"Hey, you!"
She almost ran up straight into him. She didn't, though, and managed to stop right in front of him. Barely. Her gloved hands reached up and grabbed the newcomer's shoulders, a bit firmly, stress obliged.
"Hey, have you seen a kid wearing pale clothes and with brown hair carrying a big stone jar? Have you?"
Panic was starting to swell into Vanessa's voice. She had been searching the city all day, without a single trace of her treasure. By now, her whole body was shivering every now and then, frozen to the bone without the jar next to her. Desperate, she had started going up to anyone she hadn't seen yet and hoping for a bit of info.

Shin stumbled back a bit when grabbed by the woman. His hands were jerked from his pockets and he waved them desperatly to regain balance. When he got his balance back he stood upright and looked at the woman.
"Hmm..."
He thought for a moment, trying to recall any such person. Who was he kidding, he hadn't noticed anyone let alone someone like that. He could sence the panic in her voice, this jar must have been important to her if she was indeed in such a panic. He spoke calmly to her, but firmly.
"No Miss I have not...but if you require assistance, I would be glad to help..."

"Really?"
Her green eyes lit up behind the few black bangs falling over her face. Quickly though, she noticed how roughly she had taken up the man, and stepped back with a small cough. A small blush, too.
Nevertheless, she straightened up.
"If you could help me, I'd appreciate it dearly. Heck, I'll even pay you a charming reward for your help, wether you want it or not. Pretty please? Finding that thing is a matter of life or death ..."

Meanwhile, across town, the same Officer that the girl had so rudely insulted was busy making his rounds when he noticed a young man, probably in his early twenties walk by carying a rather large stone jar, with a top about two feet wide. Now, normally the Officer wouldn't have cared, it was just a jar afterall, but this jar was CLEARLY not of Lamentian orgin, and the kid running about with it was deffinately Lamentian. Well, that and he had the arm tatoo of the Lamentian Crucibles that was faintly visable under his shirt as his muscles bulged out from the weight of the object he was carying. Hey! You there with the jar! Hold it a moment! The Officer turned and began to walk towards the boy with the jar, whom immediately looked back and started running towards a crowd of people. The Officer picked up his pace and ran after the boy. The chase was on...

He noticed her blush but said nothing of it. He bowed slightly to her and spoke gently.
"No reward is need ma'am..."
He straightened up and tightened his belt.
"...well then, where shall we start?"

"Well, erm, I was thinki--"
Something zoomed past, cleanly ramming into Vanessa's side at that exact moment. The poor lady was sent tumbling into the man's arms. Hopefully, he'd catch her light frame and not kiss the ground too.
Then, something else ran by. Something else wearing a uniform, and yelling something about a jar.
Jar?
"It's him! ********, he's getting away!"
Vanessa had completely forgotten about the nice man willing to help her. She had already disappeared, cutting through the crowd to catch up with the officer and the thief.

It all happened within a small fraction of a moment. The person running by, the officer, the woman running off.
First day here...what an adventure.
He moved quickly, running after the two. He had caught up to them, legs pumping, pushing him forward along with them. He wasn't sure if he should get the guy they were chasing...so he simply followed along. Running would have been easier in his alternate form..but that would take to much time.
"...Are we supposed to 'catch' that guy?"
He said it breathing only lightly.

Kakuu hadn't noticed the chase thats started a few yards away. Her attention was on the diffrent ores being sold in the martket place, "I'll take these two." she said, taking out a few coins, each worth about 100 gold. "There are some great deals here, I may have to stay afterwall," she though, smiling as she looked at the obsidian. "With deals like this, I better stock up before I head back to Barton, then back to the White Plains.

The thief ran past several people and then ducked into an alleyway, knocking over some crates and trashcans to attempt to slow down his pursuers. However, the Officer was used to these sort of pitiful attempts.
As he approached the alleyway he jumped, kicked off of one wall, and landed over the top of the wreckage. If this crook wanted to get away, he'd better start something different...

"Get out of my way!"
Vanessa had turned the corner, too. Only, she wasn't planning going all acrobatic like mr Officer. See, the girl was kinda busy. That, and she was wearing steel-capped boots.
So she gave the thrash in front of her a foot that would've made soccer and football players around the globe blush in shame. Crates went flying, and so did thrash, while Vanessa kept running right through it. Hopefully, the officer that was standing atop all those wouldn't be too angry.
Then again, it was all he deserved for stalling to show off.

The officers stunt proved impressive and he barely had time to realise what was happining. When the woman kicked the wreckage over the place several large pieces went flying in his direction. He jumped forward and landed on his two hands, spinning around on one and then doing a backflip.
This manuever would prove to dodge the pieces that flew in his general direction. When he landed, he turned and started after the boy again, harder to tell where he went though considering his vision was skewed while doing his manuver.
"Where did he go?"
He said this to the woman trying to keep up with her, even though she might have not heard her in her bit of rage.

Luckily for the Officer, he had jumped up and over the crates, landing on the other side, before Vanessa sent them flying. He kept after the criminal, following him out of the alleyway and into another street.

"Keep running after him! I'll try to corner him a bit further away!"
Without even stopping on her way, Vanessa reached up and grabbed the side of an escape staircase, in an alley. Immediately, she threw herself upward and started climbing up the old building, planning on using the higher grounds to her advantage.

The Officer grunted in acknowledgement to Vanessa as he kept after the thief, who was busy ramming his way through the croud of pedestrians.
Official business! Clear the street! Get moving! Thats an order!
The Officer barked the commands to the citizens and the split to either side of the street allowing the Officer a perfect view of the bandit, and giving him plenty of room to do what he planned next. His hand began to glow with a reddish energy as he kept up the chase...

He had heard the womans request and kept after the theif. He skidded slightly as he turned the corner and started after the theif. Completely ignoring the orders the officer was giving, simply dodging in and out of the people whom happened to be in his way. He kept on the theif, but do to the dodging, it was hard to actually catch him.
Man...why am I doing this...
