” Actually Arch wouldn’t have said it, at least not out loud. The real Arch would have dodged the question and changed the subject never feeling comfortable giving his opinion to his mistress.

She nodded imperceptibly 'Damn straight.. The thought settled smugly at the top of her mind, and she regarded the clone with a bright curiousity.

"My, you're an odd one, aren't you? I wonder, how fast can you run......" Leaning forward, she stared the clone in the eyes, for a troublesome second losing the half facade of cheerful innocence, as she wondered if there was a way she might conjure a black hole up behind it and push it in. No time to wonder now, though, she scolded herself sternly, straightening up and click-clacking farther down the hallway, facade firmly back in place.

No doubt she could find a way to shake the crony.

Clone#3-in the halls-with Yvette
The clone thought for a moment before replying to the young guest’s first question. It was an easy question to answer, but the copy still needed time to sift through centuries of knowledge before being able to recall the correct response. When the answer came the clone spoke in the ordinary cold tone, “yes, our mistress has used similar adjectives and because the first agrees with our mistress it must be true.” an awful mouthful answering a rhetorical question. The clone followed the mistress’s guest as it continued replying to the visitor’s questioning of the copy’s abilities, “the first usually answers queries as to his abilities in the form of, ‘Enough’. For example the first might say that he is fast ‘enough’ or strong ‘enough’ or old ‘enough’, and because this one is as fast as the first then that would mean that this one can run ‘fast enough’ as well.”

Arch, servant of the Sorceress Nimue-in the kitchen-alone.
Arch’s kitchen was enormous, big enough to feed an army, a simple throw back to his mistress’s seeming need to over do everything. However the kitchen suited Arch just fine, it was one of the few places in his lady’s realm with hot and cold running water and electricity. It was equipped with an entire line of gas ovens and stoves, and any other piece of cooking equipment one could imagine. Except of course for a george foreman grill(one lovely disappearance under mysterious circumstances... or simply had a knife put through it and was subsequently cast into the ocean...) and spoons.

Arch did keep a few spoons for his own personal use but they were never left unattended even in the kitchen. There were multiple entrances, or exits, depending on how you chose to think of them. Of course like the rest of the Lady Nimue’s realm, time wasn’t a ruling factor. Something that would normally take hours to cook could be done in minutes and something that might spoil in a matter of hours if not properly stored could rest on a counter for centuries. In fact the only reason Arch had to keep a refrigerator was to make something cold if it was meant to be served that way. However none of that mattered, for now there was only his art.

((So out of quick curiosity, does our lady Sorceress have any particular dietary concerns? Allergies, fad diet, veg, likes/dislikes? Ordinarily I would be concerned with the rest of the group, however with Arch’s character he wouldn’t care much about poisoning the guests’.))

"Oh, so clones aren't invisible, are they?" She stopped walking suddenly, and placed a slender finger to her forehead. "Oh dear, I seem to have contracted a sudden, ghastly head ache - would you mind running off and getting me a glass of water?" It was only a half lie, actually. The clone's undying blandness made her about ready to strangle him, hence the earlier question of invincibility. Nothing was easy these days.

She regarded the clone shrewdly from beneath her hand, jumping to a few conclusions about Arch as she did.

Clone#3-in the halls-with Yvette
The copy might have felt a little on the spot if it had the ability to feel anything at all. The mistress’s young guest was asking a lot of questions but the clone didn’t have the insticts to tell that something was amiss so it continued answering politely, “This one wouldn’t know about clones, however this one is far from invincible. It would be easier to destroy this one than the first.”

Then a level of concern hit the copy, not the clone’s own emotion but the knowledge of what the mistress might do if anything were to happen to one of her guests. The clone searched the area only finding a vase and knowing that it would be improper to offer the guest the water from that container so a simple bow preceded the clone’s reply, “of course Miss, this one will return as quickly as possible. If you need to sit down turn left down the next hallway. there should be a chair, provided it hasn’t wandered off.” The clone then turned away from Yvette intending on taking the fastest possible route to get the guest a glass of water.

"Oh, thank you." Her smile shone with misdirected gratitude. Good that the thing had taken the bait - she was quite pleased, and didn't mind letting it show through, as it would most likely be interpreted as appreciation for the clone's action.

With a gentle nod, so as not to 'set her head off,' or it would appear that way, she walked around the corner to the left into the afore mentioned hallway. As soon as she was out of sight, she whipped off her shoes, and scurried down the walk hurriedly, making not a sound since she wasn't wearing anything on her feet.

Yve hurtled into the next hallway, and took a slow breath, hoping the far-from-indestructible clone didn't suddenly appear next to her.

{She eats anything and everything, as long as it doesn't require a spoon. ;3}

Nimue's saddened gaze turned to her lap. "This..." She scowled standing rather quickly, sending the ugly leather chair to bang against the far wall. This thing! It! Her hatred showed in the flames that erupted at her finger tips to spread to her shoulders, the intensity of the heat causing her sweat to start at her forehead. "I will burn it," she hissed, turning to the poor Arch-clone. The lesser being. Lately, this has been easily sparked, the violent feel of need. Destroy them. After ridding of this annoying thing, she would find one of her guests. Perhaps they would prove much more...? The sorceress' lip curled back and she stepped forward. "Come! The Void waits you."
