"Well I don't see anything yet.." Aran said while checking his surroundings, and possibly for an ambush. So far he'd only fought the Mauthe Doogs and the Mogalls, but Amelia said there were much more than just those.

A sinister presence appeared in the forest, his cloak dragging over the snow and leaving no trace behind him. A sneer flitted across his wrinkled face as he strode quickly over the snow, between the trees, still unseen by the naked or even most trained of eyes. "Daughters of scale and stone, arise to take, beasts of plague and famine, drive forth, hunter gods of the plains, attack," he whispered, reaching down to scoop a handful of snow into his bare, gnarled hands.

A howl shot up as a pack of six Mauthe Doogs rushed out of the woods, their tongues hanging out at the thought of a fresh, hot meal while they dashed over the snow toward the wood-gathering party. Their sharp teeth and claws were at the ready to rend and tear into flesh and snap bone as they ran straight at the party.

From behind the group went up a battle cry as a small herd of mighty Tarvos thundered through the snow, their varied axes raised above their heads as they rushed out to meet these humans who had invaded their territory, with every intent of slaughtering each of them and taking their heads as prizes.

And worst of all was the dull glowing spots beneath the snow just inside the forest. They grew slowly, until a red claw suddenly breached the surface, and all around them Gorgons rose out of the snow, screeching their cries of hatred and loathing, grinning cruel, sharp-toothed grins as they hissed, glaring at the humans.

(I'm sometimes reffered to as "an inhuman monster". So you still like me, right?)

Melethia saw the Gorgans come out from snow. "Fire in the the hole!" With the tome strapped her back, she started casting Elfire spells. She's used it mutliple times so she knew the spell for the tome. "Take that you Medusa wannabes!" She yelled at the Gorgans.

"Foolish dark magic users." Victoria drew out her lightning tome, whipping out a spell. "You could never match me!"

Sue aimed carefully at a Tarvos, using her short bow for more accuracy. "Let's finish this quickly."

Victoria took notice of her allies fighting around her... and held out a staff with a ruby jewel attached to the top. "Fortify!" For a moment, healing spread all around them, and then she once again pulled out her lightning tome, prepared to use it double on yet another Gorgon if it managed to get to her.

Sue all the while slung her bow over her shoulder, drawing out the infamous Killing Edge. She was much faster with it in her hands, and she wasn't defenseless if the Tavros got too close. She rode by, stabbing one of their necks swiftly. What she didn't know was right behind her, one of the Tavros had a swordslayer...

When the nomad turned around to unleash more attacks, she saw the axe blade come down and knock the killing edge right from her hand, not to mention snapping it in two. Her eyes widened as the axe rose once again, this time as a means to finish her off.

"Thanks, that was close..." the nomad said, while drawing out her short bow and keeping herself at a distance. "Now... who will be my target...?"

Victoria kept watch for reinforcements, but so far, there were none.
