Julia and Erica both nodded at her at the same time at her statement. The three quickly nagivated through town leaving it behind in their tracks as they followed a series of bridges that lead to the floodplains. The governor's house was situated directly in the middle of the northern floodplain, far outside from the town but still in viewable range but only on the best of days.

The two girls entered the house first and were instantly greeted by maids that had towels and other oddities to dry off and get warm with. Gwen was close on their heels, trying her best not to fall into the raging water below and around the bridges she walked on that only picked up in speed as they left town. She was immediately greeted by young blonde maid that handed her towel, removed her coat and shoes, then gave her a nice warm cup of hot cocoa before darting out of the room.

A large, circling staircase was before the three and at the top was a taller, older gentlemen. He was placing various old books in the shelves that aline the wall next to the top most part of the stairs. "Father," called Julia. Erica finished, "We have a guest that Relena sent." Two more books were placed on the shelves before the rest were given to a maid before the man turned and looked down at Gwen from stairs railing.

"Well now," started Sebastian with a warm fatherly smile given to her, "a bit young to be involved in this part of the world and traveling alone...hm?" He began to walked down the stairs as Julia spoke, "She is a rider." "Her partner is in the underground tunnels now and should be soon at the second entrance in our basement below us," said Erica immediately afterwards. Both woman were talking as one, showing just how close they were. Many could mistake them for being twins if they didn't look or act so differently.

At the mentioning of the words "Rider" and "Partner" the maids and other servants suddenly darted off to anywhere but that specific room that the four occupied. Leaving the four alone and in private. "A young dragon rider," said Sebastian as he reached Gwen and bowed before her, "I am honor to meet you my dear. Our home is your and your partners home for as long as you both need it to be."

Around town there were flyers put up walls for a special morning discount at the local resturant. The people clammered about the breakfest special. The flyers said "Mad Max Monday Morning Special! 6:30am- 10:30am at Sinclair's." one of the flyers peeled off a wall and was carried away by the wind.

"Thank you Sir," Gwen said as she bowed in return. As she came up, she remembered the letter and reached to get it out of her bag. "Mistress Relena wanted me to give you something. Now where did I put it?" she told him as she dug threw her bag. "Here it is," she stated as she pulled out a white envelop and handed it to Sebastian.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 23, 2009 8:40 am

Sebastian looked at the white envelope for a second, oddly, before taking it with a smile. He turned slightly so that his right side was facing Gwen as he opened the letter and began to read what it had to say. A serious look of deep thought began to cross his face as he read. Once finished, like a switched had been flipped, Sebastion brighten and turned to Gwen smiling at her once again.

"It would appear that you will be saying with us for sometime," said Sebastion as he handed the letter to his two daughters to read. Each woman went through the same expression as he had as Sebastian clapped his hand together cheerily. "Well you must be starving," exclaimed Sebastian, "I have heard of this wonderful local resturant in town, suppose to have a special this morning... Sadly, I haven't gone to it due to...other things taking up my time. However, I am now free...why don't we go and give it a test drive? Hm...?"

Sebastian was already grabbing his coat. He also grabbed a smaller one for Gwen and handed to her, "My daughter's smaller coat that doesn't fit her anymore. For the mean time it should be a good fit and a better rain coat than what you had before."

Erica walked up to Gwen as her father went off to talk with the staff for second, "Don't worry, your partner will be taken care while we are gone by our staff. She is already having a grand meal prepared for her." Julia was behind Gwen, helping her into the smaller raincoat. Even so, it still came down to Gwen calves, and looked a bit baggier around her waist. Still it was made of top-notched material and was warm as could be.

Gwen saw all of their faces, wondering what the letter had said. "Indeed, I've had a long journey. And thank you, again, for letting me stay here," Gwen said at the mention of food. After putting on the coat that was handed to her, with some help from Julia, she was ready to go back out into the rain.

