Well, I first got Tsubasa when my friend started saying "Guess what, there's another series that Sakura and Syaoran is in, except they're older." I'm like "WHAT WHERE?" Apparently it was close to my birthday so she said that she'd buy it for me. I still didn't know what the series was and I kept bugging her about it. When it was birthday party I opened up her present and she gave me 2 volumes of Tsubasa!~!~! I was like THANK YOU SO MUCH! Since then, I've loved Tsubasa. I really owe her back, even if it was my birthday. lol

well, a few years ago - my sis was a senior so I guess around three or so - her online buddy told her about a new Sakura and Syaoran manga and sent her a link to a scanlation of the first chapter. WE both instantly fell in love with it as I searched even more about it and found a group doing a radio show of it (have since lost link) as my sis's friend was printing of copies and handing them out at her school (lots of ink i bet).

I kinda forgot about it until this feb when i somehow found out that it was gonna become an anime and that spring I bought the first four book at AniZona and rejoiced with the many other CLAMP fans as the MC was talking about it befor the cosplay started. ah, good toimes. (not too off topic i hope sweatdrop )

Well... lets see... I had always been an anime addict (since I was... 7-ish) and I was at this youth bondfire and my friend was going to borrow some manga from my other friend, so I picked it up when she got it and opened it up to the first page and started reading. I read the whole thing in about 20-30 minutes and then I moved on to voloume 2. However by that time it was dark and REALLY hard to see so I took it home and read the rest in 15 minutes and then I REALLY wanted the third one so I took it from my friend along with the fourth and read them in no time at all. Then I had to wait a REALLY long time to get 5 and 6 but when they came out I bought them and read them and loved them forever. Now I'm waiting for 7! ^^ (VERY SOON!!!! ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^)

On a side topic at the bongfire they had this powdery stuff and it TURNED THE FLAMES GREEN!!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!!! Not as amazing as Tsubasa of course but still...

Heh, I've been a huge CLAMP fan for quite a while, so when I was browsing in the bookstore one day and saw they had a new series out in english I didn't think twice about getting it. I got xxxHolic the same trip I think.

Well, to be honest...I was totally into Cardcaptor Sakura and X/1999 and when I was at the bookstore called B*Dalton I saw a strange looking book that had characters that looked like Sakura and Syaoran from Cardcaptors...so I looked at it and I saw that it REALY looked like them! I bought it and then I noticed that there names were the same too!! So I was like soooo excited to read it! It was untill after I read the entire first volume that I realized that on the back of the book it said "Sakura and Syaoran Are Back!" I was like : xd lol

little_kitty_chan
the story of my and nakuru-chans discovery of tsubasa!
okay. if i remember correctly, it was ariel(thats her real name, by the way) who discovered it first. she told nakuru-chan(in real life) at the teen center, who, naturally, told me. to put it simply, we...went insane. i remember lani was there too. we were in the woods(theres a bunch of trees behind the teen center), i think...yes, in the woods. me and nakuru-chan were all screamin our brains out...squealing, really. anyways, i felt..really floaty, to put it in sakura-chan terms.
i think it was that day, that we started our great tsubasa research. we went on the computer, as always, but we didnt go to do some ccs research. we did tsubasa research. wow...i can really remember it. we found some site with all those pictures....among them, i remember some mokona pics. me and nakuru-chan were like"...? are those kero and suppy?(of course its not!)". also, i remember this..kurogane picture. i think it was that one...that one with kurogane with the read moon in the backround...maybe. anyways, i said something that i think was really stupid of me. i said to nakuru-chan something about "who cares about that guy!" or something. i didnt care about him then, because i didnt read it yet or anything, but that still makes me really sad when i think about it. i was really impatient and wanted to see the rest of the pics, but still...
anyways, that was the very beginning of my jouney to tsubasa insanity and obsession.
i think..was it a few days later, or was it the same day? oh well. it doesnt matter. some day nakuru-chan had found the scans of 15 pages of the first manga(i hadnt read it yet at that time.). it wasnt the exactly the first 15(it skipped the colored pages, i think.). me and nakuru..we were so excited...and i was so happy.
then..it came..the day that nakuru-chan bought tsubasa. was it a monday? no...wednesday..?i cant remember. but i remember nakuru-chan taking it out of her backpack and showing it to me...i was so eager to read it, but i couldnt(nakuru-chan said i couldnt. yet.). i got to read a lot i think at lunch or something, but sometime in teen center, nakuru-chan said again, that i couldnt. then she put it in her backpack. but i really wanted to read it. i so wanted to read it, that i..i sorta...stoal it from her backpack, and started reading. nakuru noticed, but she let me in the end. when i'd almost finished it, my mom came to pick me up, i was at the "preview for xxxholic" thing. i was at the "where do you get off with calling this a treasure?! what the hell is it?!" part. but i had to go. so i packed up my things..and found out my brothers were playing in the field(theres a field and park near teen center.). that meant i could run back into the teen center and
reace the remaining pages. so i did. i remember nakuru being startled, and then laughing...and then i read the final pages, and left.
those were the days..:dream:
..!:end dream:
oh, thats right..
then, i think..over a month later, i was desparete to buy it for myself. i wanted it. but in those days, i didnt want to ask my mom and dad for one. i think i was sort of embarressed that i liked manga(im not, now!). but when my family wanted to go to this little mall thing, i asked them if i could go to barnes and noble. they said yes, but when they were almost there, they were like, "wait a second. isnt there a barnes and nobles at _________?" and so i went with them to that mall. i remember going in there, and after not finding it in the store, asking a lady in the information counter thingy if they had "tsubasa". she asked me to spell it for her. i remember being really nervous as i spelled it for her. then she said that it was in the teen section. i went there, and sure enough, there was tsubasa, volume one. i remember hugging it, and then covering it with my jacket. then i settled down to read some yugioh mangas. soon enough, my dad came to tell me that we were leaving. i put away the books, and then grabbed my jacket(that had tsubasa in it). my dad saw it, and asked about it. he asked if i bought it, and what it was. i said yes, but didnt tell him what it was. i remember going down to old navy, where the rest of my family were, and they asked what it was. i didnt tell them. eventually, though, they found out...oh well.
anyways, something thats reallyn special about tsubas(other than the fact that its by CLAMP and has kurogane in it, etc.) is that it was my first manga i'd ever bought by myself, and the first english manga i'd ever owned. i love it alot.
theres alot more to the story, but ill end up typing forever if i do. so ha. im not going to.

