Max finished off his cookie and looked around in search for more. He spotted a plate for them on a stand beside the tree. Creeping over he also noticed a cup full of milk. Just as he was about to grab a cookie Ember spotted him.
"MAX! You touch those cookies and I'll wring your ears inside out!!! Those are for Santa!" She yelled at him, glaring. She had worked her tail off baking those and he wasn't about to ruin it.
Max flinched, caught red handed. "Awww, I was just going to have one..." He grumbled. He was hungry, he couldn't help it. He went back to his table and finished drinking his eggnog instead. He wasn't about to get Ember mad at him, the little girl had a temper to match her fire markings and he wasn't going to chance trying her patience.
Danny blushed a bit at the question. "I'm here to make a speech, too nervous for eating or dancing right now. Don't have a girl in mind, but maybe I'll ask one to dance with me later." He admitted. He wasn't much of a dancer like Max but he did want to share a dance with a girl sometime tonight. He hoped his santa hat would make him stand out of the crowd a little more. Maybe he would get noticed.
Ember looked back at Pika now that Santa's cookies weren't in danger of being eaten anymore. "Yeah, I made sure the janitor turned the heaters on ahead of time so it would be warm when the party started. I hate how cold it sometimes gets in here during the winter. I was determined to make sure the temperature was just right tonight. You'll love the food, I helped the cooks out so I got to see some of the things they were baking."

Ruari smirked. "How about my sister? What do you think of her Danny?"
Pika looked at Ember. "I would like to see what they were cooking."

Danny eyed darted about, searching for her pretty green eyes. "W-why? Is she here?" He asked nervously, his ears flattened against his head. He glanced back at Ruari to see if he was just teasing him or something.
Ember giggled and whispered in Pika's ear. "Okay but we got to be quiet when we look into the kitchen. The chief told me no visitors in the kitchen cause he doesn't want them to eat his goodies ahead of time." She told her, walking over to the kitchen doorway and opening the door just a bit. Inside you could see Furbys wearing aprons and cheif's hats moving about. There were tables full of food. One set of tables had dinner on it. Choice cuts of roost beef, turkey, or ham. Mashed potatoes, green beans, corn on the cob. Eggnog, milkshakes, and pop of all kinds, even milk. Scrambled eggs and gravy, beats, and other Holiday food choices. On another set of tables in the kitchen there were all kinds of deserts. Cake, a chocolate fountain with a variety a treats to dip in it. Donuts, cupcakes, muffins, candy of all sorts, icecream with stuff to make an ice cream sundae, hot cocoa, with marshmellows available to add to the drink. Enough food to feed everyone at the party when the speech was over.
Max got up, threw away his empty paper cup and stretched. Ahhh, he was feeling better now. The song ended and a new one began. One of his favorite Christmas carols! Not caring that he was the only one on the dance floor he began dancing. He wasn't shy at being stared at in the least and he grinned, having a good time. "Wahoooo!"

Pika took a wiff. "Oooooo~ Smells good."

"I don't know much about your sister. I haven't talked to her in a long time. Why isn't she here? Still getting all prettied up? As for Pika, she's nice. I know her a bit more than I do your sister." Danny told Ruari, ears relaxing again and going back up.
Ember closed the door before one of the cooks could see them peeking in and giggled. "Don't tell anybody what you saw. It's always good to surprise them! Keep them guessing until the last moment." She looked over at Max, Danny, Ruari, Yin, Toots, and Chaise. She didn't know them all, just remembered hearing their names around town. It was better they kept the secret to themselves.
Max went up to the two behind the stage, Danny and Ruari. "Hey guys, speech happening soon? I'm starving!" He announced. Danny shook his head no. "Not yet, everyone's got to find a seat first. There could be more guests coming too, you never know." He answered. "We were just talking about girls." He added in. "Oh really? Why, Ruari got a date? I know you don't have one Danny, your always too shy to go up and ask a girl!"
Danny shuffled his feet in embarrassment, blushing again. "Am not!" He retorted.

Ruari smirked and looked at Max then Danny. "Want me to hook you up with Pika?"
Pika nodded at Ember. "Yeah! Let's keep them guessing!"