At the resturant Sinclair's, people sat down at their tables while other waited to be seated. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, and more breakfast standards were being ran out from the kitchen by a team of hustling servers. Occasionally plates would came flying out of the kitchen window to be caught in midflight by the servers. Nerwcomers to the establishment thought it to be a kind of performance and clapped at the servers' good catch. But long-time patrons of Sinclair's knew that it was no act. Just the usual mayhem that occured every monday morning. Bespite knowing the chaos that occured on a weekly basis, two things kept the customers coming back for more week after week. First was the reasonable monday special prices, and more importantly was the delicious food. For as long as anyone could remember, the Sinclair family had been synonymous with the highest quality food known in the country. The Sinclair line had several centuries of resturants all across Farthen-Dur. Nearly every city had a Sinclair's resturant. While the prices for the food were usually a bit expensive, the quality of the food made it worth it. A couple walked out of the resturant patting their stomaches. "I can't believe how good those blueberry pancakes tasted." "Pancakes?! Ha! You should have tasted the pepper lemon omlet. I couldn't stop eatting it... and I hate peppers!" "Then why'd you order it?" "There's no point in talking to you any more." The couple walked down the road.

Sebastian looked at the couple that had just left, listening to their conversation intently. "Okay, I offically know what I am having!"

Julia and Erica hustled Gwen inside from the pounding rain that suddenly picked up, quickly sheading themselves of their shocked raincoats, before finding a spot close to the kitchen to see if they could see the show better. Sebastian pulled out a chair politely for Gwen to sit in before taking his own seat. Menu's were given, Sebastian decline knowing his choice, out to them shortly after with some water to drink.

"Be back in a minute honey's for your order," chime the waitress cheerily as she bounded off towards the kitchen.

As Erica looked at the menu her eyebrow immediately shot up, "Is half of this stuff even edible??" Julia elbowed her in the side fearing the chief might have a word with them if heard. "What...come on, a soy and meat omlet!?" "Ssh," said Julia, "This place is known for its interesting dishes, beside you heard all the compliments on this place. It is the best in town..." "...and the only one not soaked with an apparent need of anger management for the chief," ended Erica as she flipped her menu up infront her face to dodge her father unapproving look towards her.

Sebastian turned to Gwen slightly, "Order what and as much as you like, I am playing. If think of anything your partner might like, I am sure I can get the chief to kindly let us do take out!" With that he looked up and forward and watched the show of flying dishes and other oddities. Amazing that anyone could catch anything thrown of the kitchen.

((Now is Ryu...your original character from before the jump)(time still around Ocarina...or is it a new person entirely? Details please! mrgreen Just need to know if I need to bring up Relena in the coversation.))

((new character, Ryu is long since dead. 500 years is a long time, even for someone who is part elf. But Max is a direct decendent of Ryu. In short, he is a new character all together, but the Sinclair blood line runs deep and its history is well documented. wink ))
One of the waiters dashed over to the table and leaned in to whisper to Erica. "Ma'am, please don't speak ill of the Max or the dishes he makes. Especially THIS close to the kitchen. Bespite all the noise back there, mister Max has a remarkable sense of hearing to go with his sense of taste. Please don't say anything to anger him." The waiter was about to leave before spinning around and leaving one last warning. "And whatever you do, do NOT adress him by his full name. He's not to happy with the title his parents gave him."
A large man walked into the resturant and shouted, "Hey is this the place where I can get some grub some that Mad Max guy?" Half the resturant fell dead silent as a fork came sailing out the window of the kitchen and embedded itself intot he wall inches from the newcomers head on the other side of the resturant. The man was given a coupon and asked to leave. The regular patrons continued eatting like nothing had happened. The others took a clue from them and returned to eatting their meals. The waitress returned with waters for everyone and asked for their orders.

((Okay...is he going to have any connect with Relena as Ryu did?))

Erica, one that was not easily moved by fear, arched an eyebrow the waitress that left after she delivered the warning. "Mad Max, or Max Sinclair...," spoke Erica, questioning which one was actually the chief's real name aloud. She would be damn if some male, old or not, was going to pushed her around and it had nothing to do with the fact that she was governor daughter. No one barked orders or made her rollover!

