"Very full of life," Angavu agreed with a quiet laugh, "There are well over a hundred lions here, don't be too alarmed if you spot any. It's surprising we haven't seen anybody else so far. Though you shouldn't worry too much about being approached unless you find your way into the central lands by Pride Rock or the waterhole."
"It is nice living here, I know there's a lot to see and learn outside of here but I think I'm quite content where I am," she said with a shrug, "For now, anyway."

His eyes widened in disbelief. "Over one hundred? What an army! My own pride held no more than thirty. We were a small and secluded bunch. I can't imagine being part of a pride so large. You must have your work cut out for you, hunting for all of those hungry mouths."
He smiled.
"It's odd how other prides are so different. They are all so varied all so..." He couldnt find the word for it. "Females in my pride were rare, they were treasured by the rest of us. I had my eye on one, a golden female I adored. At that time she was the most beautiful creature I ever laid eyes on. Though, I must say, you have a gleam about you that she never had."
He chuckled. "Listen to me now, trying my luck at charming you. I should be ashamed. Ignore my foolish words, except for the part about you being beautiful. For you truly are."
He looked up for any sign of a den, trying to remember his way back to the waterhole so he could drink before taking his leave.

"Yes, but there are so many of us and most of us are hunters so it rather balances out. You try to take care of your own and help with those who need it," she said brightly, and she nodded along with his commentary on other prides. After all, she considered herself a friend to the pride of lions living in the Graveyard- at least, she'd met the queen there and been quite glad of it. That was certainly a whole other setting for a pride, Anga found it interesting but unbearable to imagine actually living there.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the compliment. She hadn't had that sort of attention on her before, and to her own surprise she found it rather enjoyable. Who didn't like compliments?
"Thank you," she said, smiling, "No harm in trying."

Beaming, he found himself settling into a more confident stride. He was beginning to realise that this place wasn't dangerous, that someone wasn't going to leap out and take him down for being in foriegn territory. Maybe it was Angavu's calm and friendly manner, in fact it probably was.
"I don't know how I am going to repay you for your kindness, Lady, truly you do not know how much you have helped me this day. I have nothing to give except..." A pause "well, nothing except my companionship." He chuckled. "Though that is nothing in comparison to what you have given me."

"We'll see about that," she said with a grin, not clarifying what she meant by 'that' and picking up the pace to a jog. They were almost to where she was leading him, and now she was in a rather cheerful mood and just.. felt like running.

Trusting that she would feel comfortable enough to ask if there was anything he could do to repay her, Altair followed her steps, quickening as the den came into view.
Suddenly, the travel, the lack of food and water, was getting to him. He wanted to lay down someplace where he felt safe.
With a purr, he uttered another thanks and strode towards his little haven - as temporary as it may be.