Max started cheering. "Do it, do it, do it!" He looked over at Pika whispering with Ember across the room and gave Danny a playful shove in her direction. "Come on, it's about time someone helps you get a girl!"
Danny dug his feet into the stage floor, panicking. "I can't you guys! I'm not a good talker, or dancer, I'd just make a fool of myself. Besides, why in all of Furby Land would she want to hook up with me? I'm plain, ordinary and dull, she's....everything I'm not." He started backing up shyly, trying to hide behind the curtain.
"Are you gay?" Max asked suddenly. "Cause if you like guys better...well, we'd understand why you don't want a girl then..."
Danny gave him a murderous glare, if looks could kill Max would be six feet under right now. "No!! I am not gay! I do like girls, I'm just shy, what of it??" He growled, keeping his voice low in case someone overheard.
Max grinned lightheartedly at Ruari. "Then let us help you get a date!" He encouraged. Sometimes it was a friend's job to help their buddy get hooked up with someone so he wouldn't feel left out. Especially if he was too shy to do it himself.
Ember looked up at the stage and whispered in Pika's ear again. "I think those guys up there are talking about us. They keep looking over here." She wasn't sure what they were up to and gave the boys a suspicious look.

Pika looked at the stage and saw Danny getting shoved by Max. Pika tugged Ember along. "What are you guys talking about up here?"
Ruari smirked. "Me and Max got a question to ask you?"
Pika looked surprised. "What question?"

Danny wrestled to cover Max's beak before he could say a word. The top hat went flying as the spotted male struggled with his friend. The Santa hat went flying too.
"Danny thinks your as beautiful as the star on top of the Christmas Tree even though he's too shy to say it. He's alone tonight and wanted to know if you'd like to be his date?" Max asked after winning the play fight. He grinned victoriously while Danny looked away blushing.
Ember giggled, glancing over at the mistletoe in the corner. Maybe she could help lure these two under it and get him to get over his shyness and kiss the girl!

Pika blushed and looked down. Ruari smirked and nodded at Max as a job well done!
"We'll leave you two love birds alone." Ruari tugged Ember and Max along and shoved Pika into Danny.

Ember pouted as she was tugged away. Why couldn't she stay? She wanted to see! She decided to occupy her time by grabbing Max's top hat and running away with it.
"Hey, get back here! That's mine!" Max called, giving chase after the young child. "You won't get away!" He called, racing after her. Being kids lived on sugar the girl was naturally faster than him.
Danny cleared his throat nervously, putting his own Santa hat back on. He felt like he was about to give a speech and everyone was staring, except it wasn't everyone, it was Pika. He blushed and looked down at her. What was the advise he'd been given? Oh yeah, breathe deep and think of funny things so you can smile. He took a deep breathe, let it out slowly and tried to smile though he was almost too nervous to. "H-He wasn't lying." He announced shyly, letting her know that it wasn't some cruel joke. He really did think she was beautiful, and kind.

Pika blushed more but didn't speak or look at Danny.
"DON'T WORRY!!!! SHE'S LIKE THAT!!!! SHE HAS NO CLUE ON WHAT TO SAY WHEN IT COMES TO THINGS LIKE THAT!!!!" yelled Ruari. I'm so mean.

"After my speech...uh...would you...maybe...share a dance with me?" He asked, walking over to a table and pulling a chair out for her. He was a gentlemen, he knew his manners. He waited for her to sit in it, patiently. They had a little time before everyone got to the party. They could talk for a while.
Max finally caught up to Ember and took his hat back, panting. He returned to his seat at another table to relax again. He was tired again, darn it! He straightened his black bow and fixed his hair that had gotten a little messy from the wrestling and the run.
Ember looked up at Ruari. "I heard Santa was coming tonight, is he really? When will he be here?" She asked innocently.

Pika sat down and looked up at Danny. She blushed and then looked down. She then finally nodded.
Ruari was watching and Ruari looked at the kid. "Uh....yeah....sure...." Ruari wasn't good with kids.

Danny left the chair since she didn't seem interested in sitting in it. Gee this was hard, too shy Furbys trying to talk... "I don't know you well, but I'd like to. Tell me about you and I tell you about me?" He offered, trying to get her to talk. He liked her voice, she talked to him earlier, why so quiet now? This was all Max's and Ruari's fault! Ruari had said not to worry, that it was just Pika not knowing what to say, so he hoped the question would get her speaking to him again.
Ember huffed at his hesitant half answer and sat down at a table sulking. It wasn't fair! Adults never liked talking to kids for some reason. She looked around, bored. Maybe she'd order a milkshake, beverages were free and already available before the speech. Dinner and desert would only be after the speech. She wondered when Santa would get here. Hopefully she was still on the good list!
Max tapped his foot to a song the DJ was playing. It took a lot not to try singing along, he was a party animal. He loved singing and dancing! He laughed, watching Ember pout. "Uh oh, made her mad." He grinned over at Ruari. Looking over at Pika he chuckled some more. "She's blushing redder than him!"