Sebastian and Julia looked from Erica to themselves. They knew that look that was forming on her face. Both sighed greatly before Sebastion looked up to waitress that had come to take their orders. If they didn't leave, either Erica or the Chief would be in hostipal for the remainered of the flood season and Sebastian was sure it would be the Chief. So much for breakfast, they would have to slight for his cooking most likely since Julia had other matters to attend too now.

"Hello," said Sebastion quietly as he motion for the young woman to lean over to him as he went to a whisper, "I don't suppose this place has to-go. Oh and what is the fast way to get out of here from this table...?"

Julia looked up to see the waitress dumbfounded look and quickly spoke up, "Um...we are just busy. Um...um...governor stuff that suddenly came up! I can come back and pick it up later once we give you our order...when it is finished of course. So father, order and I will get the coats!" Julia exited the table to grab their coats at the entrance, hurring back because by now, Erica had "I am about ready to strike a challenge with a certain chief".

It was too late as Erica spoke, looking at the waitress, "I wish to see your chief...now!"

Her father and sister shoulders slumped as they leaned back in their chairs with sighs. Both of them pulled Gwen chair away from Erica, towards them, leaving Erica with half the table to herself.

...Here they went!
PostPosted: Wed Jul 29, 2009 9:15 am

A fork suddenly appeared sticking out of the edge of the table by Erica. The prongs of the fork were completely embedded in the wood. All the noise in the kitchen stopped. The chopping, the the sizzling, and the plates clanging, everything stopped. "Oh crap." The waiters all radiated away from Erica's table. "You want to see me? Fine!" The curtains covering the entrance tot he kitchen flung open as a boy standing four and half feet tall stormed out of the kitchen. "What the hell do you want?!" Half the resturant nearly fell out of their chairs upon seeing the half-pint cook.

One of the bigger customers marched over to him and said, "This whole time I've been afraid of this little kid? You got alot of nerve acting so bad-a**." Max lunged at the man and punched him in the gut. As him kneeled over in pain, Max hopped back before jumping up and kicking him in the face. "I may have alot of nerve, but you now have a bloody nose. Now get the hell out of my restuarant!" The man stood up and beared his fists only to see the mini-sized chief pull out a large carving knife from seemingly out of nowhere. "I don't think I made myself clear. I said get out now." The man turned pale and left the resturant. "Now, who still has a problem with me cooking their food?!" Max screamed at the top of his lungs.

"Maaad Maaax Sinclaaiiirrr!" The whole resturant shook as a deep voice boomed from upstairs. "Oh crap oh crap oh crap." Max's eyes shrunk and he began to sweat. A door in the back swung open and a large burly man standing over 6 feet 5 inches marched through the door. His large frame loomed over Max's tiny body. "Maximus Ryuu Sinclair. How many times do we have to do this?" The boy fell to his hands and knees and bowed to the large man. "Sorry Father, I just-" "No excuses. I agreed to let you serve ever monday morning in order to build your experience in the family business, not so you could pick fights whenever you heard something you didn't like."

The large man grabbed Max by the neck of his shirt and carried him over to the table witht eh fork sticking out. "Apologize now." Max glared at Erica for a moment before finally sighing and let go of his ego. "I'm sorry Ma'am. Please let me make it up to you by making your meal on the house." The father set the boy on the floor and let go. Max scurried back into the kitchen like a scared mouse.

"Please forgive my boy, he has a been of a Nepolian complex and hates his title of 'mad' Max, but you can see why I named him such. He's really a good kid and a great cook, but he's temper is just a little unruley. It only got worse after his mother died. But don't worry, I'll put him in the freezer to let him cool off after his shift is over." The giant man looked back at Max peeking out from the window only to catch his dad's gaze and returned to cooking.

Unnoticed to the older gentleman, father of the young boy, did Sebastian and Julia slide away from the table, taking Gwen with them. They were so not going to get involved in this matter or situation and they were giving some distance. Sebastian knew what Erica was capable off and how she got in these types of situation, there was no stopping her. It was a time where even a father had to bit his ego and pride and simply let things slide because despite his disapproval, he couldn't stop this until Erica stopped herself. Even Julia's....persausion....skills couldn't help, but maybe later they could.

