It had been so unexpected, Leboya's fur had actually prickled a little bit, as to prevent a jump of any sort, instead prompting a look over her shoulder and a curious expression on her face to see what had just happened.
.......
Oh, well that was certainly nice and convenient, she'd think, just smiling and allowing it without a fuss of 'why are you doing that' or anything similar.
In fact, it was oddly endearing to her motherly senses. Lebby's MOTHER SENSES were tingling!
However, it made walking much easier, she found, to have him just lead along like he was currently, making easy stride through the low grasses until she came to the place she'd been seeking. It wasn't much, as dens went, just a nicely and conveniently formed pile of rocks, but it would do for cover and space for sleeping.
Now.. did she go in first or did she let her ward go in first? Her mother instinct just put her in wait by the mouth of the formation, giving Tipwa a look.

Tipwa had followed Leboya obediently, not once deviating. Oh sure, he looked around now and then, tugging her tail slightly as he moved his head, but whenever he felt there was too much distance between him and her, he padded along until everything was honky-dory again.
And then they slowed as Leboya had returned to the den she had in mind. He stood and stared at it for a moment, like any child might survey a new bedroom. And then with the same gentleness as before, he leaned his greatt head down and released her tail, even giving it a polite lick to straighten any stray strands.
He approached the den cautiously, then stopped a few paces shy of the entrance and looked at Leboya. Seeing her kind face, he chewed his lip a little and then entered. Bizarrely, it was like he had no sense of his own size and despite the den being ample, he still crouched down a bit and sort of shuffled in and then shuffled about inside as well.
"Its nice."

She waited inside the mouth of the den and watched him as he went about sizing up the 'new bedroom' and shuffling about it, stepping in herself and waiting until he had approved before taking up a spot next to him stretching her legs out before she'd settled herself and resting her head on her outstretched front legs.
"It will serve us nicely for the night. Tomorrow we will have to find a new one..."
and who knew if her own foresight would even tempt her seerly senses into such a thing. But things would turn out the way they needed to. All it would take is a careful gauging of letting Marty know where it was she was going (and allowing her daughter to follow along if she so wished) so the girl wouldn't go into a state of 'ABANDONED' on her.
Otherwise, it would be a simple task.
"Now, get some sleep and in the morning we'll stop at a water hole," a logical step in the day before it got too hot out and before a lot of travelling, "we'll be walking for some time, so the more sleep you get the sooner we can get there..."
An odd statement, but the well rested walked longer.

"Okay," he said, nodding his head and fidgeting just a little, like an excited child before bed. If he had been human, this would be the moment he sucked his thumb.
Tipwa was relatively easy to settle after a while, but was used to curling up beside his mother. He looked at Lebby questionably, wondering what to do. She wasn't mum but she was a friendly lion. His eyes wandered all around the parts of the den he could see, mulling his options over.
This time, he'd be a good boy and stay still. He shuffled just a little bit more, closer to Leboya, and likewise rested his head on his fore-paws.
"Night night Lebby," he said, just as he shut his eyes.
