Mut froze, before looking back. "From the north...?" The hare DID say she would know when she'd met the lions she'd need to... Obviously, Paki was the blind knight. But did Kingu have important meaning? Turning, she moved closer. "You come from a pride to the north? Like... The Firekin?" He certainly wasn't red, that was for sure, and he lacked any marks of slavery. "How FAR north?"

So he had her attention, then. "I don't know about any Firekin... But yes, to the north. Very far north. I had to cross the great desert to get here." He sat down, scratching an itch, before rising again. "Of course, I wasn't stupid... I was following the Nile to her headwaters at the lake, and found my way here. I have a friend floating around here, Eyal... We're seeking new blood for our pride, it's been devestated recently and the numbers are down." He paused, ears flicking, before he looked at Mut. "Would you be willing to help us? You sound like you want to get away from here."

The hare's words came back full-force, talking of Mut wanting to get away from the choking numbers... Was it a coincidence, or did the hare know things? After a moment, Mut nodded. "Alright. I'll go. But... Paki is following. He's... Blind... If that's not a problem..." While she had no problems with cripled lions, she didn't know if others did. She certainly hoped he and the other lions of his pride had no problems. So many in the world could be intollerant, it made her worry about... Everything.

"Blind is no problem to us. There is another sage in the pride... They can't hunt from having a malformed leg. We do not frown in a disability in the En Gedi." He wouldn't mention what they DID frown on. Who knew what reaction that would get. Tail flicking, he bowed his head. "Please, lead the way, lady Mut." He didn't know where this Paki was, but he was sure she would show him so they could meet. A thought occured to him, though he didn't voice it... How big was Paki, and was he kind or mean in his blindness?

Bowing her head back, Mut hurried off. She hoped Paki wouldn't mind, such a long journey. Or it sounded long. Across the great desert... She didn't even know there WERE bigger deserts out there than the one the Firekin lived in. She didn't even know how far the land went, how far west or north or south or even east. Then again... She'd never seen the sea before, so she didn't know how far it was. She'd only heard of it in passing from lions here and there. Head high, she mentally prepared herself. Her life was changing now.
