I wonder how Beatrice will fit into the story later. It's all so sketchy. I heard that one of the Baudelaire parents is still alive....maybe Beatrice is still living.

I'm really tired right now, so excuse me for being slow, but was it ever confirmed that Beatrice was the Baudelaire mother (if it was, when/where), or is it just a fanbase theory?

Bryn McCardell I'm really tired right now, so excuse me for being slow, but was it ever confirmed that Beatrice was the Baudelaire mother (if it was, when/where), or is it just a fanbase theory? It says it in the Autobiography. She was killed or at least taken by the other side of VFD during the masked ball where the evil VFD were diguised as cockroaches. Anything else?

I think she is dead ,but since Lemony calls her his beloved maybe he is the Baudelaire Father and of course he is still living. *shrugs shoulders* just a thought. biggrin

How else could her name be Baudelaire and the kids. Also, a comma to put together sentences goes at the end of the word before but. Sorry, my English teacher last year has made me a grammar Nazi.

Were they ever married? If they were married she could have made the decision to keep her former husbands last name until she remarried. I fixed the grammar mistake for your sake.

No, they were never married. Beatrice "broke up" with Lemony when she saw his death published in the newspaper, which wasn't true. She then got engaged to Mr. Baudelaire and married, had kids, etc.

Yeah, I'd like to see the quote where it specifically says Beatrice was the Baudelaire mother, because I can't believe I missed that!

I may have the answer. Just for kicks, one time, I anagrammed the whole list of names in The Hostile Hospital to see if there were any other Baudelaires. And to my eek shock, one of the names did. It turned out to be Beatrice Baudelaire. Coincedence?
