Nice, stereotypical family conversation going on here. Chuckling, Antony fell into step beside his mate, her vehemence on the point of HIS comfort amusing in light of her current condition. And people said that kalona couldn't be good mates, how the two of them would shatter THAT stereotype!
Though he hated to rain on such loyal mately determination, he had to remark, "Honestly, Lessy, that one space is not any better or worse than many others in this region, I was just thinking of it because it's close. And admit it, you would feel bad if you drove another happy family out of their home, current comfort notwithstanding." He would be perfectly fine walking on indefinitely, although Loveless would likely need to travel in stages if such ended up being the case. "We'll find a cosy place, never fear, and in the meantime, we can walk and enjoy each other's company."
A fine way to spend a sunny day, indeed!

Yeah, she wasn't heartless. Her MOTHER was heartless. That one was pretty explanatory. So there was no reason to be a psycho and to ruin another family's fun. "Ok fine you win again." she remarked, while guiding her eyes back on the trail. As for enjoying each other's company, well, they were both professionals at doing that.
So to start up some conversation, she happily spoke out. "I wonder what you'd do if we got all girls or something. We could get three more Pascales or in the opposite, three more Lessias! Or three exact versions of mean me.." Oh boy. Something like that wouldn't bother her, but it'd probably entertain Antony for ages. "I've always been sort of tomboyish so all boys wouldn't bother me in the slightest either."
Loveless didn't have a preference, but she knew how funny it would be to have all uber fluffy children on the way. "Though I'd say we are pretty fluffy ourselves. So if we did end up with more fluff they'd fit in just fine with the rest of the crew." Seeing as that all grandparents and relatives were also full of fluffy goodness!

Winning was nice. He could do with winning.
Grinning, Tony draped a wing over his mate, tilting his head against hers as they walked alone. Not entirely oblivious to the nature of this sort of chit-chat, he nevertheless chimed in with all the enthusiasm one would hope for from a father-to-be. "Well, that's a good question. Personally, I think that we'd be more likely to get all boys...or actually, two boys and a girl. You had two brothers, I had a brother and a sister...it runs in our families, I would say. I mean, I know we had it the other way 'round the first time, but if I were a betting stallion, that's what I'd think. And you're not mean, you brat."
Giving her a light swat on the rump, Antony was all affection and good-humor; for now, at least, the moroseness of earlier was gone. "I think that regardless of what we end up with, though, the important thing is that was be the best parents we can. Our first three turned out pretty well, though, if I do say so myself." And he did, thankee kindly.

Antony's humor and confidence was enough to swoon his mate! Loveless was so preoccupied with the home-front thing that she wasn't even enjoying the happiness between the two of them. She could only chuckle from his high energy and snuggle next to him as she always did. "You know, I was a bit nervous of what you would say when I realized I was pregnant. A small part of me wondered if you were as ready as I was for more kids. But I am seriously stoked to see you felt the same way!" And hell, he was overjoyed! "I had no reason to worry." Just like always.
When he made the connection between their families, Loveless could only drop her mouth in somewhat of a disbelief. "Hugggh? I think it's all by random luck! These are our own genes now! And we are both spontaneous in nature, so I think the genders will be that way too!" Yeah! Well, it made sense to her at least! "But either way it will be adorable."
As if she an Antony were the experts on science. "We will be the best. We always were, always are." Now when it came to genes, she and Antony had quite the lineage to make sure THAT was true! "It will be great without a doubt!"

At Loveless' cheery assertion, Antony could only smile and shake his head. There was no use trying to reason with a nesting mother, indeed there wasn't; everything came back to fact that, no matter what, their kids would be amazing and perfect and wonderful and adorable. Well, they WERE, but that went without saying!
At any rate, there were more important things to think about at the moment. Their musings had brought the two of them along through the trees until Antony saw, to his delight, the aforementioned clearing. Even better, it was completely and totally empty, and showed no signs of recent Soquili habitation! Perfect!
Speeding up, he scuttled ahead of Loveless to give the whole space a once-over. Not so much a a single hoof print on the ground, or a bitten off berry sprig or anything! Grinning, her turned around and swept his mate a bright salute. "Well, what do you think?"

Loveless watched as Antony raced ahead of her, and for a moment she wondered what he was doing. But when she saw his expression and the area he stood by, she only waltzed in to examine it herself! The lighting was wonderful and the area felt bright and warm. She let her hooves stomp around in a little circle before stopping and facing Antony again.
"This place is great! No wonder you were so excited." she nuzzled him happily while turning to look around again. "It's got plenty of room, and although it was easy to find one still has to dig deep to run into it." She nodded then while considering the facts in front of her. "You know, I think it's rather perfect, just like you said!"
Now, the only thing they were missing were the 'troops', or the older kiddos. Next, they needed to new kids to enjoy it and use it as best they could! "See, that's why I like putting you in charge. You know what you are doing!" she winked at him while enjoying the sights of the area again. Yeah, things were already better and the plan could finally go in motion. That was definitely the best realization of all!

One of the nice things about being mated, if one were fortunate in their choice of mates, was the ability to think alike. Sure, it could be really annoying sometimes; after all, it made things hard to keep secret or to be upset or anything without the other one knowing about it. On the other hand, as far as Antony could figure there was no problem with that; it was nice not always having to explain himself to Loveless. Like now.
True, she had said that whatever was ok with him was ok with her, but he liked to see for himself. And hear for himself. But her reaction seemed to be a pretty positive indication that they were still of a like mind...perfect.
Returning her nuzzle with one equally enthusiastic, Antony gave his mate a nod of agreement. "Yes, I am pretty awesome when it comes to finding things, aren't I? So you can count on me to use those powers for good and find the kids!" Flexing a wing dramatically, he adopted his most solemn and actiony look before pausing, giving Loveless a scrutinizing look. "Do you think that you'll be ok without me, Lessy?"

If Loveless hadn't restrained herself she would have burst out laughing. She appreciated Antony's concern, but she was a big girl! {literally >>) But, all and all she had survived this sort of thing before. And pregnancy was not as shocking as it was the last time it hit her body. The pains or itches she felt were somewhat normal to her senses, and her legs weren't as wobbly as the last time she carried. "I will be just fine." she then answered, with a sigh of relief that she didn't explode or something.
"Have fun while you're gone!" she giggled somewhat and knew that Antony would be quick enough. As for her... she'd probably nap. The nice thing about being a Kalona was that only her family disturbed her from such sleeps. She could only imagine dozing off but being woken up, and opening her eyes to her family grouping! Only because that sort of thing had happened before. Oh how her life was predictable!

If the question were put to Antony, he'd likely say that even big girls could get grouchy or stiff or tired or hungry. As it didn't come up and he didn't get laughed at, though, he merely gave his mate a somewhat skeptical are-you-quite-sure look before grinning and ruffling his wings. "Alright then; you behave yourself, don't eat anything sentient, get plenty of sleep, and try not to have the babies before I get back."
No small order, that, when one considered that it was quite likely that he would be gone for days, possibly even a couple weeks. "If things end up taking too long I'll just send the ones that I HAVE found back and hunt the others down at a later, more convenient date." A good plan, if he did say so himself.
With that, he gave him mate a nuzzle, cautioning her by waving one wing in mock-sternness. "You behave yourself now, young lady..." Breaking off, he learned in and gave her a nuzzle, his voice becoming more tender as he finished, "Because I could never forgive myself if anything happened to you. Stay safe, Lessy."