Erica stared at the man for a solid minute before slowly standing up, scooting her chair to her left side making it face the kitchen entrance as she did. The whole time her head was down, hiding her face with her thick black bangs. She walked around the table partly to the giant man, appearing carefree to those that didn't know her all that well. Time slowed as she lifted her head and stared directly at the giant's eyes before her, her eyes sharp and threatening. "I believe I said, I wanted to see the chief ,...not you, not a waitress,...the chief...," spoke Erica in a soft melody to the giant man that could easily have been mistaken for friendly as she pressed her index finger down on the table to draw his attention there, "I want to see him now....!" Everything about Erica, her stance, eyes, voice...meant business and seriousness. She was not someone that was going to back down, nor was she afraid of someone that was much taller than her. She also someone that could easily own up to what she said.

"Just for your information, I am technically the chief. Max only works on monday mornings. But if you wish to see him, you know where he is. Go see him yourself." The large man motioned his head at the kitchen. "If you have to do it , then go do it. Nobody's gonna try to stop you." The giant shot the wait staff a look as if you say 'understand?' to them. The staff nodded their heads and returned to making their table rounds. The large man watched as the girl marched to the kitchen with her head held high.
The giant sat down near Sebastian and Julia and sighed. "Kids. You try your best to protect them and instill in the knowledge and qualities to make them ready to grow into responsible and ethical adults, but in the end the kids will do as they please reguardless." The large man sighed again before turning around and facing the governer and his daughters. "I am so sorry for this. Please don't misjudge this place because of my son's unruly behavior. He really is really a sweet kid but... he inherented his hot-headedness from his ancestor from long long ago. Oh, but where are MY manners. Hello, I'm Sid Sinclair." The man extended his hand with a warm smile.

((Wife....*falls down*...um Julia and Erica is his daughters, and Gwen is Brisingers character...))

Sebastian chuckled nerviously at Sid response, "Well, your son may be hot-headed as you say, but Erica...well...is different. She is not someone to put up a road block around when she takes on that personality and determination." Julia merely nodded her head absentmindedly as she craned her next to see inside the kitchen door that was cracked open, "Uh..huh..."

The governor took Sid hand and shook it firmly, "It is nice to meet you and I take no offense at all. Believe me when I say this, you son doesn't put a dent in this old armor compared to what it has been up against before. Oh, Sebastian is the name..." Sid had no clue just what the governor family had been through and what Sebastian meant about his daughter Erica. Julia was the kind and gentle one with a loving personality, Erica was the opposite but she too has her own kind of gentle and friendly personality. It was just something you didn't notice without having it pointed out. He was sure things would probably go flying in the kitchen before Erica put a stop to it and left the poor boy in a very shocked state of mind.

Erica walked into the kitchen and spotted the boy, "I believe I asked to see you. Now what to call you, Chief is getting old." Her arms were crossed over her chest as she leaned on her left hip, staring down her nose at the boy with narrowed eyes
PostPosted: Thu Jul 30, 2009 11:03 am

((Opps, I must have misread something. Pretend I didn't say that. sweatdrop )
The boy continued to cook several orders at the smae time. Without bothering to look back at Erica he said, "Max. My name is Max." The boy cracked open two eggs onto a skillet with one hand and flipped flapjacks in a pan with the other hand. The eggs slid out of the shells onto the hot surface off the skillet as Max threw the shells away while still flipping flapjacks. He kicked the wall and a plate slid off of a rollerboard and onto the counter next to Max. Max flung the flapjacks onto the plate and put the skillet down as he flipped the eggs over. Using his foot, he lift kicked a cantelope up in the air and caught it with his free hand. after turnning the eggs the boy sidestepped to the right and pulled out a large knife and sliced up the melon quick as a flash. He set two pieces on the plate with the flapjacks and placed a tiny square of butter on top before flinging the plate of food out the window like a frisbee. "Whadda ya what?" Max asked as he slid the eggs onto another plate and begin chopping onions.
