Duncan gave a bit of a laugh, sounded like an interesting parent that this kid had ended up with, "Alright, I might have worried if you were alone." Maybe, he wasn't really sure what he'd have thought or done if he'd ended up with some lost little spawn on his hands... he probably would have panicked given he had no idea what to do with a child this age for an extended amount of time.

"Nah, I'm never alone. Mommy or big brother always make sure that one of them is with me when I go out. Something about me being too friendly for my own good and not wanting me grabbed. I take their word for it - they know a lot better than I do." the child assured Duncan. "Did I tell you about my brother? You and him have the same skin color. He's not from Sevens but he's red. Red's a nice color, don't you think?"

Duncan nodded, "I can see that." He murmured, she did seem a bit to friendly didn't she? Even going as far as to come up to someone like him to talk and make friends... he kind of appreciated that she would come up and talk to him despite what he was. Not that he would say it out loud mind you.
"Red...? Hmm..." He seemed to consider the question before giving a lazy shrug, "Its alright I guess, there are better colors though." Red bothered him as it reminded him to much of blood, something he saw to much of and didn't like.

"I like all of the colors, myself. There are nice things and bad things in everyone of them. That's the fun bit." the child stated idly, taking another bite of her pizza.
"Have you been to the facility before? The older kids I've met all said they had to go a few times and don't like it."

Duncan felt his hackles rise a little at the question but forced himself to take deep, steadying breaths, counting backwards from ten in his mind before finally answering her, "I hate the place, most everyone there too... I suppose Maziel is alright and his brother has moments where he's ok." Everyone else though... if they all got horribly massacred he couldn't say he would mourn.
Vampy especially... he'd love to see that guy fall a peg or two... and most of the techs needed a swift kick to the midsection as well.

"I like a few people there. But they aren't techs, and I've apparently managed to avoid the guy people really don't like there. I've met some of the angels and a few of the demons though. I like them but it sucks that they have to be there. People are mean to them." she commented before dropping the subject, looking out the window instead. If it upset him, she didn't want to continue on that topic.
"What's your family like, Duncan?

He gave a nod as he reached over for his drink, taking a sip, "Yeah, Jhor didn't much seem like he wanted to be there. Neither did Shar..." Not that he cared as much what happened to the demon... it was Shar's fault that he was cursed as he was, with this awful temperament and rage problems... the demon was right where he belonged. In a cage.
"My family? Its just me and my Dad right now." He said, swirling the ice in his cup, "Hes... a good man, he deals with everything I've done to this point even things that involved him... hes the best."

"Whose Jhor? I have not heard of him before. I've heard of Shar though, Almas mentioned I shouldn't go near him." the child couldn't stop herself from asking.
"That's good. Single dad that's a good dad is better than having two parents that aren't any good." she commented, thinking on a friend of hers and her disagreeable step-mommy. "We're lucky. We both have good families."

Duncan's hand gave a little twitch and he gave a sound of surprise when he crushed his cup, "Oh... hells... sorry." He murmured, setting his cup aside and got some napkins to dry off his hands, "Yeah, Shar is a monster. They keep him in a cage... probably a good thing." He explained.
He then seemed to relax at their families, "Yeah, I'd much rather have June then a whole dozen family members I couldn't get along with."

Ebby's eye muscles moved in the manner a normal person would blink when she noticed Duncan crush cup, but soon turned back to the conversation with no hint of fear. Her uncle did that sort of thing quite a lot.
"It sounds nice. I'd feel a bit lonely without my brothers around but I think it's cause I'm used to them now. They're all really neat people. So's my Uncle, even if he's not very good with people."

"It might be a good thing for me, I mean... its a nice idea but... I am scared I'd hurt them. My father can fend me off, hes strong. He can keep me from doing much damage but someone small..." He shook his head, "I don't think kids should be around someone like me for extended periods of time."
He envied Ebony, it sounded like she had a good sized family... it would be nice to be able to have something like that. Thinking on the many scars that June had made him think such a thing was impossible though.

"You never know. Maybe things will change for you. Or you'll get a sibling that you can't hurt." she offered reassuringly, reaching out one of her hands and gently putting her own on top of it in a friendly way.

Duncan looked down at her hands and then gave a soft smile, "Thank you." He murmured, "One never knows I guess." He doubted he would find an invincible sibling any time soon but the way she spoke gave him hope for the future, how ever small.

About that time, Dartie had decided she needed a drink and took notice of the bar section of the pizza place. So, she wandered by Ebony, reaching out to ruffle the sprat's black hair as she walked over towards the bar to order something. Well, okay it wasn't an official bar. But they sold beer and that was good enough for her.
Ebby giggled. "That was my Mommy."

Duncan looked up at the woman as she passed by, watching her as she merely ruffled Ebony's hair and kept going without saying anything. He felt his yellow eye twitch, widening slightly as it watched her before it filed her away as 'potentially dangerous and interesting' before it went back to looking around for other things interesting.
He gave a smile, "She seems interesting." He said, finishing off his pizza before looking at the last slice that remained in the pan, "You want it?"
