She giggled. "So, you want to have a little swim first, before I try?" Tou padded over to the river, dipping her paw in.
"I'll splash about in the shallows ..."

He nodded, grinning. "I'll only be a moment!" He walked over to the river, carefully making sure where his paws were, and crouched on his haunches right next to it. He saluted Tou with a goofy grin, and fell over into the water. He swam down to the bottom of the river, watching the fish swim by and paddled around. Even though his skull was making him more weighted, he was doing better than he had thought he would... Apparently it was difficult to be very clumbsy while swimming. Diro came up to the surface and sticked his head out of the water. He could see Tou splashing around in the shallow part of the river, but it looked like she hadn't seen him... Grinning, Diro swam over quietly, always making sure that she couldn't see him. Then, when he was as close as he could get without her knowing, he playfully splashed some water at her with his paw. "Got 'cha," He said, his grin still wide on his face.

Tou shrieked so loud, all the little fish who had circles her swam off in a hurry. She gave a mishchevious grin, and at once splashed Di back in the face.
"Gotchya' too!"

Diro laughed and splashed Tou back, running away in the shallows to make sure she could't splash him back again. "I still splashed you first!"

She stared back. "Um, well ... second is better!" Tou giggled. "So, you going to teach me how to swim?"

"But of course. First off, we need to find a spot that comes at least to your neck... But you still have to be able to stand." Diro sloshed around in the river, looking for a place deep enough. Since he was about the same size of Tou, it was easy enough to see where the water was at the right level. After a while from looking, he turned to Tou. "Did you find one? There's none over here."

"U-up to m-my neck? That's really high!" But, as she trusted Di and knew he would help her, she waddled around in the water trying to find a deep enough patch. She was only in water up to her knees, when she took one step and dropped. "HELP! HELP! He- Oh no wait, it's only up to my .. neck! Yay, I found a patch!"

Diro, who had splashed over as quick as he could when Tou started yelling 'help', smiled. "Perfect! Now, using your front paws make circles with them underwater," He made the motion above the water so Tou could see, "... like that. But keep your hind paws on the bottom, and try not to move forward. Okay?" He floated next to her in slightly deeper water.

"Right, I'll try!" Tou did the circling motion under water, but didn't move. "Um, is something meant to happen?" she said as she stood there moving her paws.

Diro tiled his head a bit. "Not really... You just gotta get the motions right." He paddled around in a circle. "You'll be able to do this when you've got it." He smiled at Tou and stood next to her. "When you're nice and comphy with that, lift your legs up and start kicking. I'll make sure you don't sink or go forward too much."

"R-right, ok!" Tou continued moving her front paws for a while, and finally lifted one of her hind-legs. She found the courage to lift them both, and started kicking like mad. She shut her eyes tight, thinking she was going to sink. But - she stayed afloat!
"I'm swimming! I'm swimming Di! Look at me!"

"Great Tou! You're doing wonderfully!" Diro smiled at her. He sure did smile a lot more around Tou... He shoved that thought aside though and kept his focus on the now semi-swimming Tou. "Are you ready to start moving now?"
((*meeps* I'm gonna go play frizbee and tennis. My sister threatens me with death if I do not. xd ;;; So I should be back soon!))

She giggled frantically. She smiled alot more around Di too, but she wasn't sure if he noticed or not.
"Um, I think so! Is it hard, I mean, I don't want to skip steps ..."

"Don't worry. It's not hard at all! I'll be swimming beside you anyway, to make sure nothing bad happens, okay? If you feel like you're sinking try kicking and spinning your arms faster." He took his hold away from Tou's stomach, which he had there so she wouldn't move foreward, and swam right beside her.

Not noticing that Di's paw had been there, she blushed a tiny bit.
"U-u-um, ok" she replied, a little confused. Tou kicked her legs harder and moved her paws faster, hoping to move forward. In the end she did, but faster than she thought. This made Tou freak out a little, lose concentration and stop.
