"I have to move the cog back into place, it's a delicate process with something this small and complex. Then tighten it to ensure that it won't come loose again." He paused, knowing on some level this was probably the most he'd spoken to another person in a long while.
"It won't take long." He said a little hastily, pulling the watch back to himself.

"Oh, really?" He sat back and sipped his coffee. "Heh. I should've guessed it would be that easy." Only, in his experience, nothing was. The fact that the flaw in his pocket-watch was so easily cured made him feel quite happy at some sub-molecular level. "Do you do this sort of thing often, Dr. Calgori?"

"No." He admitted absently. "It is not often that I leave my research for this type of work, and it is rare that I am allowed to examine such an exquisite piece of clockwork."
He was silent as he carefully examined the tiny cog. He wanted to get it right without messing with any of the surrounding cogs.
