Kin grinned, and even laughed at loud at the confident Akina. He could tell she was putting on a front, she looked crazy worried, and Kin assumed it was about him. When she agreed to help him, he was was pretty sure he was right. And when she turned and walked away, he was downright positive. He smiled a bit when he saw her start to run too, 'So... she does care a little bit then,' he thought to himself.

He turned his head so his ear was off the ground and looked into the distance. His ear hurt like crazy again, but he wouldn't admit it. He let out a large sigh, he knew everything was gonna be ok, but he wished Akina wouldn't worry so much about it. Which was the last thing he thought about before he slipped out of consciousness again.

Akina's legs barely touched the ground as she ran, puffs of dust poofing beneath her paws. Her tongue flew back out of her mouth, her whole body pulsing with speed.

There! She saw the den. She picked up her pace, making her way towards it. She skidded to a stop, dirt shooting up to the left. Akina stumbled over her paws and immediately began to claw at the bushels of herbs that grew up out of the ground right beside the den. Come to think of it, where was everyone?

Oh, well.

Claws ripping roots and leaves, Akina began collecting as many of the herbs as she could in her mouth, careful not to swallow any. She heard it was harmful if one ingested them. She worked quickly, taking as many leaves as she could. When she couldn't fit any more without choking, Akina spun around and sprinted back to where Kinyago was. Akina had the speed of a cheetah accompanied by the stamina of a lion. She was fast and durable. Running was what she did best. And when there was a reason to run, she ran even harder.

It had only been a couple minutes since Akina had first left Kinyago. Already, she could see him just ahead of her. She leaped to his side and removed the herbs from her mouth, spitting them distastefully near his head. Okay...What was she supposed to do with the herbs now? Wait...

"Kin?" Akina mumbled, blinking down at him. Her eyebrow twitched and she realized he had passed out. DANGIT! That weak, stupid antelope! Making her worry so much! Jeez...

Akina looked down at the herbs and nudged them onto Kinyago's ear with her nose. She pressed them in lightly, juices from the torn leaves seeping into the wounds. After she had used up all the leaves, she was met with the disappointing realization that...She needed more. Okay! No problem. She'd get some water, too. It would be easy to bring it.

She had kept the piece of wood Kinyago had used to carry water to her those months ago...

Smiling, Akina turned around and ran back to the den. Her heart fluttered when she imagined Kinyago thanking her with heaps of amazed gratitude.

Kin opened his eyes, or at least the thought he was opening his eyes, everything was really fuzzy. He could hear fine though, well, at least out of his good ear; and he heard loud, really fast moving footsteps, which he assumed were Akina's. "Akina? That you?" he said softly. He felt her push something against his ear, and then felt a cooling sensation. And then, his vision started to clear up, and not only that, but the pain in his ear was practically gone!

He sat up suddenly, feeling so much better. "Woah, what did you do to me Aki..." he started to say happily, but then noticing... she wasn't there. "Hmmm, wonder where she ran off to," he wondered aloud. He got to his feet and looked around, and noticed that there were a bunch of herbs lying at his feet. "Ahhh, so thats how she did it then. Smarter than I give her credit for," he said with a smile on his face. "Although I think it's better if I just go ahead and leave now... I've found her twice already, I'm sure I can find her again."

"Later Akina," he said before walking off.

Once again, Akina was cutting down herbs and shoving them into her mouth. Of course, she still had to get water. The work wasn't over yet. Once she had finished, she ran into the den, grabbed her precious treasure from her super-secret-hidden hiding spot, and ran to the watering hole.

She jumped through the long grass and was unable to see Kinyago. She hurried with collecting the water. It was hard to hold the herbs in her mouth and maneuver the bowl-like wood at the same time. Then she had to lift the now-heavy wood full of water and carry it as carefully as she could back to Kinyago. It was hard work. But she was grinning as she carried it, walking. She was happy to do it because it was making up for hurting Kinyago, even if just a little bit...

Akina broke through the long grass and moved her eyes up to the spot Kinyago had been lying.

He wasn't there...?

Akina's mouth opened and the herbs and wooden bowl fell from her mouth. Cold water splashed up and speckled Akina's legs, but she didn't move. Her eyes were blank and she stared.

He...Left? Akina frowned, eyebrows knitting upward. But...He was, like...Her only friend, kind of. She reall, really liked him. She tried so hard to make up for hurting him. And he just...LEFT?

Akina's eyes narrowed and her brows furrowed, eyes flashing.

"Kinyago..." she said in a low tone, tired muscles trembling in her anger. "From this day forward...We're not friends..." she growled. She pointed her head to the sky.
