"I know," she grinned at him. Then her smile fell slightly, as she saw a blue haired boy walking through the crowd. It reminded her of the conversation in the library. She looked back at Chris. "Hey Chris? Can I ask you something?"

Chris had dug another cookie out of his bag and was munching it down. He gulped loudly, looking over at where she had glanced before replying. "Yeah? Is there something wrong?"

"Antony was talking weird to me, about our arms bands," she admitted, moving her sleeve slightly and showing off the gold band. "He was asking all kinds of questions about them, because Mira and I wear them all the time."

He hesitated, then looked around before sitting down. "Look," he said, motioning for her to sit with him. "There's a lot of bad things I could probably say about Antony. He's too pretty, for one, he probably has a closet full of designer shampoos for another, and he's got at least three girlfriends, as far as I can tell."
Then he stopped, trying to come up with a way to put it. "I can't see auras, or whatever it is that he sees. I'm about as spiritually blind as a rock, and I like it that way, but I believe in them. It's part of being a good catholic boy, ya'know? Even if you don't see something doesn't mean it ain't there."

Rhye gave him 'that look' that her mom gave, when she and Kash were caught with a broken cookie jar in the middle of the night. This meant he'd better explain it better than that. "They aren't bad," she told him seriously.

"What I'm tryin' to say--" he started out, ignoring her interruption, "is that I don't see things, but Antony does. It's part of his--his abilities. I break stuff, he sees stuff. You can see if happen if you watch him enough, his eyes focus on something that's not there and his jaw tightens. And if he can see stuff he might have a reason for worrying about stuff."

She tilted her head in consideration, frowning as she did. "So, you don't know why he did either?" she asked, though it was obvious. She sighed again, rubbing her arm bracelet. "But.... I didn't like how he was asking me. Making it sound evil or something."

"You don't gotta be evil to be dangerous," he told her bluntly. "I mean, look at me, I ain't evil, am I?" He snorted, shaking his head. "There's lots of things that are dangerous, but not evil. You gotta think about that fact. And he said yours and your sister's were different, right?"

Rhye looked both shocked and a bit hurt that he thought she even considered him evil or dangerous! Sure he looked bad, but he wasn't, once you talked to him. But before she could saw that, he asked her about them. "Well, yes.... Her's is darker, black-gold like," she said.
What she wasn't going to tell others was that when you forgot them someplace, they showed up. This was something she had noticed, too.

He caught that look. "I'm dangerous," he told her, sounding so sure of the fact that it was hard to disbelieve him. "Here, I'll show you. Step onto my hand."
He held out one hand, looking for all the world as if he was asking for her to shake his hand like a puppy.

She just blinked at him, then got up, and delicately stepped onto his hand. Then she looked up, as if this would hurt him. He was strong, but then, she didn't know just how strong he was.

He raised her up, easily and smoothly as if she weighed no more than a feather. "I'm going to toss you up a few feet, but don't worry, I'll catch you," he told her before his wrist jerked to toss her into the air.
His hands were waiting to catch her as she came down.

She gave a startled sound at this, half curling into a ball with her tail wrapped around her. THat made her an easy catch on the way back down. Then she grinned at him once he caught her, snickering. "Do it again?" she asked.
She was distracted from the lesson in this and she knew it. "But yes, I get it, you're nice, but you can also be dangerous."

"See this earring?" he asked, pointing at the golden chain. "It makes me so I can only lift twice my own weight instead of ten times," he told her. "I can break steel, lift cars, and all sorts of other dangerous and destructive things without even trying without it. You've known me since you were a baby, right?"