waitwaitwaitwaitwaitwait!!
i forgot something incredibly and amazingly important!!
i have to tell you how i got into manga in the first place!!!
the incredibly and amazingly important story!
okay, if yo knew me before, youd remember that i didnt like manga. in fact, i thought of it as stupid and meaningless(please dont kill me. im sorry.).
so, how did i come to like it?
wait...no, i need to go into a story that took place even before the story of my hate to manga--eh. gotta go...ill finish that later.

I was given a link by a friend to watch this one anime, Full Moon Wagashite. I fell in love with that series as well as the the two others the site showed: Tsubasa and Mahoraba.

The link is: http://homepage.mac.com/pockyrevolution/anime.html

It's not a site where you can download episodes, but they show new episodes every monday and thursday. It's totally awesome!

Hakurie's discovery of tsubasa:
One day shopping with my friend Bii and my stepmom I was buying Inuyasha 18-20. when my friend spotted clamp, clamp in being she still liked Pokemon and her favorite pokemons name was clamp. She bouaght Tsubasa and read it. I read it as well over her shoulder. After that i fell in love with the book story line, considering before I had alwasy whished that my favorite anime's would cross worlds and paths which each other. so when i had began reading it i was like OMFG heart heart tada!

A bunch or my friends at my Uni are anime nuts. I like Sailor Moon, Trigun, and Ranma 1/2 (which said friends introduced me to), but beyond that I hadn't really tried any other anime. One of my friends, a dear soul named Katie, kept telling me "You've got to try this. You've got to try that." But the one anime she kept telling me I needed to try because I'd fall in love with is was Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. So we watched the first 4 episodes on Katie's computer.

I LOVED it! And can we say "GAH CLIFFHANGERS!?!?!" xp That made me want to watch even more. Katie ended up having to leave for the night since her older brother was up visiting, but she gave me permission to use her computer to watch the rest of the 16 episodes she had. I did. I sat up and watched the first half of season 1 before she kicked me out for the night. Her suite-mates (my friends) completely forgot I was over because I was SO engrossed in watching TRC that I didn't make a sound... except for the occasional "GAH NO!!!" or "Oh my GOSH!!!" comments I'd spout at the computer screen.

Katie was also kind enough to burn all the episodes onto CDs for me so I can watch them whenever I want! She also sent me the soundtrack so I can listen to the music (which is AWESOME) anytime I so desire. mrgreen rofl 4laugh

I have such good friends! They fuel my sweet, sweet addiction. blaugh Since I first watched and listened, I've gotten 2 other people hooked on Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. More will follow! biggrin

i havent been here for a long time, ne?
oh well...
anyways, continuing with my story!

(you guys know what teen center is by now, right?if you dont, too bad)
this event caused me to like CLAMP, and become friends with nakuru-chan.

it was in ms. browns class, when naku-chan had ccs(cardcaptor sakura) vol 3, 5, and 6 of the second series on her desk. her friend, ariel(who later became my friend as well), and her were talking about it, and that made me curious.

i knew nakuru vaguely because she was in most of my classes, and because i always asked her what the homework was in teencenter.

so in teen center that day, i was really bored. i didnt know anyone there pacticually well, so i was bored beyond words. thats when i saw the volumes of ccs sitting on a table near me.

since i was bored, i decided to read it. so i asked nakuru-chan if i could.
she said okay, so i settled down to read it. i remember alot of stuff from that day, but itd make this word bubble too long if i explained it well. so ill just say that even though i didnt know alot about ccs, i got right into it after reading my first volume(vol 3).
i wanted to read the 6th one next(when ariel and nakuru were reading it, they said something about it being "creepy"), but nakuru insisted that i read the 5th first.
i did, and liked it even more.
but before i could finish vol 5, nakuru-chans parent(i think it was her dad) came to pick her up.
she said i could borrow it, so i took it home, read it, and grew obsessed.
the next day, i went to the computer of teen center for the first time to find pictures of ccs.
nakuru-chan joined me, and together we researched ccs.
...we really were obsessed. so much that the ink ran out because we printed so many pictures, and i always ran to sign up on the computer lab first every day at teen center.

....after that, nakuru-chan introduced me to more mangas, etc.
then came the day ariel told nakuru-chan about trc, and nakuru-chan told me...
(the rest is explained in the post i did about how i got introduced to tsubasa)
