Gravechylde MegaTherion777 ALL swedish black metal. talk2hand Even Bathory? He loves Bathory, FLAW! I, on the other hand, am ashamed that viking metal came from this band.

Gravechylde MegaTherion777 ALL swedish black metal. talk2hand Even Bathory? bathory is the exception that proves the rule. also, most elitists argue that 1st wave != true BM. i was referring exclusively to 2nd and 3rd wave bands

Ah yes.... Bathory is the one band I'm ashamed of. Disliking religion is one thing. But screaming "you know what Jesus" is totally unacceptable. And that's what they did in at least one concert. Heard it on radio (how they aired that in a Polish radio station is a different story).

Don't ask me. It's a strange country. Anyway, with the Gorgoth it was the problem of camera men getting offended by the situation and filing a report. They were recording the gig. If my mind doesn't fail me, that is.

It was just some recording they aired in the radio station. And with Gorgoth... well... should they crucify a dressed man - it would be all fine. But if I'm not mistaken these were naked chicks.

Naglfar, Diabolical Masquerade, Dark Funeral, Ancient Wisdom, Vinterland... dark funeral is worse than marduk. naglfar is listenable, but not good black metal. diabolical masquerade sounds like dimmu borgir meets incipit satan (while i like gorgoroth, this album is absolute crap). ancient wisdom needs to get rid of the keyboards - it ruins the atmosphere. with both of the previous two bands, they put too much emphasis on melodies to be good black metal - the atmosphere disappears. vinterland (at least in their earlier stuff) is the only band that managed to incorporate thier keyboards into the general atmosphere in a good manner. just enough melody to be "melodic" but not enough to detract from the raw atmosphere. however, their later stuff seems to depart from this, which is unfortunate. so now we have two good swedish black metal bands, bathory and vinterland

Regarding Dark Funeral: Yeah, I know they're lacking in originality and are rather heavy on the melody, but at least they're listenable.
