I want to know the ultimate question. The question that the ultimate answer answers. We know the answer, but the question is still out there.

There is no way we could prove that life could be calcium based, you want to know why? Cause we are NOT scientists. We do not have science degrees, we do not have labs to test theories, we're smart but not THAT smart. Anything we came up with in here would be pointless since we would have no way to test it and the only way to prove a theory is to test it.

Io does not support life, at the most it supports bacteria sized life. This has been proven by the pictures taken of it which have no life forms there. There is no sentient life on Io, it has been proven by the satellites that have passed by it and seen nothing.

Saverio C.
There are so many better things to know! How to create a perpetual energy machine, how shut off human aging, what created the universe, or if there is a god!

I agree with all this...
I personally would want to know how to become immortal. Whether it be by machines, vampires, some crazy fountain in the middle of nowhere...
And when I say "immortal", I mean immortal. None of this "remembered" crap...or any sort of metaphorical s**t.
If there is no way to become immortal and if I can't make a way for that...then, I'd want to know the truth about the afterlife. That way after I'm done living in sin, I'll know if I should repent or not.

I don't understand the fascination of immortality; the want of it just seems to be triggered by fear (personal experience -- I'd like it too because I'm scared, sometimes). Wouldn't it be easier to just accept that it cannot happen and just worry about one's current life?

*derailed*

Back on topic, I guess it would be really nifty to know how to become immortal. I doubt it would be as great as people think it would be -- I know I wouldn't enjoy it -- but it is one of those things that humanity has always searched for. Another piece of information that would be just awesome to know is how to travel in a spatial fourth dimension -- Cube 2: Hypercube style. Being able to not only travel through time, but being able to travel through different planes of time influenced by the conditionals at that time.

I'm scared to die...not only because I don't know will happen then..but, because I don't know what I'm missing out on and I'm worried I'll run out of time too soon.
Also, I really don't want to go through any more of the aging process. I don't want wrinkles and age spots or gray hair emo

I think Immortality is different from Eternal Youth. I mind Eternal Youth a lot less than Immortality.

Sanzo, Sanzo, Sanzo, now how do we know that? THere could be life, but maybe it's in a range of spectrums besides what we can see. And someone could very well be a scientist here, you never know. I myself am thinking about genetics.

Immortality is overrated.

That is answered quite easily. Think to the smallest particle you can imagine, back to the farthest reaches of space-time. Where did it come from? And where did those particles come from? And so on, and so on. No matter what you think, there are countless microcosms that we can't scientifically explain the creations of. It stands to reason, then, that some form of higher power (a god, or God, in this case) exists, and generated these particles.
A better question would be where did God come from? Is he the "unmoved mover" that philosophers have been hunting for? Or is/are he/she/it/they just one more stop on the chain?
And as for eternal youth, I don't quite get the point. You stay looking young until you die. Whoop-dee-frickin'-do. I do not look particularly attractive in my youth, so I'm hoping that the tempering of age will perhaps make me a bit more presentable to the public eye.

Erv, just because you can't explain something doesn't mean it's magic...or god. I'm not saying there can't be a god but, to claim that ignorance is proof of one....well, that's...silly to me.

I like the whole Tao thought of creation.

Things come from nothing. :3 C'est tout.

Well, if that worked, Lin, then the debunking of spontaneous generation wouldn't have thrown such a wrench into the works.
And I made no mention of magic. I think it's a crock, to be honest.
And to be honest, this is more in lines with my thoughts, Ala.

@Blu Look I will give you that there might be life on Io, I do NOT give in that they would be sentient beings because if they were they would've eventually built homes or something where we could see proof of their life. We haven't, therefore they are not that advanced. You're right, someone could be a scientist here but that doesn't mean we're going to find the answer HERE but in a lab somewhere or somewhere where they can perform the tests not discussing it with a bunch of guild members. And thinking about going into genetics does not make you a scientist either, it makes you a potential scientist a long way down the road. And don't you dare be condascending to me.

Hahhahhah... It's not as literal as that, Ervie. Unfortunately translation from Chinese to English adds a few holes. XD

Why does existential discussion seem to always end going in circles? Oh, right. Because there is no definite answer. For all we know, we are brains in jars...

Hehheh... I like seeing the circularness of it. But there's a lot of humor in the nothingness. It's very subtle though, and probably only for the Tao geeks. But ask any Taoist to explain what the Tao is and they can't. I can't. Nobody can. XD
