As the chirping sounded Mekah stopped in his washing of the object, he frowned and peered closer. It really did seem to be coming from his hands. How could that be? He held the charm up and almost dropped it back in the water as it began to transform. A head appeared, legs, wings. The chirping grew and grew and then as soon as it had started it dulled, in his hands sat a golden cricket. Mekah could do nothing but stare at it in shock. It stared back, watching him with similar curiosity. This, it was clear, was no ordinary bug.

"No," Covet sighed, continuing her search on the floor. As the chirping started up, she frowned a little in confusion and lifted her head. Turning a little towards the sound, she looked up at Mekah, about to ask if he heard it too, then realized he did by the look on his face. When he jumped a little, she pushed herself up to her feet to see what was wrong and blinked as she saw the little creature in his hands.
"What on earth? Where did that come from?" she asked softly, looking up at Mekah's surprised face.

Mekah stared at the creature, his eyes not moving even as she joined him. What an odd enchantment. He thought to himself. The creature gave a loud chirp and and stayed put. "It was the violin, it musht have been enchanted or something. I washed it and .... it turned into this."

Covet looked back down to the little insect in his hand and smirked a little as it chirped at them. When he explained, her brows lifted in surprise and she looked back up at him. "Truly?" she asked, stepping a little closer so she could get a better look at the little thing. "It's so tiny," she smiled, reaching out slowly and carefully, wanting to touch it to be sure that it was truly there. "You're going to keep it, right?" she asked softly.

Mekah turned slowly to look at her and raised an eyebrow. "Keep it? Where?" He asked, jumping a little as it crawled forwards on his hand. It was unique he would admit that but it was not really a pet. it belonged outside. "Scim will probably eat it. He's better off outside."

Covet laughed a little and rolled her eyes. "Are you serious? This creature manifests from an inanimate object and you're not the least bit curious to find out why?" she asked incredulously. "Besides, Scim won't eat it if you keep it safe," she smiled and turned her outstretched hand to provide the little creature a bridge as she rested it lightly against Mekah's warm skin. "You just need to find a small container for right now and make sure that it has holes in it for it to breathe," she smiled up at him.

Mekah watched it move and thought about that. She did have a point. "Well, I, I suppose a little research wouldn't hurt." he said, nodding a little.
The golden cricket cocked it's head to the side. Research, it was not sure it liked the sound of that. As new skin appeared he crawled over to the female's hand. A sense of warmth and friendliness coaxing him towards her. He chirruped happily.
Mekah watched the little thing and turned to walk to his box of tricks. The lid was a latice of ivory. He tipped the contents out and walked back over to Covet and the creature. "Here, this will do for now." He said, opening the lid.

Covet smiled as the little creature crawled onto her hand and she watched the way it moved carefully as she listened to Mekah move about. "You're kind of cute, aren't you?" she smiled softly to it, lifting the little thing up to her eye level and smiling warmly as she offered it a finger as a gesture of greeting. Looking up as Mekah returned, she looked down to the box and smirked a little.
"Here, you hold him for a moment," she said, offering the cricket back to its owner and reaching out to take the box. Walking over to her drawers, she knelt down and opened the bottom one, shifting through it until she found a bit of soft cloth. Folding it up, she set it in one side of the box and then rose to her feet to search out a small dish. Upending a small jeweled box she had picked up along her travels that was meant for carrying tablets and such within it, she put a little water in it and carefully set it on the opposite side of the small box. Setting the box down on the counter, she turned back to Mekah and smiled. "There. Much better. You're going to have to find out what it is he eats too," she mused, stepping out of the way so he could put the little creature inside the box.

Mekah smiled a little and watched with curiosity as she made her way around the small van upending her things. He watched the Cricket hop up his arm and smirked a little. They were really aquiring a zoo.
Cricket also watched with interest as the woman made him what was becoming a respectable home. Much more fitting than a plin wood box. He hopped off Mekah an inside the nice dark place, settling on the piece of silk and continuing to watch them carefully.
"Well now. home sweet home." Mekah turned to wander over to the book shelf. He was bound to have at least one book on insects.

Covet smiled as the strange little insect seemed to approve and settled in. "Seems like it," she smiled and noticed the chopstick she had been holding before the little cricket had been introduced. Remembering her mission, she picked it back up off the counter and turned a little. Walking over to where they kept the cooking supplies, she started to dig around again. She usually used them to put her hair up when she was cooking, maybe she had dropped the other one while she had been putting things away, she thought, shifting the pots and pans around.

Mekah ran his fingers over the old spines of the few books he had. He scavanged them of course. Taking from the lost and disguarded. Occasionlly buying when he had the money. "Here we are." He smiled, easig the smaller book of the shelf and starting to flick through the thin pages.

Covet's green eyes flickered over to her companion at his happy exclamation and turned to pull open a drawer where she kept her utensils. Shifting a few around, her lips broke into a bright smile as she found what it was she had been searching so hard for.
"Ah hah!" she exclaimed happily, picking the beautiul stick up out of the drawer and turning to face Mekah. "I found it!" she exclaimed, bouncing on her toes and bringing the two sticks together in her hand as she looked down at them lovingly. She was so, -so- happy she had found the lost chopstick.

As the chop stickes came together once again in Covet's hands, they stuck together. No pulling could have pulled them apart ever again. In fact, had one given the chopsticks human characteristics, one might have described them as grateful. There was a sudden light from the sticks, and when the light faded they were fused together. There was no longer a seam between them, and in fact there appeared to never have been one there in the first place... perhaps this was the case. Several seconds later, nigh on thirty, the sticks began to melt and bulge into a liquidy substance, flowing freely to the floor as if they no longer had a desire to be held... but instead of flopping to the floor in a puddle, they basicly fell into a particualr formation... a bear....a panda bear.

Covet blinked at the flash of light and then blinked several times more as she waited for her vision to clear. About to ask Mekah what had been the source of the light, she gasped as it felt as though the chopsticks had melted in her hands. Panic seized her as the melted chopsticks began to slip through her fingers and she tried to make an effort to catch them, but each time more slipped through her fingers until they gathered on the floor. Looking down as the bear took shape, she blinked and took a step back.
"Mekah..." she breathed in fear and awe as she stared at the adorable little creature that now looked up at her with seemingly sleepy eyes.

The light blurred Mekah's vision also, interrupting is reading and causiung him to look up at Covet. Was the world going mad? He thought, closing the book and placing it on the side as the chopsticks melted into a puddle.
When it became an animal, a bear he blinked and looked up at Covet. "What on earth?" He said softly, crouching down and reaching out slowly to touch it. The fur was soft and downy. "It's real." He breathed, looking back up at her and raising an eyebrow. "I hope this is not going to become a trend."
