Banji was the Grinch of womanizing. So sly and so slick, he thought up a lie and he thought it up quick. One right after another, never contradicting each other. When they risked it, just lie more. It was a horrible addiction he wouldn't feel bad about this time since if he didn't, he was lined up to get maimed. "Okay, it's not just that," he admitted, in a meek sort of way. "I love someone else."

That was something Lakisa hadn't seen coming.
The L word was pretty sacred. Not even Banji would misuse it, right? She stepped off him, still suspicious mind you, but not enough to continue almost killing him. Hesitantly, she glanced at Mto for some sign of agreement in the matter.

Mto was having the same trail of thought after all. She not only stepped off him, she took three more steps after that. Her eyes met Lakisa's and she nodded a silent yes to the silent question. Banji wasn't lying. She knew it...
