Thili sighed softly once he realized that Bhavini was showing no signs of stopping. “I’ll be right back, Rashne,” he reassured his only son before following the youngest cub of the litter. Carefully grabbing Bhavini, he carried her right back home again, depositing her next to Senny. “Now, Bhavini… you shouldn’t wander so far. None of you should wander that far…” Oh damn! Just as he was saying that, someone else was trying to wander out! Carefully positioning himself to block Saharan’s way, Thili tried to figure out where he had left off. Ah yes! Warning them against wandering too far! “Just try to stay close to the den unless I, Mommy, or Hadaya is with you. Or one of your aunts or uncles. You remember Auntie Siti and Auntie Kamaria, yes? And Uncle Jethro?” He wasn’t sure if they would remember. They had been quite young when the ‘family’ came to visit.
Anyway… back to Rashne’s question. “It’s all water. But you cannot drink it. It’s far too salty. But, sometimes, if you watch closely enough, you can see creatures that live in it. Great big fish that could gobble a lion whole. And even stranger creatures with tentacles like tendrils of grass all around. I’ve even seen a seal once. It had fins instead of legs and couldn’t even walk. It rather flopped around. And it looked something like this!” he puffed out his cheeks, trying to make himself look as big as possible.
This stopped once Rasa spoke. She had yet to speak, a fact that had caused some concern among the proud parents. But now… Thili grinned widely at his daughter, feeling absurdly proud that his adopted son should be his biological daughter’s first word.

Vash looked at her sister in surprise, since she couldn’t recall her saying a single word yet. Then again, she also didn’t remember these aunts and uncle her father had mentioned… ah well. It didn’t really matter, did it? But Haddy! She remembered him very well!
“Ha…Hadaya!” she squealed right back at her sister, pawing at Rasa lightly before giggling. “Hadaya, Hadaya, Hadaya!” the name turned into a chant as she excitedly ran around her older brother and sister happily. This was fun! Running was fun! So was talking! And Rasa had found the perfect word for a chant too. “Ha-da-ya!”

Oh God.
Everything was saying his name and he couldn't quite keep up with the voices. This was an adorably confusing game, but his already jumbled head was having difficulty processing everything. He was not aware that one of them was saying her very first words, though if he did he would be worried that his name was probably a bad thing for it to be. He tried not to be superstitious, but if he did have bad luck, it might be encouraged to rub off.
He looked down at all the bumbling, bright little faces and smiled at them. He was so happy to be seeing so much love and affection in their eyes, even if they were only old enough to do pretty much whatever the majority of them were doing, an action that was usually started by a word from their mother or father. Yet here they all were, sitting at his big paws, and they looked happy to be there. He didn't know many creatures he could remember sharing that genuine excitement.
But maybe it was because they didn't know him yet.
He shook his head and tried not to worry. It was like the ocean trying to turn back against its own swells, but nothing was impossible. They made him feel so warm and happy, he really didn't have any desire to dwell on anxiety. He let out a surprised yelp when one of the cubs bounced up on him, and he looked at her in surprise, masking his embarrassing noise as a high pitched laugh.
"Hello!" He said to her, turning his head around so he could touch his nose against her in a very brief, very gentle nuzzle, "you really have a good grasp on my name!" He had to speak up, just to be heard over her chants. Of course, now the chants were spreading. It was a little bit creepy, but he couldn't stop laughing.
"I think I broke them!" He yelled over the cubs to their parents, grinning sheepishly.

There were far sights more amusing then watching her mate, but he was being trumpt by their son and daughters. It was so cute how they flocked to Hadaya and all called out his name. The voices ran together, but even over the din she heard one loud and clear. All the others she had heard their lovely voices often, so the introduction of a sweet new voice stood out. With a warm smile to match her mate's, she felt extra proud to hear their little Rasa speak for the first time. Most cubs said Mommy or Daddy frist, perhaps this was a sign that Rasa would be anything the like most cubs.
Spotting Saharan, Sen quickly called out, "Saharan, Bhavini, mind your father and come away from the water." They had both been told, yet seemed so drawn to it. Perhaps when they were older and could stand a chance against the Ocean currents it wouldn't be a problem but now, the Ocean could take away what she gave, but not on her life would she lef it happen.
Those thoughs hid themselves at Hadaya's comment. With a warm chuckle she told him, "Don't worry, they aren't broken, welcome to the world of being the adored big brother." Handy cub sitter too, but not while he was uncomfortable with the cubs. So popular, this was likely way out of the oilve furred cub's league, but he'd get used to it, those little cubs would make sure of it.
Ziba chanted with the others, enjoying the game as she saw it. She was aware that Saharan was and Bhavini were doing big no-nos, but what else is knew, she saw them do them before. Same with her sister's first words. As she saw it, she had heard Rasa speak lots and lots of times, not always with the nicest things to say to her either. With her visions, she could never understand ages either, what she saw was transformed into what she knew current. Vasha fighting off a full grown male at their age might make no sense to anyone else, but thats what she saw in the vision and that was her truth.

Saharan slowed, seeing her Papan plop his big butt in her way. She frowned up at him, but the sea's enchantment had been broken when her line of sight was broken from it. Still...soon enough he was answering some other question, and in the guise of rubbing up against him, she worked her way around. She crawled back under his legs for good measure, making it seem like she really was content to stay at his side. Then, just as she'd been ready to make a break for it, her mom called out.
With a sigh she let herself sit on the sand. No fair! How could they expect her to sit still with all that...that STUFF out there! She wanted to see it, to feel it. It looked sort of like the sand, but moving and sky-colored...she wondered if she could walk on it.
Thankfully for the parents, she was soon distracted by her mother's tail, and she toddled over to pat at it. No claws, no pouncing, she simply sat beside it, and each time the tuft moved at all, she'd pat it back into place. She was Papan now, and the tail was her. And that big leaf over there was the blue-stuff she had to keep tail-her from getting to.
