Kria nodded, "I've not run into any of the settlements as of yet," She looked at Makki with that scrutinizing eye again, "Do you know of any? Or have you heard rumors of what direction they might be in?" She was nothing if not resourceful when it came to getting information. Being a cute puppy, most simply felt she wouldn't understand what they talked about. The squirrels had made that error and shown her their weak point, which she exploited a little to get important information.

Makki's tail twitched back and forth a little. She had heard a little about where humans resided, and this little girl was interesting. "I know humans used to be in the north. But if I'm not mistaken, they aren't there any more." She started pacing. "You really want to know what I know about them, hmm?"

Kria's ears twitched, that sounded like the start of something, stand up on all four paws her own tail wagged a little, "Yes, I do." The tone she spoke with was meant to inform Makki that anything she was thinking, this little pup would be more than capable of handling. At least that's what she thought, if it was the truth, who knew, but belief got one farther than anything else.

Makki pawed at her face a moment, thinking of all she knew. What was it...
"If memory served, some humans have a laser eye, and they can shoot shiny rocks that can kill you in one strike. Though that sounds far fetched to me. Oh! They have removable pelts, AND they can alter their scents. And being 2 legged, they're reeeeeeeeeeally tall, like trees! Though maybe not that tall."

Kria took all the information in and sorted it out, some of what Makki said she had heard from the squirrels as well as some of the other animals, especially the tall part. Her nose scrunched a bit, "What's a lay-zer?" She pronounced it a little more, trying to think on what it could be. Shiny rocks, okay, but laser? That sounded like a made up word.

"Honestly, I have no idea. I heard it from a mouse, that got it from... Well, a really long line of other guys. I bet it's wrong. But whatever." She shook her head. "But they have other things, like... metal shells they roll around in. I'm not sure what good that does them. I think it would look ridiculous." She thought a moment more, wondering what else there was that they had that she could remember.

"Mice hardly ever know much of anything good. And they get worked up about cheese." Kria snorted. Her information mostly came from squirrels because she was crafty enough to catch them. Bunnies weren't too good for info, they only knew about the gardens and things like that. She stretched the scratched at her ear, falling over a little. "Humans seem to have a different appearance depending on the animal you speak with, so, if I can find a good location for them, I'm going to investigate myself."

"You will have much traveling then. I imagine they would live in the south, or the east. I believe they liked more temperate climates then the cold of the north, and the heat of the west. But I could be wrong. But with their lack of real fur, it wouldn't surprise me. They can't regulate their heat like we can." She watched as the girl flopped over some. "We all have different perspectives on things. "Ask a raccoon how they see the trees. It's different then the rabbits and the bears."

She stretched again, "Not like it's too hard to travel around. And to find one as a pet, that'll be a great triumph amongst our kind." She snorted, "That's why I like the squirrels, though sometimes their information is a little...off the mark, most times, they give good direction." She nipped at her shoulder as it began to itch a little. "Well, I live south...though perhaps I didn't travel far enough that way." It was a contemplative statement, this pup was definitively planning more than just a couple of things to become a legend, she wanted far more than that.

Makki gave a faint snort. She trusted squirrels only a little more then she trusted butterflies- which was not at all. "Well, maybe going to the east would be the first step. If you came from the south, east seems more logical." She pondered a little. She needed to get out and around. "If you're heading that way, I might just tag along. It would be good to observe packs everywhere to see how they interact, so I know how to handle my own when I have one." She said defiantly. She would have one.

East, she had been traveling north looking for human encampments, or villages as the squirrels called them, finding nothing but a few relics. A pack was all Makki seemed to be focused on, nothing greater than that. Packs are fine and good for normal Helix's, but for me...I want far more than that. To most it seemed as though she was greedy, but in her mind it was the best way to prove to everyone that even one little helix pup could do anything, if they only set their mind to it.
Kria looked at the older helix measuringly, once again scrutinizing her in manners most pups wouldn't be able to. "Alright, east then. And you're free to follow if you can keep up." It was a cheeky retort, as she popped up onto her legs and stretched a little, her tail flicking in the air.

Makki couldn't resist. "Yeah? Well, if you get tired, I'm not going to carry you. I'll leave you behind." She flicked her tail to punctuate her point. "So, when are you planning on leaving?"

Kria glanced up at the sky and took a few moments. Her ears twitched as she calculated and thought.
"I would say it's only an hour before dark sets in, I've got a stash of food in a cave not too far from here, I'd say rest and leave just before or a little after dawn." With that she started walking back into the line of trees, "You're welcome to come along if you don't want to freeze your tail off." She almost snickered as she trailed along, lazily walking back to where she'd made a make shift den.

"Heh, or you can come to my den, either way, it doesn't matter to me." She said, walking a little, her hips swaying as she moved. "I'm going to go catch my meal, since I much prefer fresh food to day old leftovers. Need anything?"

Her tail flicked, "Some fresh rabbit if you would be so kind." She wasn't going to inform Makki that she also ate fruits, which is what she'd stocked up on the day before. Rotted meats were gross at best and utterly disgusting at worst. Kria had found out that unlike several other animals, she couldn't stomach a kill older than a few hours... and even that was pushing it for her. She walked off in the direction of her makeshift den and smirked, "Bring some carrots and I'll make a stew!" She was joking of course, it was difficult to do something like that, even for one who had such high hopes for their future.
